The awning was missing a screw which wasn’t a massive deal, but did need replacing so we could use it. However, after a few calls & emails, we arranged for a repair whilst the RV was parked... See more

Hired a car from Melbourne to Adelaide for 3 days. Car broke down on the morning of the second day. Only part refunded. No replacement car brought to us. 3hr trip in tow truck back to Melbourne. Took over 10 hours to get back after the initial call in the morning. I did the right thing and reported the issue straight away and for that my trip was ruined.

Worst car rental company in Australia
Worst car rental company in Australia. We were rented a vehicle with serious safety defects. Upon return, these defects were confirmed and documented. Juicy generally doesn't respond to emails. All contact is blocked. Worst customer service ever.

Leaking camper van
Camper van provided leaking during rain. Contacted to customer service and no response. Customer service in this company is a joke. Even you have to pay little extra go with the better one. Never go with Jucy.
Bed bugs, broken car, a legit scam, stay away
Bed bugs, broken car, with 400,000km on this car. this is the worse experience I have ever experienced! Picked up the car from Cairns Australia, and plan on returning the car in Melbourne. Second day sleeping in the roof tent, I have found bed bug but didn’t know it was bed bug at first. Woke up with my entire back and leg covered in bites. I thought it was mosquito for the first couple of days, but it gotten worse. I have picture to show you guys how disgusting my skins are right now due to the bits from sleeping in the tent. It is covered in both of my arms legs and feet, and some on the chin and my back.
Second huge problem, on the third day the car got stucked in mud, and have to call them and paid $440 to get it out, and the girl on the phone call asking me to pay $3000 bound right the right even tho I have paid for the insurance.
Two days later, due to how old the car key is, it just snapped in half, and have to also paid $330 to get a locksmith to come and get a new key, thank god I was not in middle of nowhere.
And juts earlier today, the entire back bumper fall off in the middle of the highway. This car is literally on life support. Called JUCY customer, they tell me to pay for the fix and reimburse me later, like WHAT? I traveled with limited budget, I don’t have extra to cover it up. Anyways, ended up telling them I’m just going to duck tape it, they agreed, I told them I’m going to return the car early, because all of these issues, and they said due to policy they aren’t willing to pay back the dates when I return early. I’m literally going to call my credit card company when I get back and get my money back, because this is supposed to be a fun trip turned into absolutely disgusting nightmare with bed bugs biting me, car breaks down every two days, and when the weather gets cold it is also very hard to start up the car so good luck with that.
Edit from the response: yes the car stuck is not covered in the “insurance” only if you didn’t put a worn out tire on the car maybe the car will still have a grip and allows me to drive??
Second, your car key snapped in half and that’s only if you didn’t give me a worn out key that’s been used millions of times? Your car is old, and it is full of bugs why didn’t you address that? Respond to my email already, I sent it two days ago, I returned the car early but still never got any confirmation email.

terrible customer service
terrible customer service! they made us wait 6 hours on the side of the highway in the dark while they did very little and we had to fix everything ourselves.

Run away
Our experience with JUCY was very disappointing. The van had numerous issues: leaking windows (which we had to tape ourselves), a fridge that stopped cooling, a non-functional shower, broken curtain fasteners, dirty kitchenware, and missing essential items like a peeler or cutting board.
Even after following their recommendations (plugging in every 3 nights), the battery was not charging properly, and the fridge drained all power — confirmed by a mechanic we visited at our own expense. JUCY advised us to send a summary by email, which we did… but no one ever replied, even after multiple follow-ups.
We expected much more from a professional rental company, especially after paying for powered sites and enduring all these issues. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this service and will not rent with them again.

Perfect but there are minor faults
My boyfriend and I rented a Jucy Chaser (which came with an inbuilt shower and toliet) for 2 weeks in NZ. Overall, our experience was amazing given the price we paid- vehicle drove well, came clean and the shower was even warm! However, after about a week we did experience some faults with the vehicle, such as our sink starting to leak, the wheel alignment being out, and the door for the gas canister not shutting properly (which was dangerous when driving). This gave us the impression that any faults with the vehicles are simply patched-up in-between hires and are not properly attended to or fixed. However, despite many reviews calling out poor customer service, we didn’t find this at all, and when we requested a contactless drop off last minute the staff were extremely helpful and considerate. I would still 100% recommend JUCY for the budget traveller- just maybe don’t expect a perfect vehicle :)

Exactly the same negative problems with…
Exactly the same negative problems with another reviewer 3 days ago. Car leaking in passenger footwell, smells damp, squeaky front passenger wheel, extremely poor service. Customer service non existent. Told us to drive 2hrs to get another car .. not sure we’d get a better car! The seat had ruined my back very uncomfortable plus can’t put my feet out as dripping with water underneath dashboard area. Will definitely not use them again. Seeing the reviews they should be shut down for safety reasons.
UPDATE… the Brisbane depot were far more helpful and upgraded our car without any fuss! If you use this company I’d suggest using an SUV from them and not the smaller cars!

Very unhappy with Jucy car rental
Very unhappy with Jucy car rental. The car smelt really really damp but the lady said they didn’t have a other car for us so we drove it for half hour and decided to return it as it was awful, And surprise surprise she found another car for us. However that car had no lumbar support in the passenger seat and by the time we had driven 2 hours we had to stop as my wives back was really hurting from the seat. We purchased a cushion for the seat but it was too late her back was very sore. We carried on with the car and the cushion another 2 hours. And the next day she had to visit a doctor who prescribed pain relief which didn’t help much. As you can imagine being on holiday at the time with lots of plans that had to be canceled due to her hardly being able to move. 3.1/2 weeks of our holiday spoilt by the car with no lumbar support. To top that off when we told the young assistant on the cars return, the assistant thought it was funny and laughed. Needless to say won’t be using jucy again.

Discovercars.com…
We booked a rental through Discovercars.Com and that’s how we ended up with Jucy. Never again. Use a reputable company I.e. Enterprise, Hertz, Budget….anyone else. We purchased insurance through Discovercars.com when we made the booking and it was paid for at the time of the booking. When we got the rental car, we were asked about purchasing insurance for $25 NZ per day. I thought it was included in our original booking as we paid for insurance. I didn’t realize it was an additional insurance charge that they were adding on. Why would I purchase insurance for $25/day when I had already purchased and paid for insurance when I did the original booking. Very confusing. Stay away from third party companies because when there is a problem, Jucy doesn’t want to help the customer. STAY AWAY from this less than honest car company.

What a great company
What a great company, when we arrived, all I needed was my name,to find my booking (I am a pensioner) I was given a free upgrade at no extra cost.( I don't know why)The agent (Dee) was so good at explaining everything in the camper-van, (water, battery, air conditioning , shower, toilet cosset, etc. Once I produced my license I was ready to go in 10 minutes. No compilations what so ever.
This was a bigger camper-van than the one I booked, so I was a bit apprehensive, however during my 2 weeks travelling through Australia seeing other camper-vans, I was absolutely delighted for the extra space.
When I got back everything was also so easy,(I had taken out excess insurance for peace of mind)) I had no incidence. I just dropped off the camper-van.
I had no extra charges or fees or anything extra, I was so surprised there was no extra charges on my card.

I would give them 5 stars except for…
Overall, we were pleased with our Jucy experience. The campervan we rented functioned fine and got us from the north island to the south island in New Zealand without incident. When I reached out to team to express some minor concerns after our trip, they were responsive. I would recommend Jucy to anyone traveling in New Zealand.

The only honest review you need to read…
The only honest review you need to read today about Jucy Crib rental in Christchurch. Service was relatively fast upon check-in/check-out—not the best, but hey, you can't expect perfection.
You get what you pay for, these aren’t the newest campervans, and not everything will be ideal. These cars are constantly in use, but the value for money is definitely worth it.
Pickup and drop-off from the airport were smooth, and everyone was nice and polite. The car didn’t give us any trouble, despite having many kilometers on it. We loved all 15 days of our South Island trip, covering 3,600 km, and would book with Jucy again in a heartbeat.
Don’t pay attention to bad reviews from people complaining about small things—those are the kind of people who complain about everything. Jucy was definitely a great choice for us!

Camper Van
We hired a large camper van for two weeks from Jucy at Christchurch airport. The pickup was a little lengthy (2hrs) as there were minor issues with the van which were sorted out. Mary at reception was a superstar she was friendly and helpful, hence the forth star, The van was on the older side but lasted our trip with no mechanical issues, driving was easy and comfortable. Besides the contents of the T&Cs I feel the customer should be informed verbally about diesel fuel tax and that the vehicle will be replaced with another if there are aircon problems, roof water leaks etc. The person who conducted the pre-delivery hand over was not experienced and could not answer pertinent questions about the operation of the van. If I was not technically minded and vehicle savvy I would have struggled with a few things. Overall I was satisfied with my experience with this company and the customer service I received after returning the van.

Jucy campervans are poorly maintained
Absolutely not recomended. We rented a campervan i NZ, but the car had run more ½ mio kilometers - which in fact is not a problem IF THE CAR was well maintained. But it wasn't! There was no oil on the stick and the rib belt burst 1.200 km from pickup location. Hollydays had to be completely rescheduled with no help from Jucy

Sadly a really bad experience
Sadly a really bad experience
We rented a Jucy crib van to travel around Australia. Only two days after we got the van the front deck exploded on the highway. We called Jucy right away but it took at least 2 hours before they picked up the phone. They made a truck come to put the spare deck on wich also took a while and when they got the spare tire on it was flat. It took more than 4 hours before we got back on the road again. To get a new spare tire we had to drive to a mechanic and wait for one and a half our before they had fixed it.
A few days later the cooler stopped working and our food got bad so we had to throw most of it out. Also the air condition switched between hot and cold air which was annoying when it was really hot outside. Our gps also went out a lot of times. We contacted Jucy to get them to do something but they couldn’t help in a few days so they said we could buy some ice cubes for the cooler until they could help. We had a hard time reaching them after this.
Our bedsheets where then starting to get a bit disgusting so we wanted to wash them and we knew that Jucy would do that for us. So we contacted them and what they had forgot to tell us was that there were only a few places that could be done. When we asked them we were not at all near any of the places so it was not possible to get fresh sheets. We think that it is something they should inform us about before we start driving.
Due to the very bad weather in Airlie Beach today we wanted to get away and drive the 8 hours to cairns. Suddenly when we were driving the car started to smell burned. The speeder stopped working and smoke came out from the motor cooler. We called Jucy for assistance but it took us up to an hour. We did not know if it was safe to stay in the car so we were out in the rain that hour.
When we reached Jucy they sensed a man to check the car. He arrived after one more hour and said that the car battery could explode and that we should not drive any further but wait for a towtruck to pick us up. But due to the bad weather there was flooding so no one could get to us. We used 3 hours talking to every Jucy member and every time they hung up we needed to wait for 20-30 minutes before they answered. They told us different things and it was all very confusing. In the end a man told us we had to sleep in the van by the highway with cars and trucks driving fast by. We did not feel safe at all but there were no other options. A few hours later a woman crew member of Jucy that we had spoken with a couple of times felt so bad for us that she got a man picking us and our van up and driving us to a motel. We just think that it is weird because all the other Jucy people told us there was nothing to do.
That day we used over 7 hours in a broken van by the highway in rain.
We knew when we bought the van that it would not be perfect but it was cheap. It had a lot of scratches and stuff but we did not think about complaining about it. But all the other things just made the experience so bad. This was just not worth it.

Horrible Company - AVOID
The 2.5 star reviews seem to prove my point with our recent rental through Juicy / Star RV. What a shame, this company is absolutely disgraceful, and how it's still in operations is beyond me.
This is our 3rd year hiring a vehicle through Star RV/Juicy, and all prior years have had issues with the vehicles. Their depot managers offer no sort of remedy, apologies or even a partial refund for the inconveniences caused... What a disgusting company - there definitely needs to be some sort of ACCC investigation into Star RV and Juicy.
To make a long story short, there was a huge list of issues with our recent hire through them. We picked up our vehicle on Wednesday 5th March, and was suppose to be dropped off on the 12th of March. We started our travels on the 6th of March.
Firstly, we requested an Iveco campervan after the issues we had last year, as advised by their depot staff - which we ensured to confirm via email weeks prior to pickup. When we went to pickup the vehicle, of course they hadn't reserved our Iveco, and gave us, yet again, a Mercedes 6 Berth Campervan.
We had booked our rental MONTHS in advance, at least 6 months prior. They had plenty of time to ensure the vehicle was ready for our collection, and to our surprise, they didn't have a CLEAN vehicle ready for us... How is that possible?
After waiting at the depot for nearly an hour, I had to push them and informed them that I had a Drs appointment scheduled which I urgently needed to attend. After a lot of fluffing around, they finally offered me a vehicle, though advised the exterior was dirty - I happily accepted this offer as I presumed that it was only the exterior that was dirty, as clarified with their depot staff. They did offer me a small refund of $190 (ish), out of our $2200+ rental, and called it a "Dirty Getaway".
To further crunch the crux of the issues: 1. Buckled floors throughout the entire campervan. 2. Toilet cassette broken, the puck that separates the toilet and the interior was broken, meaning the entire campervan smelt of human feces. 3. Gas was leaking, smelt throughout the campervan. 4. Smoke alarm kept going off by itself for no reason, had to uninstall and remove battery. 5. Mold on the pull down window shade adjacent to the sink/above the front bed. 6. No toilet chemicals were provided, even though I clarified this and told them we had issues last year with not being provided toilet chemicals. 7. Fridge stinks like mildew, as if it has never been cleaned out. Even if they just chuck an ozone generator in it for a few hours, that would've fixed it. 8. Called their CS on Saturday at 9am, was told I'd receive a call back, never did. Had to call again today, Monday, demanding a refund.
They are refusing a refund, and keep putting the blame on the customer. I am now at a point where I have to send them a legal notice of intent to proceed with a court hearing through VCAT. It is disgusting it has to get to this point, though again, their low rating proves that this company continues to operate outside of the Australian Consumer Law.
We received good service
We were impressed with the service when we picked up our camper-van, especially since prior reviews had been rather harsh about staffing problems. In contrast, the Jucy reps were fully on- top of their game & got us on the road in maybe 20 minutes. We should have asked more questions about the toilet operation, and the staff forgot to give us the toilet chemicals. The van was a bit worn mechanically, with slightly loose steering and bouncy shocks - it took strict attention to drive safely on some of the narrow twisty roads. But overall it performed pretty well. We had a minor leak during rainy weather, at the right side of the upper bunk. We found the lower bed much more comfortable than the upper bunk. Upon returning the van, once again the staff service was professional and quick. Overall, we’re well satisfied with Jucy.

Terrible company and horrible customer service
If I could give this company a zero I would. AVOID
Myself and my partner rented the Star rv Polaris 2 for a week in Feb 2025. The air con unit in the cabin and the gas cooker did not work from when we initially picked it up. This became a problem from the second night onward and trying to get through to customer service was a complete waste of time. The most unhelpful service assistants I have ever dealt with. One lady who will remain anonymous took our call in the early afternoon of Monday the 17th and promised to call us back the following morning as "air con repair" in our area which was Coffs Harbour at the time was not open. She never called us back the next day so I rang again the following morning and another lady got us a late afternoon apointment at 3pm in renovan 20 mins outside of Byron Bay. We went to the appointment and were told to come back at 9:30am the next morning and were then told it could take a day or 2 minimum to be fixed and due to the fact of only having the campervan for a week found this a complete waste of our own time and a disgrace on the companies behalf. Long story short I would advise anyone looking for a campervan rental in Australia for the East coast in particular to avoid this company.
I recieved a call from a manager at this company who was the only person who actually helped. He did compensate us for this but the amount in my opinion was too little (40% off day rates) but I did not argue as he was polite and I just wanted to be finished with it. A true disappointment of an experience.

Corolla on a budget!
I rented a Corolla from Gold Coast Airport for six weeks. As a bang for bucks proposition don't look further. They were a pleasure to deal with. The car was on the older side but well maintained and far superior then any new MG or the like! I cannot recommend enough!
