Exploring the world of Japanese sweets
Firstly, I love their website, it's one of the cutest websites I've seen! The assortment of snacks is fantastic, with a mix of sweet and savory treats that are all so unique to me. I love getting the chance to try all of these different sweets and Kit Kats which I wouldn't even have known of if not for Japan Crate!

My husband prepaid 6 months of the…
My husband prepaid 6 months of the snack boxes as a gift for our anniversary. After receiving all 6 boxes, I can say that these are NOT worth it. Some snacks were already expired or expiring in just 2-3 months. They do offer a variety but if you like savoury more than sweet snacks, you’ll be disappointed.

The clarify, the date on the item is not the expiration date. The date that is mentioned on the packaging of our products such as candies, chips, dried noodles, drinks, and other Japanese snacks, is something that is referred to as shoumikigen (賞味期限), also known as the Best Before Date.
The Best Before Date is the final date that the manufacturer deems the item to be fresh, it is still safe to consume up to 3 months after the fresh date as long as the product is still sealed.
We understand that variety is key to making sure our customers enjoy the contents of their boxes and we are constantly looking for ways to spice things up. We are constantly working on improving our product and adding more variety. We will be sure to pay extra attention to the contents in our upcoming boxes and make sure that they meet your expectations. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any further concerns.

Customer service is far better than Tokyo Treat. but the packages are a bit expensive.

A monthly snacking adventure
Part of the reason I started this snack box is to try different snacks. However, there are a few snacks that I have received the same brand and flavor. For example, the Fettucine grape gummy snack. I like that snack, but have tried it. It would be nice to see it in other flavors. I enjoyed the themed boxes, like Persona 5 and Halloween. The pamphlet describing the snacks turned into a fun snacking adventure. I appreciate the balance of savory and sweet snacks.

Needs more chocolate
I enjoy the boxes, but there’s a lot of stuff that I don’t think anyone would enjoy outside of Japan. Like Sardine chips? No thank you. Of course I try them, but it feels like such a waste because after the first taste, I’m done. We know these snacks aren’t expensive in Japan, so give us some good stuff. It has to be worth the money. And I have a year subscription so don’t let me down!

Any time I've had to reach out to customer service, they've always been quick to respond and help resolve the issue in any way they can. They're also quick to send out emails if there's any delays which is also nice.

I think there are cute things that I’ve been started using daily but there are some months we’re I’ve gotten repeat things from previous boxes so it feel a little underwhelming when I get the same thing in a diff color 😭

I would have given 5 stars, however our last box barely had anything in it. It was very disappointing. I hope it was a fluke, because if it happens again I may cancel.
Other than that the boxes are awesome my son and I look forward to them every month!

Amazing!! Every month a new design it’s so exciting and you get to try a new drink every month. So happy with this service you can pause or skip each month if you want to. Great customer service always friendly and helpful.
