Innovative Cage Solutions

We hired Jason Picciano of Innovative Cage Solutions, a division of NEWCO Screens LLC, and apparently Gary Turner of Pegasus General Contractors Inc., to construct a pool cage at our home. Based on our experience, the individuals and companies involved were not adequately qualified to perform this work, and I strongly caution anyone considering a new pool cage to proceed carefully.

Over the past 16 months, we have dealt with significant construction defects, major workmanship issues, and repeated delays. For context, work was performed on the cage for approximately eight months before the required permit was even submitted, which substantially contributed to the prolonged timeline and overall project complications. Despite numerous attempts to allow both companies the opportunity to correct these issues, the defects remain unresolved.

Some of the major concerns I personally observed include:
• A pool cage that is severely out of level — approximately 6¼" at the house and 5¾" at the back wall — far outside the commonly accepted 1–1½" industry tolerance. Multiple independent, third-party companies assessed the cage and confirmed it is significantly out of level and well beyond standard tolerances.
• Improper workmanship and assembly methods that do not appear to meet typical industry expectations. Documentation shows the cage was out of level prior to the roof installation, yet work proceeded without the issue being corrected.
• Inconsistent installation heights across multiple mansards.
• Rub marks, scratches, spray-paint blemishes, and other cosmetic defects on several beams.
• Errant holes in beams, some of which were filled or concealed with screws or caulk.
• Loose screen panels, untrimmed edges, and generally poor screening work.
• Caulk used to fill gaps where aluminum components were improperly measured or cut short.
• Damage to the surrounding deck in several areas.
• Bottom trim connections installed with inconsistent or substandard screw placement, raising concerns about workmanship quality.

Beyond these defects, our experience also included:
1. Major timeline delays (over 16 months), far beyond what was originally represented, including eight months of work completed prior to permit submission.
2. Substandard workmanship that is clearly visible and raises concerns about long-term durability.
3. Significant discrepancies between the skills and expertise that were represented and what was delivered.
4. Repeated failures to adequately address issues, even after multiple notices and opportunities.
5. Ongoing concern for future structural problems and increased repair costs.
6. Significant stress and frustration caused by the lack of resolution.

We provided multiple opportunities for these issues to be corrected, but they were not properly addressed. Communication was inconsistent, and accountability was lacking throughout the process. After four months of attempting to reach a fair and reasonable resolution, we have been forced to pursue legal remedies due to the inability to obtain an adequate resolution directly from the companies involved.

In our opinion, Innovative Cage Solutions / NEWCO Screens LLC did not demonstrate the level of professionalism, workmanship, or customer service that homeowners should reasonably expect when making a significant investment. We strongly encourage anyone considering this company to conduct thorough research and carefully review all available feedback. Based on our experience, the handling of documented issues demonstrated a lack of integrity, along with poor workmanship, quality control, and customer service. Additionally, the advertised “100% satisfaction guarantee” was not upheld based on how our documented concerns were handled.

To clearly illustrate our experience, I have included photos that document this company's consistent lack of professionalism, substandard workmanship, and inadequate commitment to their customer.
