We recently took an 8-day small-group tour of Ireland with Peter Cooney, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Peter is a fabulous tour guide who combines extensive knowledge, professionalism, and genuine Irish hospitality.
During the tour, we visited all of the major sites and attractions in Southern Ireland, including many of the destinations visitors come to Ireland to see. What made the trip truly special, however, were the many unique locations that larger tour groups never seem to visit. On several occasions, we were the only tour bus at a stop. Peter clearly has insider knowledge and access to hidden gems that provide a more authentic Irish experience.
The tour offered excellent value. All hotel accommodations and attraction entrance fees were included in the upfront price, which was very reasonable. There were no surprises, allowing us to relax and enjoy the experience. The hotel accommodations were all conveniently located near the main city centers, making it easy to walk to local restaurants, pubs, shops, and attractions during our free time. This gave us the opportunity to enjoy the local atmosphere and explore each destination beyond the scheduled tour activities.
Peter was extremely informative about Ireland's history, culture, and traditions. His stories and commentary helped bring each destination to life and gave us a much deeper appreciation of the country. He was always friendly, professional, and willing to answer questions along the way.
What impressed me most was my initial contact with Peter. After I submitted an inquiry through his website, he personally called me within an hour, even though it was 1:00 a.m. in Ireland. From that very first conversation, I felt completely comfortable and confident that we were in good hands. His responsiveness and personal attention set the tone for the outstanding experience that followed.
