I have used Katalyst at 2 locations as…

I have used Katalyst at 2 locations as a kitchen manager and both times with the same customer service representative Nicole . The product is easy to use and Nicole has been excellent at answering any and all questions . From phone calls to zoom or in person meetings I am very pleased with the customer service that has been provided .

Lack of commitment and service...

It really takes a lot for us to take the time to sit and write bad reviews for companies that we truly want to see succeed, but Katalyst leaves us no option after trying to get payment for over a month.

We really thought that Katalyst was the solution we needed to have a catering website and to manage our catering orders in one place. There definitely was a rush to get this account going and for us to sign up the account, but then after, the lack of attention to detail and lack of customer support was evident. We were assigned a customer support rep to handle everything we need and to support us throughout this process.

To say the least, many emails were unanswered for weeks, then when we would get responses, not all issues were addressed and we would have to continue to email. We even got to the point of offering suggestions on how she should be more effIcient when responding to emails.

And to top it off, we had our first order go through without any notification to us that there was an order placed. It just happened to be that the customer came in and told us that she had placed the catering order online. The response I get from our "rep" was that it is in the works to notify us of the order. WTH?!? Advised us to just stay signed on and to check daily. Really? But that isn't even the bigger problem. It has not been over 30 days since the order was placed and we still have not received payment. I asked for a direct check as we switched accounts and no response to those emails.

What is going on at Katalyst? Do investors know what is going on? This company has the potential to be great, but there is a lack of commitment. I had not researched reviews prior to signing on with them because I genuinely liked and believed their sales team and onboarding team. But from the looks of it, these issues are very similar to what others have experienced in the last year.

I would strongly recommend to do your research and don't fall for the empty promises. I have put a lot of time into this project and now I am left with looking for other solutions.

Unprofessional

The company I work for was in the process of onboarding some of our services with KatalystOS. Our representative, Nicole, was scatterbrained and inconsistent. There were large gaps in her communication with us, ranging from a few days to full weeks, just to be met with excuses from her such as "you know how the restaurant industry can be!" The communication between her and our other representative, John, was pretty much nonexistent. We filled out every form that Nicole sent over, and sent them to John as she instructed, only for her to circle back after days/weeks of silence to tell us yet again that we had not filled out the form. This happened several times, to the point where we were fed up. The straw that broke the camel's back was when we received an invoice from John where we were being charged a bunch of hidden fees - we had been told this would be completely free. I would not have written this review at all just based on that - however - despite us being very clear that we do not wish to move forward over a month ago (almost 2 months ago now), John has been PERSISTANTLY calling our sales office and our GM's cell phone since. He keeps asking to speak with our GM as to why specifically we decided to not move forward. Today he called again, this time stating "We need to speak with your GM regarding why he decided to not move forward, because we put a lot of work into this for you." More effort has been put into harassing us about why we aren't interested in their service than was actually put into onboarding us.

The table management feature was…

The table management feature was incredibly helpful in optimizing seating arrangements, especially during busy hours. The kitchen display system worked flawlessly, reducing errors and speeding up service. Additionally, the loyalty program was a major hit with our customers, encouraging repeat visits and boosting overall sales. Lastly, the support team was top-notch—always responsive and ready to help when needed.

Made promises they could not deliver on.

I signed up with this company after meeting them at a food show. They claimed to be so much better than the competition and especially better then what I was using. Made lots of promises about seemless migration of our systems and other cool features. They delivered none of this.

When it became clear Katalyst could not deliver I made the decision to revert back to our old system. The Katalyst platform was slow and clunky with way to many steps to create a transaction. Each transaction took about 45 seconds longer then our current system. This may not seem like a big deal but when doing 400-500 transactions a day it adds up.

I reached out to the CEO to cancel service and with some back and forth got him to do it but even though we had only used the system for less than one day they charged me almost $1500 in fees. Then when I tried to arrange return of POS equipment they told me they wouldn’t take it back. That was another $10,000!

I knew they were a relatively new company, only a couple years old but I had high hopes. They failed to deliver on every level.
