Not great but fine
I usually use them to buy airplane tickets. While they are pretty good at finding the cheapest one, usually the website they direct you to increases the price immediatly.
KAYAK is an excellent company that…
KAYAK is an excellent company that offers a good search engine and comparison. BUT... it allows companies like TRAVOPORT to advertise and work with customers using false advertising and generate a scam. Which leads to us consumers not returning to Kayak to search. So I suggest that you please review your portfolio of services and remove from your database companies like TRAVOPORT that do not add anything but on the contrary disappoint and defraud your valued customers.
Do not use Kayak
Do not use Kayak! For car hire. I used it ended up with a middle man and a car hire place. Car hire place said I could collect the car between 8 and 12. Turned up at 10.15 and was told third party T and Cs limited it to 8 to 10 there was absolutely nothing on the face of the agreement. Regardless of all the third party involvement we ended up down nearly £300 and with no car for a 20 day booking. We were stood in the middle of an industrial estate for 2 hours trying to sort. The car hire place says it happens all the time because they take 62 car bookings knowing that there are only 32 cars
Excellent customer service from Yana
Yana was very helpful and patient in finding flights that met my budgetary restraints, as well as the arrival and departure times which fit my schedule. She also contacted me to make sure that I had received the needed documentation and other information after she had emailed everything to me. I would recommend her to anyone.

I booked a car using Kayak - Never again
I booked a car using Kayak. I didn’t receive an email confirmation so tried to call the hire car company to confirm. The hire company Routes had no online presence but I realised they shared an address with Europcar so I called them. After being asked to call back on three different numbers and being on hold for 20 mins I managed to speak to the branch. They said they received my booking, but the cost I had paid didn’t include insurance. The total cost was in fact more than double what I had been quoted. I asked to cancel and for a refund. They said I needed to call Kayak. I spoke to Kayak. They said I needed to speak to Expedia who had handled the reservation. I called Expedia. They said I needed to speak to Europcar as they had taken the money. I have no car, I haven’t received a refund and I’m still being passed between companies. I wouldn’t recommend using Kayak, even though their service agent (Paul) was lovely and seemed to be genuinely trying to pick his way through to help me.

Scam Algorythim
It seems to be a scam site, on three occasions found a cheap tickets (Rome-Sharm El Sheik) and the (so called algorythem) said to wait as prices may go down in next 7 day, and in all three cases the prices quadrupled then they sent the msg saying prices had stabelised! I can understand it may happen once, but three times in a row seems very suspect! Very very bad experience not to be used...

**Terrible Experience with No Car and Insurance Issues!**
I booked a rental car through this website for Enterprise, but when I arrived in the morning to pick up the car, there was **no car available**! Despite having a confirmed reservation, the staff simply said they had no cars in stock and told me to go elsewhere. When I asked about my booking, they just shrugged it off, claiming there were no cars.
To make matters worse, I was charged for car insurance, but when I inquired about it, Enterprise told me they don’t sell insurance. Kayak, on the other hand, completely distanced itself, saying they are just a platform offering the best price. So, essentially, I ended up with **insurance for a car that was never rented**!
When I tried to cancel the insurance, the insurance company said there was **no transaction** or **policy number** under my name. This entire process caused me a lot of stress during what was supposed to be a relaxing vacation.
Overall, I would **not recommend** using this platform or trusting their services if you're looking for a reliable rental experience.

Terrible Experience with KAYAK and SURPRICE CAR RENTAL - No Support, No Car, and No Refund
I had an incredibly disappointing and frustrating experience with a car rental I booked through KAYAK, and I feel compelled to share my story to warn others.
I booked a car with SURPRICE CAR RENTAL through KAYAK, and the problems began immediately. Despite paying through KAYAK, when I arrived to pick up the car, SURPRICE CAR RENTAL claimed they had not received the payment. I contacted them multiple times—four or five times, in fact—and even had the border police reach out on my behalf. Every single time, they insisted they hadn't received the payment.
The situation got even worse when SURPRICE CAR RENTAL drove us to a remote location far from where we were supposed to pick up the car, only to tell us that no small cars were available. They offered no substitutes or alternatives, leaving us stranded in the middle of nowhere without a vehicle. We had already paid for the rental, so this was completely unacceptable.
But what really adds insult to injury is KAYAK’s complete lack of support. Despite reaching out to KAYAK to help resolve this issue, I received no assistance. As the platform that facilitated the booking and processed the payment, KAYAK should have ensured that the payment was securely transferred to the rental company. Instead, I was left without a car, no support, and a severely disrupted travel plan.
This experience was nothing short of a nightmare. I strongly advise anyone considering using KAYAK to think twice, as their lack of accountability and customer support has caused me a great deal of stress and inconvenience. I expected more from a company like KAYAK, but unfortunately, they failed to deliver even basic customer service in this situation.
Be aware of scams through Kayak
We booked a rental car through the Kayak website. When we arrived at Bucharest airport, it turned out that the rental company (Priceline) is a scam. There was no staff, shuttle or office, nor cars. We found out that Kayak is aware of the situation but continues presenting their offer as Priceline continues paying them.
Extremely Disappointing Experience with Surprice Car Rental and Kayak.com
I am deeply frustrated with the service provided by Surprice Car Rental, booked through Kayak.com (Confirmation Number: Ni2CG0fRRD2HMsf). Upon arrival at Sofia International Airport, I faced a wait of over 40 minutes without any assistance. When a car finally arrived, I was taken to a remote location, far from the airport, only to be told that my reserved vehicle was not available and no alternative was offered. To make matters worse, they took my money without delivering the service I paid for.
The staff were unprofessional and rude, leaving me stranded and distressed. This experience is a severe failure of customer service and reflects poorly on Kayak for not ensuring better standards from its partners. I demand an immediate full refund and expect Kayak to address these issues with Surprice Car Rental promptly. This has been a complete disappointment.
One of the worst hotel sites ever
One of the worst hotel sites ever. Check the site it says from 25 or something cheap. In reality every hotel is 400 or more and.that me being kind. Misleading and ridiculous. Avoid at all cost
Ignores search filters
Every time I request information on cargo vans, I’m given the option to filter my search results. After doing this, I get EVERY car size, from tiny to large. Totally ignores my search criteria if they can’t find a fit.
Misleading Fees and Unresponsive Customer Support
I want to share my experience with the websites Kayak and eDreams in hopes of helping others avoid losing their money through these scam sites.
I visited Kayak to purchase a ticket to Vancouver. I selected the ticket I wanted and moved on to the next step, but before I realized it, I had been redirected to eDreams. How I ended up on a different site from the one I started on is truly baffling. During the purchase process, they bombarded me with confusing ads to trick me into paying more for the ticket. In the end, after purchasing the ticket, I realized that my return flight was scheduled just a few hours after arriving in Vancouver. I had wanted a return flight for 7:00 PM, but they booked me for 10:00 AM instead. The way they pulled off such a big scam was astonishing.
I called eDreams, and they told me I needed to contact Flair, the agency responsible for the flight. Both companies kept passing me back and forth, and eventually, both said they were sorry and couldn't do anything to help.
So, if you value your time and energy, avoid Kayak and eDreams as much as possible. I should also mention that Flair has no regard for its customers. Because their flights are cheap, people don't often complain, which lets them get away with their poor service.
Hopeless for flights….
Hopeless for flights….. Crystal Travel and Travel Junction which are two heavily promoted travel agents for flights routinely offer cheaper flights which are never available. It’s a total con on their part. They say it’s dynamic pricing but they deliberately never update the real price to lure in contacts and then try to sell much higher priced tickets. TOTALLY DISHONEST
bought airline ticket on advertised…
bought airline ticket on advertised price on line. after paying they called me that the price changed , so I told them cancel but they didn't. they charged my credit card. I think it's a scam. just be aware. do not buy airline tickets from site affiliated with kayak. specially site CHEAPVUELOS.COM. they have bunch of Indian scammers working and lying to sell tickets.
How can this company continue to stay in business
I have never had so many issues booking a ticket. WORST
