Girl at the counter tried to make a new Goldcar contract=> It s no problem to get ur internet booking refund (via Doyouspain).
Except that there is no refund, unless 48 hours cancelation before reservation and she perfectly knew it.

Thieves and charlatans

Thieves and charlatans. I turned up at Faro airport where I had pre-paid £300 for a car for a week. They said that because I was delayed, I would have to rebook and they openly admitted that they were stealing my previous payment. I have contacted my bank to report this fraud and theft and attempt to retrieve my money.

Alarm / Fraud - It is a scam company, gentlemen tourists be very careful, at the end of the contract as you pay 1200 euros as a deposit, they begin to carry out scams to steal money from you. I rented the vehicle through an intermediary agency for a week the total amount with all expenses and supplement and the airport taxes were 135 euros but in the end it came out 268 euros !! Be careful ... They charged 36.27 euros Premium office charge, 14.96 Smart return (I have no idea what it is) and they also said that they do not have the car that I have reserved for them and they forced me to rent a car higher than 18 euros. but when it was time to get in the car they offered me a car hit on the right side totally destroyed. Also when it comes to returning the car, as long as you don't have insurance with them, they humiliate you by checking the car with a magnifying glass and a flashlight point to point to see they can blame you for something to steal money. Be very careful Goldcar and Interrent are the same scam companies. Rent a car from companies with category and be honest with the client if you are not going to have many surprises and annoyances. Between all of us we unite and we do not rent a vehicle from these 2 companies GOLDCAR and interrent so that they learn the lesson. Join is for the good of all.

This is the worst car hire company I have ever dealt with!
I pre booked my rental car to collect at Maderia Funchal airport.
I purchased my own cdw insurance in the UK before I flew.
When I arrived at the airport I was told there was no Interent desk and I had to collect the car from Goldcar.
I presented my documents and the girls at the desk told me that I would have to pay 1600 euros. I said to them that’s ok but of course it will be refundable at the end of the rental. The 3 girls at the desk told me only one in twenty customers get the money refunded and I should pay 190 euros for their “Super Relax Cover” instead.
I told them I had purchased my own excess cover and they told me in that case I would have to pay the 1600 euros.
I thought they were joking and said again that “of course this is refundable at the end of the rental”, and was told no, only one in twenty customers get this money back!
I told them that this was unacceptable and refused to pay it an I left and rented a car from another company.

Shocking

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with in my life. They made us wait for 3 hours on picking car up, even though we could see the car on the forecourt. When returning the car we were told we had to pay an extra 36 euros to clean up a few grains of beach sand. I said I was willing to take to garage and do myself, but luckily for them they had 'closed the contract'. and the best bit... they charged us 60 euros instead of 36! Scam artists - do not use

Never rent a car with INTERENT

Never rent a car with INTERENT, bought by GOLDCAR. They refused to rent me a car because I had my Swiss driving license instead of the International one. I've been renting cars for more than 30 years and this is the first that this happens to me.

Beware! This is a front for Goldcar, the worst rental car company I've experienced.

Beware! This is a front for Goldcar and is the worst rental company I've ever dealt with. I travel about half the time and regularly hit 150 car rental days a year.

This company specializes in hitting you with high additional fees when you arrive to get your car, and if you try and refuse to pay they will not give you the car. When I rented from Interent I was horrified to see that it was actually Goldcar, and I'd had a horrible experience with Goldcar in the past.

On this recent rental they made me pay an additional 167 euros over and above what I paid (about 80 euros) when I booked the car. When I complained the lady actually said "Well, you booked a cheaper price so now you have to pay more". Amazing!

Stay away from this company

Stay away from this company! Worst experience ever with car rental abroad. Contracts are only in spanish and they charge e.g. for double insurance without asking or making you aware, even if you have a third party insurance with no excess from before. This is fraud. Will never use them again, not my travel friends either.

Avoid at all costs! Interent is operated by Goldcar and basically set out to scam as many people as possible.

I paid for all the insurances in advance and when landing in Reus to collect the car they refused to take my Debit Card to cover the deposit. Gave some BS story about currency price fluctuation and because it was a refundable deposit, they wouldn't be able to refund it on debit card.

Our hire agreement clearly states that deposit can be paid on debit card.

They insisted that I paid the deposit via Credit Card, which we don't have one.

The only way for us have the car was suddenly to pay £380 extra plus £150 for fuel...

Guess what? they would happily accept debit card for that!

Just a total scam, preying on tired travellers with young kids.

Disgusting way to treat customers.

THIS IS GOLDSTAR IN DISGUISE, even the man had a Goldstar uniform

This company is Goldstar, a company I have studiously avoided for a number of years after being ripped off once and scammed another time.
Booked through Ryanair and had no idea I was booking a Goldcar hire car and I was so angry when I got to Fuerteventura and discovered the truth that it put a cloud over our month’s holiday SHAME ON RYANAIR FOR EXPOSING ME TO THESE THIEVES, SCAMMERS and LIARS.
Waited over 70 minutes to be served and witnessed some very angry customers and when it was my turn had to convince them that I had insurance, man at desk was very rude but I persevered, I was happy to have my card blocked for 800 euros but was (again) angry when looking at my card a couple of days later to see they actually took £1,055 and was charged a currency fee of £30, this is not blocking.
Was told I would get a full refund but with so many dents and scratches on the car at collection and with nobody to talk to I am expecting a fight.

I recommend on Girona Airport !!!

Interent it is a part of Goldcar ...so I was really scared after reading reviews online. I rented through Argus Car Hire second time and I am so happy with the service. The process was quick and smooth.No queue on Girona Airport. Easy located Rental Dest on Airport. The car I got exceeded my expectations. I ordered Fiesta but received a new Skoda Fabia.Car was clean and fresh. Staff very friendly, well trained and professional. Dropping process was easy. Just left the car at night time and drop the keys in the box. No other charges appears on my credit card. I did have my own anual Car Hire Excess Insurange and they did accept it but I have to leave deposit on my credit card which was refunded.So my experience with this company was excellent.

This is Goldcar in disguise

This is Goldcar in disguise . Do not use this company . Top tip , look on local travel forums for recommendations of local firms who will meet you at the airport with a hire car . Might be more expensive but you won’t get all the waiting and hassle that you get with this and other companies.

DO NOT USE. Hired a car in Italy didn’t accept their insurance, my credit card kept getting rejected. Rang card company they had no record of interent trying to charge my card. Went and purchased something on my card in the airport to check, transaction went through. Went back to desk and had to wait in the queue, it then became apparent that everyone who refused their insurance was having the same problems. When I questioned them about it they became really nasty, needless to say I went elsewhere.....

Disgraceful car company never use

Do not use this car company at all costs. I was charged a extortionate amount of money at Valencia Airport. Charges I was never informed about before I took the car. I have used a variety of other car rental companies over the years and it never had any problems at all. The customer service is absolutely appalling and they charge you for lots of different spurious additions that you are never made aware of, on top of that instead of holding or blocking your credit card payment they charge your credit card over £1,000 incuring a 28 to 35 pound transaction fee and also incuring another transaction fee for about £30 when they return the money. When you try and query this on the internet or over the telephone they are absolutely horrendous to deal with. Awful company that should be exposed.

Obnoxious rats!

Used this company a few times and often it's been a real hastle. There usually offering the lowest prices and that has got me to give them repeat custom. That and the fact that I can't imagine the other rental companies are any better! Still, the way they behave is unacceptable.

When we use them, we all ways get our insurance 3rd party, as everyone does. As there's is ridiculously over priced. 3rd party is around £42 for anual insurance. They want you to pay over £100 for a week! When you explain that you are covered elsewhere, they will certainly try to scare you into buying there cover. Basically, expect nice customer service until you explain you don't want to buy there insurance, at that point, expect them to act like you just took a 💩 on there desk!

I've had countless problems with them, right now I am sat on an airport floor, waiting to be seen because we arrived earlier than expected. They won't see us until 2, even though the car is almost certainly sat in the lot.

avoid at all costs! i have used Goldcar before else where without a problem so perhaps it is just this branch that are scamming. because they have a fee blocked on your card at point of collection they can charge you for spurious fees after the rental before they unblock the fee. in my case having queried through Ryanair car hire(whose website i booked through) i am told that i have been charged £200 for damage to the car which is surprising because the £200 is made up of two seperate charges, £67 charged to my card on the day of collection and £132 charged 2 days after return. Ryanair refuse to assist me other than providing a web claim form for InterRent which is unusable as it wont allow me to fill in the collection point as Gran Canaria airport or Las Palmas airport and says my email address is invalid! there doesnt appear to be any email addresses i can find to contact them with images proving the damage wasnt done by me.
will avoid this company in future
