No wait at the nice new Pisa airport rental hub which is 2 minutes walk away from the car. No hard sell on insurance nor fuss on return. We took photos and added some marks to the contract, which... See more

Collection was efficient and we were pleased to receive a brand-new car.
Unfortunately, the return experience was very different. Italy Car Rent claimed there were tiny marks that were barely visible and is now seeking over €800 in damage charges, which we strongly dispute as excessive and unsupported.
We had purchased our own excess insurance rather than theirs. During the return inspection, the representative commented that if we had taken their insurance, "everything would have been OK," which left us very concerned.
My advice is to photograph and video every part of the car at collection and return, and check all paperwork carefully. Based on our experience, I would not use this company again.

Car was very old, very damaged. There was so much damage you could not even check the damagereport. By check out, they found a spot on the doorhandle, video i made of the car by check in was not official the said. They charged me 295 euro for a little spot. Be aware of this company, they give you old cars just to scam you.

Stay far away from Italy Car Rent—this company is running a complete extortion ring targeting tourists! Upon returning our vehicle, their staff unilaterally conducted the return inspection entirely on their own, without us present. This was clearly done in bad faith to prevent us from reviewing the vehicle's condition together. They then hit us with a fraudulent €831.00 charge for alleged "damages" to the doors and windscreen.Fortunately for us, we captured complete, time-stamped video documentation of the vehicle's exact condition both immediately at check-out and upon check-in. Our evidence proves indisputably that the minor marks they are claiming as "new damages" were either pre-existing or completely fabricated. We absolutely refuse to pay for damages caused by others.A quick look at online reviews reveals that this is their exact "hit-and-miss" scam tactic—they regularly abuse the check-in process to illegally charge unsuspecting customers for pre-existing wear and tear.We are currently initiating a formal fraud dispute through our credit card company, filing complaints with European consumer protection authorities, and taking legal action. Do not trust this company. Save yourself the nightmare and rent from a reputable, honest business instead!

Italy car rent is always my no.1 choice in Cagliari. The office is straight outside arrivals hall and cars only a few steps outside the terminal. Never had a problem in more than 10 + rentals in the past few years.

Terrible service. Kept my pregnant wife and I three hours late after our booked pick up time. Rented us a banged up car covered in scratches. Then proceeded to charge us €700 in 'repairs' when clearly the car has never had any of it's existing damage repaired. Avoid at all costs.

They have charged me 500 euros for an almost invisible scratch on the edge of the wheel . It's so tiny that i had to ask them to mark it in the photo they've sent me and i had to zoom in to actually notice it . It looks like they have done it so to find an excuse just to charge me .
Stay away from this company , they are trying to scam you !!!

The worst company ever, they take benefit of you 2 hours delayed flight to bill you an upgrade (for me 280 euros EXTRA for a one week rental). Many many customers were complaining for similar reasons at the office and they were not on my flight. I was 2 hours in their office and I saw 8 diferents customers being scammed. They know you do not have the choice to choose another company once you are there and you already paid yours. I complaint to Booking.com too which is cautioning their activity.
AVOID THIS COMPANY, SOUTH OF ITALY COMPANIES NEED TO BE VERY VERY CAREFUL CHOSEN. I Recommend the MAJORS companies in this area (hertz, avis, sixt, europcar)

We had a bad experience with them. We rented a car from them for a week. The car they gave us came in minutes' before it was turned over to us. The hood was still hot. It was dirty (really filthy...), but that's fine. We took lots of pictures of the damage, and went off on our way.
When we returned they found a small ding, very hard to see by naked eye. I have pictures, even on the picture they guy had to circle it out because it was impossible to see. Imagine if I could have seen it, and taken a pic of it, with a filthy car... And they charged us 250Euros for the "damage".
Will never rent from them again. And if you do, please watch out: ask for the car to be washed, so you can see even the smallest of the small damage, and take tons of pics!

Kept us waiting for an hour to hire the car and then an hour to leave in the blasting hot summer sun. Lots of unhappy customers. Very unfriendly staff who are also in the heat waiting to speak to someone. They charge you double insurance even though you already paid through booking.com, plus they reject certain types of cards. Terrible terrible company to hire from. Don’t wait your time and money and go to a trusted place.

We always use Italy car Rental at Catania Airport in Sicily. The service is always quick, efficient and friendly in both collecting and returning the rental car and their rental prices are very competitive. I would always look to use Italy Car Rental ahead of any others.

Scam!
They charge for damages that were pre-existing and when I send the photo they said it was not sufficient evidence.
They also charged damages for a front bumper scrape which they are by law not allowed to expect you to inspect at pick up so based on all the damages on the car at pick up it was already there at pick up and they just use it to make extra money.
I will be disputing the charges and taking it further as the damage is less than 1 cm which falls under normal wear and tear.
Stay away from this terrible company!

Did not provide a proper damage log of car, minor scratches noted but huge damage to wheel not, asked for damage to be noted however immediately after drop off out of hours received an email to say 760 euros would be deducted despite having a signed record of the damage and this was rebutted immediately. A deliberate money making scam unfortunately and I am not the first to report this.

Fiumicino airport italy car rent desk declined my nat west uk mastercard for a security deposit on a prepaid car hire saying it was an Internet bank card. Given delay and no option with young children we had no option but to transfer the booking to my son with a 1 euro hold on his lloyds mastercard and then me paying for an unnecessary comprehensive insurance and transfer fee that was more than the origional rental cost.
I confirmed with Nat West my card was a valid normal bank mastercard with no restrictions. I have approached italyrentcar who are unable to explain why they declined the card this time other than their terms and conditions change . This seems to imply they can set arbitrary criteria to increase charges at rental desk with customers under duress. Avoid this company

The car had over 20 marks on it when we collected which were highlighted and we found a couple more that were added to the list. When we returned the car the guy seemed to know exactly where to head and found the smallest mark near the front bumper beneath some dust. Of course we got charged E340 for the 'damage' . My fault in that I should have refused to accept the car in such bad condition and we all know that is the way that these secondary rental companies make their money. At least I had separate insurance but even so no-one likes to be ripped off. Hey ho, what goes round comes round!

These guys are consistently cheaper. Cars are good, often new. No quibble and fast pick up and drop off. Used themnin Italy, Spain, Portugal. All same. Good guys.

Very happy With this rental! We booked via Uber and having missed the fact that the person retning must have a credit card they fixed the problem for us!
