Decent Distribution, Slow Customer Service

I have been distributing my music with them since 2023, and so far, I haven't had any major issues. I will admit that their customer service isn't the best and often feels like you are talking to an AI, but if you give them proper time, they aren't that bad. I have been producing music since 2019 and have definitely seen worse. I did have one problem that took about two months to resolve, but they eventually got it done.

DO NOT GO TO THIS WEBSITE. I tried to release a song with them and guess what, they said that my account has nothing to do with music and I got blocked. VERY BAD

Bad Support

When I first submitted a song with Kami Records they gave me an email to "Ensure the intellectual property of your high-profile artist". I sent them the information that they needed and they got back to me 2 days later saying that my account had nothing to do with art or music. I sent them another email providing even more and they never got back to me. I also saw that someone else ran into this same exact issue. In my email "Jojo" who is supposedly the content manager/licensing & 3rd party said "Dear," and left the space after that blank. He didn't address the name and his email was a straight copy paste from other emails. This distributor has potential but not until they fix their support issues, and other things.

Inconsistent Review Process

Inconsistent Review Process

I currently have nearly 1,000 songs live across global DSPs, with all artist links properly attached and active. However, my recent release was rejected with the reason that my account shows “no activity related to art or music,” which is factually incorrect.

The issue is not the rejection itself, but the inaccuracy of the review reasoning. If there are specific policy or technical issues, they should be clearly explained instead of using a generic and misleading justification.

This experience raises concerns about the accuracy and reliability of the review process.

Extremely Unprofessional and Scam-Like Company

When I first opened Kami Records on Trustpilot, I noticed their ratings and reviews were already very poor. Many people shared negative experiences with them, and now I have personally experienced the same.

On 31st July, my payment failed because of a wrong PayPal email. They told me to update my email, and once I did, they said the payment would come in the next cycle. Today is 19th September, and despite emailing them 10 days ago, they never responded until much later. When they finally replied, they gave excuses about reports not being ready—even though the payment was from older reports which they had already received from stores.

Till today, they have neither responded properly nor released my payment. This shows how they unnecessarily hold artists’ money and waste their hard work. Their behavior is unprofessional, unreliable, and full of excuses.

Based on my experience and what I’ve read from others here, Kami Records is nothing but a scam. They hold payments without reason, mislead artists with excuses, and never process things on time. I strongly recommend that no one should work with them. Save your time, effort, and money—choose a professional and trusted company instead.

Horrible Experience

On the website they gave me an error, which boiled down to "... and to protect your rights Please provide signed documentation proving your rights to distribute this artist's content, and send an email from an account that can be linked to the artist's official profiles along with the artist's official media. Before distributing your songs, we need to verify your account...."

1, "and to protect your rights Please" wasn't my writing, that's the actual sentence casing and missing comma on the official website.

2, after writing an email to them, it took some time to get one back (2 days), but that's not at all an issue, it will absolutely take time when emailing really any company, but the email I got back was not at all helpful, or even made sense. i got told

"Dear,
We see that your account has nothing to do activity with art and music.
Unfortunately, your song will be rejected.
Kind Regard,

Jojo
Content Manager / Licensing & 3rd Party"

Not only did Jojo not add a name after "Dear", which could've at the very least been my artist name, but they had my actual name too, but they told me that my account "has nothing to do with activity with art and music." which, only does it literally contain the music i've made, but that sentence doesn't make sense.

overall, my short term experience was absolutely horrible, and i cannot imagine trying to stick around if this is what it's like after not even a week.

Disappointing and Insulting Experience

I recently uploaded my music to Kami Records, and the experience was simply unacceptable.

At first, they accused me of uploading stolen music, even though I provided all the necessary proof of ownership and copyrights. Instead of apologizing or admitting their mistake, they later told me that my music is not considered music!

Beyond the irony, this shows a blatant lack of professionalism and respect towards creators. Fortunately, I chose to release my work through another platform — one that doesn’t dismiss art so lightly.

I would not recommend Kami Records to any artist who respects themselves and their work.

NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! NONE!

The service is supposed to pick up movement. One out of 5 of the cameras on their service actually work in picking up movement, approx 90ish percent. One camera picks up one movement a day. I try to get in touch w/them to figure this out and it almost time for renewal. Maybe I needed an upgrade or something. No way to talk to a CSR. They send emails. At first its like a computer generated blah blah blah that they send ....eventually. Then after some time its a real email...which offers links to click on and figure out yourself. Then the final stage is offered, which is a chat. A chat?! Are you kidding me? As if I have time to sit down and type this out. It would take at least 30 minutes when it would take a 5 minute phone call. Its hard to believe they're still in business.

They've rejected a hit song writer because they are potentially scammers.

I am currently in the UK Talk Radio station charts hot 100, with my cover of Run to You, and an original song that I wrote, Lift Your Voice, and here's the feedback I got on the songs I uploaded to Kami Records.
" We see that your release has nothing to do with art and music, so we're rejecting the song release"
They've either not done their homework and googled me online, or are scammers. Don't touch this company with a barge pole

Contrary to what a lot of these people…

Contrary to what a lot of these people say, I've never had a problem with distribution with a small following. As for the money problem people are talking about, no. They don't actually steal money from what I've seen/heard. I've contacted them before about payment methods and how that gets set up and they stated once you make $20 they will have you set everything up to be able to get money into a (most likely) PayPal account. How foes the process work? Unfortunately, I have no idea. From the time span I've used them, (around a year or 2) I've never experienced bad customer service (besides no reply at one point which was weird to me) but that's it on my end.

SCAM Company!

They say on their FB and Webstie: "Kami Records provides music managers, labels, and artists of any size access to tier-1 distribution, licensing, and music marketing opportunities."
That's not true, they didn't accept my music because I don't have many followers which proves they are liars. This company is what is known in the music business as a PREDATORY company, meaning that they want established artists who are making a lot of income so they can steal a big chunk or steal it all without paying artist. Avoid this scam predatory company that is waiting for naive people to steal their money. All the best.

Avoid

Uploaded my album for immediate release around three weeks ago now, still nowhere to be seen, no way to contact them, after an arduous search only in their new dashboard you can click on a "contact support" and it just takes you to a blank page that says "security check" ??? I somehow dag up their email and they don't respond, no information in their website whatsoever other than "releases reviewed in 2 BUSINESS DAYS" - it's been almost 3 WEEKS - or in their FAQ, basically just stuff about payments which makes it seem really sketchy, and as cherry on top they have kind of a weird joint server with another obscure distributor called Vibeable that just redirects you to them for some reason which makes it extra shady, and then they redirect you to a weird alternate dashboard of ANOTHER ONE called Diskover?? Like they all share the same server?? Super sketchy and weird; and to top it all off a rare error in the platform let me know it's kind of a vietnamese venture which they don't show or say anywhere else while they claim to be based on the US and say what you want but it doesn't inspire me much trust - oh, and as icing on the cake no apparent way to delete your account for some reason
