Dear All, It is very disappointing to have to write a response to a factually incorrect review, which could damage a small business, especially on the 22nd of December, but here we are.
This message is for all to read. We are Joslin Surveyors. Rics Qualified Surveyors. We have also been Energy Assessor 17 years. Today, at 3pm. we received a phone call asking "Where we were, and are we coming?" I shall explain.
We are registered with a number of lead generation websites. The one this review refers to is www.myconstructor.co.uk
We are listed on this site as Energy Assessors. The system works for us as a business by giving dates and areas that we can cover for Energy Performance Certificates, Myconstructor pairs our dates with potential customers.
Myconstructor collect the customers payments, and once the job is completed, they pay us a percentage and keep the admin fee. The system normally works very well.
We were offered this EPC to us on the 15th of December. Unfortunately we were not in the area on the 22nd December (today) and we declined the EPC. We didn't receive any money
Our portal was updated, and the job was not sent through to us. Myconstructor have records of this too.
We have no records of the customer, and Myconstructor is then suppose to cancel the job, and tell the customer.
At 3pm the customer called us direct to find out where we were.
This is an unfortunate issue and I can understand the client's frustration.
We offered our next available date after Christmas. This was not suitable.
At no stage had we previously spoken to the customer, confirmed the appointment, or received any money.
I understand the customer has received a full refund from myconstructor.
We have been in business 17 years, and highly qualified, and regulated by RICS.
Our customer service and standards speak for themselves with over 5000 EPCs completed
We are extremely disappointed with todays issues, and myconstructor not updating the client.
That is their mistake.
However, we are very unhappy that a customer can write scathing reviews, across multiple review websites, creating damaging false accusations about our business, which may impact us moving forward.
I am asking customers to contact us directly, if they are in any doubt if they should work with us in the future, and take this review written by this particular customer on its merits.
We are very sorry we could not attend today, and have raised our own complaint against my constructor. Human error does happen from time to time, and on this occasion it's very unfortunate, but to write numerous reviews damaging our business, for a simple technical error is well, I will let the public make their minds up.
I would appreciate this poor review removed please, and I hope you manage to get your EPC completed swiftly.
Stephen Joslin
