Appears to work for me (better than others)

KeepKey and ShapeShift.com appear to be the same entity (perhaps). To-date since around 2018 I have only made two (non-coin) purchases. Each seemed to work as expected but I note that I didn't have to "connect my wallet" to any other website. During this time period I have purchased BTC from ETH and that went as expected.
The related fees seem expensive to me but I only have the fiat currency and credit card world to compare with.
The other reviews here worry me. As such, I would consider not putting a significant amount of cryptocurrency on this hardware.
It's possible that the quality has gotten better since a few years ago. I note that I'm using the Brave browser which now works in 2024 whereas in previous years they only supported Chrome.

My experience with this products…

My experience with this products software is not what I expect from a self custody wallet. There ar too many road blocks to retrieve funds, to swap funds, to cash out funds and or to send funs. The gas fees are exorbitant and over priced. it's hard to remove coins and or washout of it's platform and seems function purposely as it does. I do not trust its developers. It's suspicious how it functions.

KEEPKEY is a Shapeshift company who are crooks that take advantage and steal your Bitcoin you wouldn't need such a great customer support people weren't having problems like myself doesn't do anything but go in circles trying to link up over and over I paid about $40 and from reading the reviews I'm not wasting more time to try to get my $ money back

Very bad,don't buy it.

Its very bad, after the first time you connect your keepkey wallet it doesn't load properly ever again,so next time you try to connect it tells you that is not being detected or that an error ocurred,so after that you need to go to windows settings and expel the keepkey from your device and connect it back in,you may need to do this several times before its detected properly and you can access your crypto.

Not only that but when you connect your keepkey for some reason not all of your assets show automatically so if you have xyz crypto that you deposited in your wallet years ago you may not know until you check that particular crypto for it to be shown. I had chainlink,I dind't access my wallet in about 6 months and when I checked back it didn't show,I had to go to setting and click something to show my link.

Its very bad just buy a trezor this is not worth it,it also doesn't support a lot of coins.

My wife ordered a key from this company…

My wife ordered a key from this company after getting a discount code from a youtuber. The code was pointless since keepkey.com recouped the cost through the trick of slapping on a ludicrous delivery charge of over £15. My wife overlooked this and proceeded with the order. They sent nothing. She has emailed numerously without response.

Don’t make purchase from this company, they’re con artist.

Its a crock of crap

Its a crock of crap! Support is a joke always Teflon coating the issue and making it a) your fault b) your place to correct it. It really is poor service, product and system. Avoid.

Really bad

Really bad. Doesn't work out of the box on Linux. I even attempted just for kicks on windows didn't work there either. I asked for my money back and they are giving me the run around. Asking me to repeat the troubleshooting steps that have been documented in the chat more than once. Telling me they can't give my money back if they send it back to them. They wanted me to troubleshoot it for them on Fedora no thanks man do your diligence before you release a product and give me my money back. They had a sale through Shapeshift I paid like 38 $ for it now they selling it at Walmart for 28$ you know why ? It's a scamming sucky product..stay away.

I bought a new Keepkey wallet in the…

I bought a new Keepkey wallet in the latter part of 2017 and it worked satisfactorily till the end of January 2018.
I kept more than 2 BTC in it and transferred back to my online wallet without problem leaving a small amount of BTC.
I also kept 4 ETH in my Keepkey and at the end of January I sent additional 10 ETH to it, but it failed to record it in my account balance.
I contacted the Helpdesk and they gave me instructions to rectify it. In the process my Keepkey was not even showing my already received 4 ETH or the residual 0.067 BTC.
A contacted them a few dozen times without getting my money back.
So I bought another new Keepkey and hoped to recover the funds using the recovery words I had from the first one. It failed too! I contacted the help desk several times without any positive result.
By this time more than 6 months have passed and the ETH value dropped more than 50%. I could not access my 14 ETH worth about $20000 to sell it in time to realize my profit.
SInce Keepkey device and the help desk would not recover my funds, as a last resort I used my original recovery words in a third party wallet and to my surprise it recovered all my money - a consolation but when I sold I lost my profit, but at least I got my capital back.

I would not advice anybody to keep a significant amount in these hardware wallets.

Hardware wallets in my opinion have the risks of: hardware malfunction, firmware dysfunction, app failure or unsatisfactory interactions among them. In summary
I would not trust my money again with any hardware wallet - after all they are man-made and unreliable.

I found a little something odd about eth adress and in few hours I got a awser fron the dev team via the costumer service. With the erc20 patch, kk is a very useful and just miss one thing to complete the circle(xrp). This product is clever , well design, simple to use and with fantastic costumer service! I sent 2 or 3 email and I have always a fanstatic experience.

Excellent customer service support

Excellent customer service support. Very prompt and detailed step by step guide to help me understand and solved my problem. I would gladly recommend Keepkey to anyone looking to use a cold wallet because they can count on excellent customers service.

Really? A great product?

All those saying great product, try sending some ERC 20 coins to it. KK said that they support ERC 20. They don't support ALL ERC 20 coins (but don't tell you this.) Furthermore, they dont have an idea when they will. That means any coins you send will not be visible until KK extract the digit and do what they have promised. So this is not a crypto wallet. This is a wallet to store SOME coins. It is so sad because this is a good, well designed product - apart from the fact that the coins stored is a selective list.

Keep Key has an incredible customer support service. I am a bit of a novice when it comes to hard wallets and each time I have emailed them they have got back in touch with me in an extremely timely fashion. They have answered any questions, no matter how basic, fully to my understanding. I would highly recommend using their wallet based on the service you get from them.

I had an auto response on my query…

I had an auto response on my query immediately, and a support consultant emailed me minutes later, and was then in constant contact until I resolved the issue. After it was resolved, he was still in contact and interested to see if I could recreate it for the support team to investigate further.
I was very impressed, and this is quite different from my experience with contacting a different company who I bought a cheaper hard wallet from, who were very good, but lacked the capacity to respond so quickly and effectively.
cheers
