Excellent image viewer
I've used IrfanView since last century. There are and have been many fine image software tools I've tried, but IrfanView keeps being one of the top-3 I install on every new PC.
While the interface is old-school, the functionality is definitely top of the tree. There are a lot of useful plug-ins which can be auto-installed with IrfanView, I recommend you do so as there is very little system overhead cost.
These days my main use of IrfanView is bulk work, mainly producing batches of images to specific requirements of dimensions, dpi and image type. There is a lot of image editing functionality included also, good stuff if you don't need layers.
Summary—one of the finest pieces of independent free software around.
