It was to the point, and propulsive

Jericho writers has a ‘nice feel’ about it. It is not pushy or seemingly exploitative. It is an organisation I would happily approach without my guard up having put the scepticism back in its holster. Seems like a really good organisation .

Invaluable regular insights and tips - especially for tyro, wannabe published authors.

They have some good advice on getting into writing. I have followed their 'getting an agent' thing, that's not too bad either. However, the thing that has annoyed me to no end is when I risked £337 on review of agent submission. Before I embarked on this, I had this story read by two writers' groups, and a child (it's a story for children). I didn't expect a glowing response on the submission, but I was shocked to find that my submission was so bad, the agent couldn't even get through it. Initially, I blamed myself, I thought I was the worst writer ever. Until a friend pointed out that I paid the agent to read my whole submission. I then sat down and spent 6 hours proving that she had not read my submission because she did NOT know the story. She made comments that clearly showed she had NOT read it. I did NOT want to be in touch with this agent ever again. The reply I received was so pathetic, I could not bring myself to waste MORE time going back and forth with a bunch who ignored my main concern: The agent had not read my submission, though she was paid to read it! I should not have had to bring it up, let alone waste hours proving it, and then when I did, they completely ignore my concern. It was a complete and utter waste of money, time, energy, and don't even get me started on the heartbreak it caused me. I will not ever again join Jericho. I am giving them one star for the fact that they have some resources. Otherwise, my experience with them has been minus five stars.

Outstanding line editing

I commissioned Jericho for a line edit of my manuscript and was thrilled with the results. I worked with Mary Torjussen, whose expertise really shone through. She focused not just on errors, but on the rhythm and flow of my prose, elevating the narrative while preserving my voice. Receiving both tracked changes and a clean final copy made the process smooth and straightforward. I can’t recommend Mary highly enough.

Every week, I wait impatiently for Becca's weekly update and Harry's Friday feedback. I have so benefited from Jericho, having been a premium member for the last 3 years and attending 2 festivals. Your advice is excellent, as was your review of my first 500 words. I am now in the last stage of my first draft of my third novel and, largely thanks to you, feel confident about its prospects. Thank you.

Jericho writers is a great group to be part of. They give so much upliftment and information to writers, with courses and talks to help turn dreams into reality.

To be honest I may be one of the least expected to leave a review based on my lack of interaction. I chose to forge my own path as I have always done, much to the chagrin of my own personal ego. I always thought that with enough "gumption" and "work-horse heart", that you could accomplish everything short of a miracle (jury's still out on the miracle thing...maybe hit, what, 34th street or whatever...?). I can honestly say, though, Brits have hearts of gold. I may be red, white and blue, but they are beyond color, they are Spirit, which is no color, only Light. I plan to interact more in 2026...this is NOT a resolution, this is a FACT. I also recommend everyone to forgo Facebook and their "so-called" author support groups and join with people who actually (dare I say??) "Give a Damn!". I will be talking to you all soon and thank you for everything you have done to help me thus far on my literary journey.

I haven't as yet taken up premium membership, but I already benefit from the encouragement and advice via Harry's Friday emails and other comms. They are little beacons of motivation and inspiration!

The courses, writing festivals, 1-2-1 agent sessions, manuscript reports and other resources are all excellent quality and have been invaluable for me as an aspiring author. It is also great to be part of such a vibrant and supportive writing community.

The latest Path to Publication course I recently took part in has been my favourite course so far. It was fun, well run and well taught by the experienced and lovely Kate Harrison. I feel it has taken my writing to another level, allowed me to fine tune my pitch, and increased my confidence in querying agents.

I started Jericho's self publishing course expecting to be put off going down this route. Instead Debbie Young's infectious enthusiasm guided us through the tasks needed to publish our books to a professional standard. What's more, she convinced me it was eminently do-able. Three months after my final review with Debbie, my book Burnt Siena is out there in the world and looking good. Thank you Debbie and Jericho.

My Christmas Present to myself as I have big dreams and goals for my writing in 2026! I've attended a number of free workshops in 2025 and I've learnt so much and been inspired to work even harder to make my writing dreams come true.

I’m hugely enjoying Jericho so far. The breadth of resources and topics covered is fantastic and I’ve learnt a lot already.

Going it (almost) alone on a writing journey, it's daunting. There's excitement quickly dashed by imposter syndrome, there's de ja vu, re-writing the same thing over and over again, and there's abject loneliness in the struggle to come through with something worthy of a stranger's time. The help offered by Jericho Writers is, firstly, free, with a wide range of courses also available for a fee, but it's a window into a safe learning environment for the self-doubting debut author and a chance to re-engage with the possible.

I love Jericho Writers. It gave me the essential foundations for writing and planning. I am not a member, but I still benefit a lot from this. THANK YOU SO MUCH Jericho for all the resources.

Jericho Writers is an invaluable resource for writers. I can't emphasize enough how the support they offer has kept me from giving up. My recent developmental edit with Lesley McDowell validated what I'm doing right and gave me expert advice on where and how to improve my manuscript. I've learned a great deal from Jericho Writers.
