We've been a customer of IM for 10 years. We signed a 1 yr contract on 6/1/23 for shredding service. They informed me today they will no longer honor the contract, after 6 months. The service charge increased 30%. We have cancelled this service immediately. A business that doesn't honor their contracts shouldn't get your business.
Instructions were given and acknowledged for the location of our bin delivery. Driver went to the wrong entrance in our absence, and took the bin away again. Iron Mountain would only deliver by courier if WE paid the fees. Next delivery date available means that due to their strict 4 week turnaround, we will loose 2 weeks due to our Christmas shutdown. Extremely unreliable, and unprofessional. They could have paid for the delivery fee to make up for their error but it looks like this was a narrow escape if this is how they treat new customers.

Iron Mountain has proven itself to be an unreliable, rip-off company. I recommend that NO ONE contract with them for services. We had paid for storage of files for over 30 years (with the predecessor company and then with Iron Mountain when they acquired the business about 15 years ago). More recently, we had to terminate our contract, because they continued to raise their fees – higher than the rate of inflation. As a small business, we could no longer afford it. When we asked to discontinue the service, they charged us exorbitant fees to terminate our contract and deliver the remaining files to us. They would not allow us to pick up the files ourselves unless we paid a fee higher than their delivery fee. We seemed to have no alternative, so we paid the excessive fee and scheduled a day on which that said they would deliver the files to us. However, they refused to give us a time estimate other than 8AM to 5PM. They told us to call on the morning of the delivery day to get a better estimate. On that day, we called multiple times, and the time estimate remained the same: 8-5. THEN, after we waited the entire day, they failed to come at all! We had cleared our schedules and workloads for the day, and THEY NEVER ARRIVED! The combination of incompetence and overpricing makes them, in my mind, a company to avoid at all costs.
Iron Mountain has terrible customer service. We have contracted with IM to come onsite to shred documents. They have given us three different appointments and no one has shown up for any of them. When I call IM to tell them no one has shown up they say they will look into it and call me back. No one ever calls me back. I have left voicemails, emails and a message on their website - without response.
This company is a ripoff!!! We are trying to retrieve our records to close out our account. I have asked if we can come and pick them up and the answer is no but they want to charge us over $10,000 to retrieve, it's ridiculous. We are paying $750 a month for something we no longer utilize and the prices keep increasing!
Looks like I had a luck escape here. I must read reviews more often. Don't bother with this company as they are impossible to do business with. I have been trying to order items for over 2 months now without success so have finally given up. How they have any customers I will never know and given the reviews below the ones they do have seem to want to leave.
Iron Mountain is absolutely the worst company. Once they have your records they make it as difficult as possible to get them back and get out of their contract. So if you sign up be prepared to pay for a very long time.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING!!!
Iron Mountain is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Their customer service and on-site service is not existent. They will adjust your rates 20-50% every chance they get and if you do sign a multiyear contract with caps they will just make up more fees to add to your bill like; Metro zone service fee, fuel surcharge, paper recycling fee, etc
Three months ago I had them pick up two of our three bins. 3-2=1. Got billed for the extra pickup for those bins. Next month, I get a bill for three containers. Called and explained problem. They sent over new bill for one container. Then they billed my credit card for both invoices!! Still waiting for credit back. Next month I get bill for three containers. Call and explain problem and how not to fix like last time. Get new bill for one container. Credit billed for both invoices. Still waiting for credit. Just repeated same cycle for the THIRD time. Overseas operators do not understand problem or how to fix it. No one seems to care. Can't wait to cancel service completely in a few months. DO NOT USE THEM!
Day 18 still have not received my pay cheque. You will also fall while under a time constraint due to the amount of papers that are on the floor everywhere, and the supervisor will belittle you and others. You can call and email all contacts with no resolve. If you dont believe my testimony apply today.
First of all, they shouldn't get even 1 star ! I would say that Iron Mountain customer care is horrible, but non-existent is more like it. They have been totally non responsive. I have tried repeatedly to have a shredding bin switched out. I am hiring another company to do our shredding. The other company returned my call within the hour and will bring a bin within 2 days.
Never, ever call the 800 customer service number . . unless you have a bottle of Advil handy. The folks at customer service aren’t there to help you, they’re there to give you the most aggravating experience you will ever have. They take forever to answer the phone, they have very poor command of the English language. They transfer you from department to department. They ask you questions only they have the answers to but are too stupid to even understand that. Stay away from Iron Mountain! They are brain dead, managed by brain dead and almost certainly owned by thieves. I‘m sure they’re aware of all of this poor service but could care less . . they just want to keep stealing your money. The only thing they’re great at is putting you on eternal hold.
On notifying Iron Mountain of the possibility that we wished to terminate our contract with them due it is a nightmare trying to contact them to progress the termination. They have failed to respond to emails repeatedly and not sent emails/documents when they have stated they would, probably to rack up more charges! The service has been absolutely appalling AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
On giving notification to terminate due to their excessive costs it is a nightmare trying to contact them to progress the termination. They avoid you at all costs just to charge you additional months of storage. In comparison to other companies their rates are triple and their service is appalling. Avoid this company.
scammers, they keep charging our credit card, steer clear of these shysters. zero stars is more accurate.
Integrity. Iron Mountain no longer have integrity. They are scamming more customers. Hundred accounts are receiving multiple increase in a year. There is even monthly. Unnessary charges. Most miserable is those who are on autopay. Indians are the ones doing this and we from the Philippines are just looking at it.
Do not use this company. Once you start they refuse to let you cancel. Our business has been trying to get them to close our account and destroy records but they will not respond to emails, customer service hangs up on calls.
I wish I had read the reviews on here first, then I wouldn't have wasted a few hours speaking to Iron Mountain. I contacted then for a quote - they rang me, set up a meeting, we had an online meeting, they seemed very enthusiastic, said the quote would be with me in next day or so - well that was 3 weeks ago, and despite chasing i've been fobbed off constantly and now no contact. I've now given my business to a local firm who i am very happy with and no doubt were a lot cheaper than Iron Mountain anyway - total lack of communciation, appalling follow up - how they get any customers or keep them is beyond me.
the good: Nothing....
the Bad: after repeated bills that where double what our agreement stated. I spent a lot of time on hold to get the invoices corrected. So I cancelled our service. Because the last pick up was now out of our service agreement time, due to cancelation, they charged double for the final pickup. I am still waiting for the final invoice. I can't access my account to get a copy, because of course my account is now closed. Also they forgot to pickup the bin and i have not been able to get them to pick it up from my business.
I am beyond frustrated. Needs minus stars
It's more than a month I am trying to get some clear information about how their data centre in London is powered. They promote themselves as a "green" company but there is no clear information about how the data centres are powered. Is it a green washing operation? Every time I contact them regarding this topic they send me to different email addresses, some of those don't even work. It's a terrible experience and I don't suggest anyone to chose this company
