Buyer Beware - Store credit / 15% restock fee on returns
I had a bad experience with JoeBobOutfitters’ labeling and return terms. I ordered what their site described as a “Gen 2” part. The item I received was the Charlie Atlas model, which—per the manufacturer’s own pages—isn’t a Gen 2 product. The merchant’s site has two separate listings: one titled “Rearden Atlas SilencerCo CHARLIE GEN II …” (which applies “Gen II” to Charlie Atlas), and another for “Rearden Atlas Gen II …” (the actual Gen 2 part). That naming is confusing and led me to believe I was ordering the true Gen 2 version.
When I contacted support, I was told their policy is store credit or a refund to the original card minus a 15% restocking fee. They enforced that even though the listing’s “Gen 2” wording does not match the manufacturer’s designations. The conversation was adversarial; rather than acknowledging the ambiguity, I was told the mistake was on me.
Bottom line: the return policy is punitive and the product labeling is inconsistent with the manufacturer, which creates an easy trap for customers. If you consider buying here, verify the exact model name with the manufacturer before checking out. I won’t be ordering again.
