I feel blessed that I have been able to understand this whole process of going through getting a DUII. It is very daunting, like putting together a jigsaw puzzle. Lots of pieces.
Erica was very thorough in explaining the IID and what and where.

Craig explained everything to me & answered all the questions that were asked of him. Craig even gave me his extension for if I needed to call back with any questions or concerns. I did need to call him back with a question & he promptly replied with an answer. Thank you Craig for your assistance.

Would I recommend Intoxalock? Here is my experience with them:
So experience with Intoxalock has been over four months now. I received a suspension notice from the CA DMV end of September dated the 10th sent out eight days after. Stopped driving and started figuring out what I needed to get my license back. When contacting the CA DMV Mandatory Actions Unit (MAU) they said all I needed was the DL920 form and enrollment in a CA DUI program for 18 weeks and then I could pay to have my license reinstated. Although I had finished everything for the AZ DUI requirements and paid for reinstatement through the AZ MVD. They had somehow duplicated my name in the system. When they merged the accounts it asked for a second reinstatement fee which I paid. Just after this time I was going back and forth with the CA DMV MAU and Intoxalock MAU kept saying the same thing, DUI course enrollment and DL920 form. Intoxalock kept guaranteeing me that they would send the form. Then I would call them when they hadn’t received it and they would say call the MAU. Three weeks later the MAU happened to have someone that actually checked to see why they kept telling Intoxalock why I was not eligible for in install of a device that was already in my vehicle from the AZ court requirement. Why Intoxalock was handling this like it was a new install I could not tell you. If Intoxalock would have issued the DL920 form and I took it to the DMV they would have told me that the AZ MVD never submitted that I had paid the reinstatement to the national database which is why the MAU kept telling Intoxalock I was not eligible for the install, again not an install just paperwork for an existing system. If I would have been given the form and submitted it the DMV would have told me to handle the reinstatement fee from Arizona before they could reinstate my California license. Anyways after that was cleared, three weeks into not driving and trying to get reinstated, they put to send out the paperwork on that Friday. Paperwork didn’t send out until Wednesday of week four because they again had to ask the MAU if it was cleared. Monday, week three, I asked the AZ MVD to file with the national database that the reinstatement was filled. Called Intoxalock multiple times, through out this whole four week ordeal, multiple times a day. Intoxalock said they would send the Form. Form arrive mid day Thursday as they finally shipped it out Wednesday after it had been cleared. The form was filled out incorrectly. They filled the drivers license # with the court case from AZ even though it was a California form and clearly stated Drivers license number. They didn’t put my middle name. Also they did not spell my address right as they spelled drive as dive. Naturally the DMV field office said that they would not accept the form because it was missing information and incorrect information was on the form. Called Intoxalock and requested for a corrected for to be sent overnight and they said it was too late and promised that it would be there by Saturday latest. Called the Installer and they could see Intoxalock had set up for another delivery just not tracking information. Friday comes around and I call around noon asking the installers if they can see a tracking number yet. They said the form to be sent was no longer visible on their portal. Called Intoxalock back as I did the day before and they were asking for the information on the form again and not to worry that the form would be there Saturday. Not holding my breath as they had said the form would ship several times in the past and never did because they were acting like the DMV on a system that was already in my vehicle that I was paying for their system that I could not use. They issued two weeks worth of credit for the inconvenience and issued a credit for the shipment of the form that was filled out incorrectly. During this time I had called other interlock companies to get quotes and ask if they could get me the form that Intoxalock was refusing to send out. All the other companies said they would, however it would have been an actual installed and not sure if they would have sent out the form or had to ask the MAU also. Now I need to ask the installer if they see a tracking number for the paperwork or if it is not going to be sent out until Monday going into week five of this. And probably not arriving until Tuesday now. Before all this a couple weeks after install the device said blower failure in warm weather. I could do anything about it because my vehicle needed to cool off since it was about 98° outside. Called my wife to pick my son and I up while the device cooled down with the weather. Other times I pick up the device from the center console and it would say stop blowing or retest even though I hadn’t blown into it yet. Reported to Intoxalock and they said they didn’t see anything on their end.

I was told things about using the system that it would only ask me once when I start the car and not intermittently while I was driving that was not the truth. So far the sales person had told me many different things when I called back the number I wasn’t asked to put in her extension. There is no way I can contact the sales person who I dealt with anymore.

DO NOT choose Intoxalock as your IID provider. Based on my experience, their customer service is terrible, and getting help beyond the call center has been a constant struggle.
**I pay about $200 a month with service fees, far more than the price sales quoted me.** That does not include lockout fees. I’ve blown into the device before the countdown ended and still received a lockout and a charge. I believe the equipment is faulty, yet I’m told I have to pay to have it inspected.
**They have refused to let me remove my debit card from my account or turn off autopay, even after I explicitly requested both. I do not want them automatically charging my card, and they will not let me stop it.** This is a serious concern, especially when I’m disputing charges and cannot get someone to resolve them. I intend to report this to the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office.
A few representatives have been helpful, but many have been rude and refused to connect me with second-tier support for problems the call center cannot resolve. I’ve also had representatives claim to be supervisors or second-tier support when I had reason to believe they were not. I’ve been hung up on more times than I can count.
I requested my device logs over a week ago and still haven’t received them. **I need those records for a hearing.** When I asked for expedited delivery because they had not fulfilled my original request, I was told to wait another two business days, which would put me past my hearing date. I explained the urgency, asked for second-tier support, and was hung up on again.
This has cost me money, time, and unnecessary stress. I should not have to fight this hard to get my own records, dispute charges, stop automatic payments, or speak with someone who can actually help. **I would not recommend Intoxalock.** When I asked for a reference number I was told that they do not provide reference numbers for their calls.
