Mr. Medure has been a fantastic college counselor, and with his help I was accepted to my dream schools, including UPenn, Cornell, and Columbia for engineering! When I first started working with him in 11th grade, I had no idea how to even approach college applications, but he did a wonderful job guiding me through the process. From our very first meeting, he took the time to understand my goals and who I am as a person, and helped me find the story I wanted to tell through my applications. He is also incredibly easy to talk to, and our weekly meetings always brought some humor and joy to what can otherwise be a really stressful process. He went above and beyond to support me, whether that was through discussing dozens of essay ideas or giving countless rounds of honest feedback until I was truly proud of every essay. I would highly recommend Mr. Medure to any student applying to colleges!

I started my junior year of college with zero research experience. It was Mr. Medure who guided me through the process of securing my very first research experience: he taught me how to connect with professors during office hours, helped me think strategically about networking, and connected me with internship opportunities that allowed me further explore my academic career interests. I have continued my internship for over a year, and the professors I first spoke with during classes eventually become the strongest recommendation letter writers and now my future PhD advisors for the next five years.

When it came to the PhD application process, Mr. Medure provided incredibly honest, practical, and strategic advice that helped me present my experiences and research goals in the strongest possible way. He guided me in identifying programs and professors to reach out to, advised me on when and how to send cold emails, and offered detailed feedback on my statements through many rounds of revisions. We worked together to submit each online application and discuss interview strategies. Even though my research area was outside his primary expertise, I gained incredibly helpful advice on solidifying my research interests and became increasingly confident in presenting my work during interviews and campus visits.

Beyond the technical aspects of the application, what I appreciated most was his genuine investment in my growth. PhD applications can be extremely stressful, but Mr. Medure consistently took the time to listen to my concerns, offer honest perspectives, and help me make thoughtful decisions that best prepared me for my future.

I was fortunate to receive multiple PhD offers and will be starting my doctoral studies this fall. I truly believe that I would not have reached these milestones without the guidance and support from Mr. Medure and IvyNow. Mr. Medure is a very responsible and dedicated counselor. With his guidance, I’m always able to finish my tasks one week before the deadline. His feedback on my essays is usually sharp and insightful, and after reading his comments, I can clearly see the weaknesses in my writing.

What I appreciate most is that Mr. Medure never directly rewrites my essay. Instead, he gives suggestions and lets me revise it independently. This makes my essay feel much more authentic—closer to who I truly am and what I genuinely want to express—rather than an “industrialized essay” produced by an agency.

When Mr. Medure is satisfied with the content, he helps me polish the grammar and refine the language so that the essay stays within the word limit, reads more smoothly, and becomes stronger in overall writing quality. I feel very fortunate to have met such a thoughtful, honest, and hardworking college counselor during my application process.

Ronnie provided outstanding guidance throughout my high school years. In 10th grade, he helped me design a professional course plan align to my engineering major goals and guided me in applying to summer programs to strengthen my profile. During the college application process in 11th grade, he worked closely with me on my Personal Statement and supplemental essays, offering detailed feedback and multiple revisions. He was also extremely knowledgeable about the Common App and college selection, always responding promptly and professionally to my questions. With Ronnie’s thoughtful planning and dedicated support, I ultimately received the offer from the University of Michigan’s Engineering program. Choosing Ronnie as my college advisor was absolutely the right decision, and I am deeply grateful for his mentorship and guidance.

Mr. Medure was incredibly organized and helped me craft quality essays for everything from summer programs to college applications. He's also very knowledgable about the entire process from selecting colleges for your list (regarding social & academic fit) to navigating financial aid after admission. He's very personable and easy to get along with, which definitely made the process so much easier for me and my parents. Whether we had questions about a particular major at a college or concerns about essay themes, he always provided valuable insights. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and if I apply for further education (i.e. grad school, med school, etc...), I'll definitely ask for his help!

Mr. Medure was extremely helpful in guiding me through the college application process, providing comprehensive and thoughtful feedback and guidance, from summer school applications to helping me become the first student from my high school to be directly admitted to Columbia University. When we first started three years ago, I had little idea of what I wanted to study and how to apply/what to apply for, but through our many meetings and discussions, I not only gained a better sense of the direction I wanted to go in but also a solid understanding of specific, tangible steps in the application process (deadlines, breaking down essay prompts, how to send test scores, etc.). He provided guidance with my activities, like gaining a valuable research opportunity with a well-regarded professor in a field I was interested in, and gave specific program recommendations. When I started my college application journey, I was overwhelmed and didn’t know what to expect. Mr. Medure helped me organize my applications and streamline the application process. His helped contributed greatly to my acceptances at John’s Hopkins, UNC Chapel Hill Honors, and University of Florida.
