A good product ruined.
I have been using Parasol for a long time and the previous sunscreen was excellent. The new version is terrible, awful chemical smell and a slimy oily feel. Had to eventually use other products as it wasn't giving the protection required and had to be reapplied regularly.
It stains too, a number of white items ruined with it. The stains won't wash out!!
It's a prime example of taking something good and absolutely ruining it. Never using it again.
Completely burned my skin!
Completely burned my skin!! I tried for the first (and last!) time the sun cream 30 and it was like wearing no cream at all!! Even if using tones of it, it still burned me! Never buying it again!!
Dangerous product, avoid at all costs
Not only is the new formula an extremely inferior product to the original Parasol, it seems to cause you to burn. I've used original Parasol for 30 years and never burned. Tried the new formula last year and was very disappointed, different texture, smell and everything. Stained clothes. But this 2025 updated one is shocking, I haven't burned like this since i was a teenager and forgot to use suncream. I dont know how they can use the Parasol brand it's an English company called Sundrelle, not the original company. Skin cancer in a bottle
Formula change is terrible
Like others, I’ve used the old Parasol for years and loved it but the new Parasol has a nasty chemical smell and completely dehydrated my skin and all my skin peeled badly within a couple of days of being in the sun. I’ve never experienced anything like that before. Needless to say I’ve stopped using it. Please bring back the old formula!

We and my 4 children, have being using the old Parasol for 2 decades almost …Was so delighted that it had returned.I was in Tenerife a while ago and used parasol..To say I got so badly burned is an understatement..It took 3 days to be able to go out in the sun again …It is definitely NOT the same as the old one unfortunately…PLEASE don’t ever use this product..It does not do what it says it will ..I will be taking this further ..
Parasol - definitely not the same
I've been buying and using parasol for years as have the whole family. I recently bought a new large bottle for the summer and I'm disgusted with the new product. I put it on my face and body as always before I go outside, I had to wash it off straight away as it began to string my skin immediately. My son's will no longer buy it because of this and neither will I. I can imagine how it would feel on a baby or child's delicate skin. It smells really strong with alcohol. My face was red and very sensitive for the rest of the day after using it. I will never use it again.
Parasol Sun Care has been a trusted…
Parasol Sun Care has been a trusted choice for many years, especially valued by those with sensitive skin. While some users appreciate its reliable protection, particularly in intense conditions like Turkey's summer heat, others find the new formula a bit sticky. It seems to work best if instructions are followed closely, such as reapplying after swimming. Experiences vary, with some loving the convenience and effectiveness, though a few have encountered issues with application and texture. Overall, it remains a popular option for sun care, despite mixed feedback on the latest formula changes.
Make to the original formula
Having used the original Parasol lotion successfully for many years, I was glad to see a replacement and while it doesn't make my skin itchy, which can be a problem for me, the new formula is sticky to the touch which isnt very pleasant
I loved Parasol it worked really well…Disappointed with new formula Parasol
I loved Parasol it worked really well as a protection from sunburn but I am very disappointed with the new formula Parasol it’s a yellow colour and stains clothes Why was the formula changed 🙁

I bought parasol and it gave me 2nd degree burns.
I went to the beach in France and applied the sunscreen there. I got out of the water and reapplied. After an hour my friend noticed I was starting to go slightly red and after 2 hours at the beach I had to retreat to the shade for fear of getting severe burns.
It was too late however, and my knees started to swell that night. Blisters started to form all over the affected areas in the following days. Its 3 days later and the pharmacist told me I have 2nd degree burns and that it will likely scar.
I have never had issues like this until I used ParaSol, I wouldn't wish this suncream on my worst enemy.
Unfortunately
Unfortunately, having loved the original Parasol and used it for many years, I hate the new formula. It is hard to dispense correct amount, it remains horribly sticky for hours, and has a yellow colour. Also the bottle does not last long.
Horrible
Horrible! I loved the old formula, used it for years and it never failed. Purchased the new formula and not only was I disappointed in the sticky smelly substance but I had an allergic reaction to it which resulted in a rash and swollen eyes. Do not buy this product.
Shame it has been changed
Agree with last review by Alan, this is a completely different product unfortunately. Suspected it may be when I saw this is now repackaged and sold at a lower price point. This has the smell, texture and coverage now of hand sanitiser and it pills when rubbing in. Have used Parasol for over 20 years and it was a holiday essential and worth the 38.99 it used to cost. This is a much inferior sunscreen now and such a shame it has been changed
Completely different product
I completely agree with the last review from Lotte.
I also have used the original Carlow manufactured product for over 20 years. With its silicon base and natural ingredients it was a special high quality stand-out product with a luxurious non-sticky feeling on the skin. This new product from Sundrelle is not the same. It has an uncomfortable sticky gel like feel to it. What a shame that the original tried and tested Parasol has not been kept in the market !!

This was always my absolute go to…
This was always my absolute go to sunscreen for me and my family for past 20+ years
But since the company closed due to retirement and Sundrelle took it over changing to a the formula and production from Ireland to uk it is awful. The original silicon formula was unique and amazing and its extremely long lasting power unmatched. It is now just a very similar product to p20 which I used before I discovered the original parasol and really dislike. The formula is now a gel like form smells like alcohol and stains your clothes just like p20. Protection is nothing like the original my hubby coming home burnt daily and feeling it. Dreading the real summer sun for us all. So disappointed as it was such a wonderful product. Emailed the new company but nothing. Anyone have any good alternatives to recommend? What a shame.
New product 2024, not the same
Unfortunately bought Parasol May 2024 and was delighted it was back in the market again. I have used it successfully for years and it was well worth the money. The product now has very different consistency, strong smell, stripped my nail varnish off ...nothing like the original before it went off the market. I understand ingredients may have changed. I will never buy this again. 😞
The best sun cream bar none
This sun cream is the best our family has ever used and we tried a lot until we found this. So easy to put on and it lasts and lasts. Thank you to the team who invented it and I’m so sad it’s being discontinued.
Surely someone would take on such an effective and popular product?
Great product so sad it is no longer.
I have used this product since 2007. Love how easy it is to apply and how effective it is. So sad it is no longer being manufactured. Any recommendations for what to use instead?
