Many years ago my social accounts were accessed and abusive messages were sent to a celebrity. News outlets picked this up and publish articles on the messages. For years it’s has effected my mental health, employment, reputation and generally caused me misery. Due to the nature of the case internet erasures were able to quickly and easily achieve full removal. They are exceptionally easy to deal with, incredibly helpful and very supportive through the entire process. From instruction to full removal has been roughly 4 weeks. This company has changed my life.

Was somewhat sceptical in the very beginning as I wasn’t sure this was even possible to remove some damning and dangerous info about me which was hurting my reputation in work and life.
Before I started had a telephone consultation with the senior caseworker. Sounded almost too confident which made me worried but he kept saying “trust me, this won’t be a problem for us”.

And he certainly wasn’t wrong… 3.5 weeks later and not only is every search result disappeared from existence, but in addition the original website which wrote the information have removed every word of my name from their webpage. Internet erasure didn’t want to settle for just having search engines remove any result of me, they wanted to go all in and fight the company who even wrote it, to force them to back down and delete it. And this they did!!

Along the whole way I was updated regularly every few days with: - what’s happened, - what’s going on next, - what each part means, - how they felt about the responses we received, - what the plan is if we succeed/don’t succeed this section.

They vowed to not give up until they get every result we are after and they did indeed achieve this. I can now continue without this burden of my past being over me constantly.

A fantastic company who I can't thank enough. For an incredibly reasonable fee, they successfully managed to remove articles relating to a conviction that was not yet legally spent. This was an amazing result given the difficulties in removing unspent convictions from the internet. My case worker 'Joy' was so helpful, providing updates on the case whenever I asked. I honestly couldn't believe the news when she emailed to say they had successfully removed all content from Google. This company is double underline: amazing. I cannot recommend them enough! They sorted my problem within a few days and considering my problem was kind of comical from one angle, no one made me feel weird about it or embarrassed. Responsiveness was completely instantaneous -- they communicate through Whatsapp if desired -- and I even had a lovely, pleasant chat with the person I liaised with. When I was younger I had articles posted online about me without my consent. This hindered me in some cases professionally when people would search me online. I contacted erasure and they got everything removed for me as part of a pro bono case. I can't thank the team enough for all of their effort and support.

Over a decade ago whilst deep in the grip of a severe addiction, I made some terrible decisions which ultimately got me (understandably) sent to prison. The time inside was unremarkable, but the real damage was done online and I feared this would haunt me forever. One quick search of my name and my past demons were there for all to see, stored in specially created databases. I'd long since served my time but everything online felt like a seperate whole life sentence I was stuck with. I wasn't that person any more but as far as the internet was concerned, there were to be no second chances.

THEY SUCCEEDED WHERE OTHERS COULDNT

 

I tried for several years to remove a long, false and terrible article about me and my business dealings.

It had been placed on a professional bulletin type website, supposedly to warn others, but had actually been written by someone who lost a court case against me and who was harassing me.

 

They included photos of myself and colleagues, they named me and revealed very personal information in this huge article. The writer went to great lengths to add credibility, at the same time destroying my life personally and professionally.

 

After solicitors failed to remove it, and in desperation, I contacted Internet Erasure.

I had a consultation, which gave me some hope and I read a page or two of their reviews, but I wasn’t convinced that I could get this off Google.

The reviews, said things like, “EVERYTHING WAS REMOVED”, “they never give up”, “they are highly skilled”, “they live up to the promise”, but that was alright for the writers of the reviews, I still didn’t know whether it could work for me; it had after all been top of Google for nearly 3 years by this point.

I didn’t know, but I hoped and trusted them with my fee.

Frustratingly, progress was slow.

Bing and the smaller search engines said yes fairly quickly, but Google point blank refused to remove.

The site itself was no longer being updated so despite Internet Erasures efforts to trace the owners, the webhosts, even the software platform, we couldn’t get it down.

Internet Erasure argued back and forth with Google and then hit them with a far stronger “GDPR Section 10 Data Protection Notice” whilst simultaneously appealing to The Information Commissioner (with loads of evidence, they left nothing to chance).

The whole process was frustrating, time-wise, but I had been told that removal can take 4 months, so I half expected it; anyway what choice did I have? the bxxdy thing had been up there so long and done so much damage already!

 

There was another setback, The Information Commissioner rejected the appeal. but Joy, my caseworker at Internet Erasure, didn’t accept that, she created a long list of legal points and arguments and THE INFORMATION COMMISSIONER OVERTURNED THEIR OWN DECISION and ruled in my favour.

I was delighted to have heard the news from Joy that we won the ICO appeal and Google responded swiftly a few days later permanently removing the links from their search engine results.

My name is clear, my personal reputation can now be rebuilt and the business associated with my name can start to grow again. Its such a relief.

It was hard to keep the faith sometimes during this process, but I have to say, when NO ONE else could get this removed, this team at Internet Erasure actually did.

I would put 5 stars, because they are a 5 star company, without question everything is slick and professional and customer care is a priority / but I am putting 4 stars, simply because during my consultation I was predicted four months and the process actually took five and a half months from start to finish. I know this timescale is not their fault and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome, but I just want to be honest in my review and 4 stars is how I feel due to the timescale.

Would I recommend them, YES OF COURSE, but be patient, trust the process. When they say they never give up and they keep working until.. that’s exactly what they did, through so much, they never stopped.

Google initially refused to uphold my Right to be Forgotten, so the team escalated it to the Information Commissioner, who agreed to enforce your Rights to Erasure, which ultimately secured the removal of all the damaging content.
I've made mistakes and paid my price and wanted to rebuild my life, which the team made possible.
