The Cruise Ship From Hell !!

As somebody on here pointed out one star doesn't do this total insult and travesty of a trip justice !! I have never experienced such a horrible "Holiday/tour" in my whole life ! To start off with I had booked my ticket online six weeks beforehand and was under the impression that we would be on a cruise sailing in the South of France , perhaps with a stop off at Nice ? The reality was far,far different and worse. Much worse ! The "All inclusive" food and drinks package was a total lie from start to finish. On the first day -Thursday at the Theatre bar I was suddenly told that my white cruise card wouldn't be accepted because I needed to "Upgrade" to a drinks package. Hang on - wasn't the whole trip meant to include free drinks and food ?? Total lie ! I also had to suffer the indignity of having my Elvis Vegas style cape, getting stolen from the cruise ship's night club that evening. I also lost my white cruise card and at no point was I allowed to just pay normally with cash or a debit card. How absurd was this ??!! I was by now getting the impression that this was a "Mission Impossible" type trip in which everything conceivably possible was being done to make life unbearable ! It got worse. Later on I suddenly realized that I had forgotten my phone charger travel adaptor. When I asked at reception about this, unbelievably they said that they did not have any kind of English type charger and that no shop on the ship was open because it was docked at the port ! The nearest shop was miles away. Luckily an Italian passenger with an adaptor was on board and offered to lend me his charger which I duly did. Added to this I didn't even have my match ticket for the Wales quarter final ! I asked the Infinity Travel booth several times for this and eventually a ticket was printed. However surely I should have received this ticket along with the England one weeks beforehand ?? We had to wait over an hour and a half for the coach transfer. Upon leaving the coach we were nicely dumped a good half an hour from Marseilles stadium. Some English fans informed me that the Metro had been closed down temporarily. Cue a subsequent 90 minute wait for any form of taxi ! All Ubers or Freecabs blatantally never showed up or just cancelled themselves. Finally I managed to get a cab to the stadium after a very long wait !! On the Sunday the same problems arose again, namely me having to ask for match tickets yet again but at least this time you could catch the Metro to the stadium. I was and am still suffering from a severe cellulitis infection in my legs. Sadly I ended up collapsing with pain and exhaustion on the cruise ship on the Sunday night and ended up in the boat's hospital. I will say this to the exceedingly rude security man who yelled at me for, "Criminally" not eating my food at the ship's table on Sunday night. You are the most heartless, stern, rude ,bullying, thick, ugly piece of crap on the face of this Earth !!! I tried telling the sod that I was in great pain with a leg infection to which he replied,"I don't care !!" To me that gross insult epitomises this "Deal" . A total lie and an insult from start to finish !! At no point did I ever feel relaxed and as if I was on holiday. To add gross insult to injury I have just had to fork out a 1000 pound bill on top of the two grand that I paid outright for the ticket. By all rights I should be refunded every penny of this 1000 pound bill. I am willing to go to court to fully pursue this reimbursement !!!

Hi Oliver, thank you for the review and I am sorry to hear you had a bad experience. Reading your review, a number of these issues are not actually to do with Infinity Sports Travel. For example:

- The Quarter Final package never included a cruise and it was clear on the website itinerary that we would be staying in Marseille.
- NCL are in charge of all security onboard the ship.
- All of NCL's fleet operate without cash or card - this is a standard operational procedure.
- The metro being closed temporarily due to high numbers of people is a city decision.

There are other issues in your review which are to do with us, and we are happy to discuss further. Please could you email guestservicesrwc23@infinitysportstravel.com.

A great experience!

A really memorable experience! The facilities on board the ship were great. Our children loved meeting some of the rugby legends. Shame the kids club was not fully open. However there was plenty to do.
Our trip to watch England v Fiji was amazing. The seats were great and it was easy enough to travel to the stadium and back. There were long queues at the airport which was annoying and that coupled with the air strikes made for a long wait. However we made it onto our flight so it was ok.
A special thanks to Bobby and Vaishali for being so accommodating and helpful.

Lovely time on board the Epic

I had a really good time on board the EPIC for the Rugby World cup.
I really enjoyed the entertainment , specially the DJ nights. The food and drink was great too! The only issue was the long queues at the guest services desk.
Overall I had a great experience with Infinity Sports.

IST worked hard to arrange the cruise…

IST worked hard to arrange the cruise experience.
Their Admin staff were readily available for support during shortcomings.
IST needs to focus on minor details
Like. On tickets provide full information about Terminal number.
We were waiting to complete NCL guest form which required 8 digit booking reference, this was not available until last day and the deadline to complete were not sufficient.
The transport arrangement from Airport to Cruise ship and from Cruise ship to Airport needed better communication.
We were very please with the Norwegian epic experience. All staff were courteous & polite Food arrangement was excellent especially Asian Vegetarian no eggs and fish etc labelled properly.
Entertainment was good with lots of sports activity. Especially provided accommodation to celebrate Navratri Garba on ship.
Improvement suggestion is to provide Lift Numbers so everyone can locate the nearest lift to their cabin. Majority of people were struggling for couple of days.
Exertion arrangement was very good to carter for everyone.
I would recommend IST to my friends

Hi Rameshchandra - thank you for your fair review. We know there were small teething problems that we have worked hard to resolve. Some of the above are things we had no control over - lift numbers, for example - but transfers are definitely an area we worked hard to improve. We hope to see you again in the future.

Absolute bargain of a trip

This was our first experience of a cruise and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The NCL Epic was huge and we had a balcony room upgrade courtesy of Infinity Sports Travel. Whilst we did not get our NCL registration number until a few days prior to the cruise, Bobby from Infinity reassured us that everything was booked. Our early morning flight to Marseille had to return to Heathrow from over Paris due to some cabin pressure problems but by the time we finally landed in Marseille, the coach was waiting to take us to the ship. The check-in process took a while but I understand this is normal in cruises when hundreds of guests need to be checked-in in a short period. The food on board was excellent with an extremely large selection of vegetarian/vegan options which Infinity had specifically requested Epic to provide. The entertainment was great and we especially enjoyed the Beatles night. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. On our last night, we had tickets for the rugby World Cup match between South Africa and Tonga at Marseilles stadium and it was an amazing experience. Because of the sheer volume of traffic near the stadium, we were dropped off at a metro station where there were plenty of volunteer helpers guiding everyone so had no problem getting to the stadium. The return tickets for 4 cost less than 10 Euros (less than £2.50 p.p.). Once the match ended, the coach was waiting where it had dropped us. Our return flight was in the evening but we had to check out from Epic in the morning for them to prepare the cabins for their next guests. We could have chosen to explore the surrounding area ourselves before our flight but chose to wait at the airport. The amazing time we had on board far outweighed the few minor niggles we encountered. So thank you Infinity for giving us an absolute bargain of a trip.

Thank you.

Although our flight to Marseille was delayed having returned back to Heathrow and rescheduled by BA we managed to get to Marseille and were efficiently transferred to the Epic Cruise liner. Understandably there was a queue at check in but it was worth the wait. Cannot fault the catering for all tastes and Al La Carte dinner package was excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed watching the Rugby and Ryder Cup on the big screens. All in all a relaxing cruise. Good bars and entertainment on board.

Hi there, great to hear you had a great time and enjoyed all the ship had to offer!

Disappointing

It was with eager anticipation that I was on my way to standstead Airport ahead of the RWC quater finals in Marsille. We were booked to stay on the epic cruise ship. Got to the airport to find I wasn't booked on the flight despite us having confirmation that I was. The guys at the airport eventually got me on but that ment I was not sitting with the people I travelled with. I was assured that once on board they would get us seats together but that never happened. Yet IST all seemed to get on and be sat next to their family and friends.
Then the flight was delayed and stuck at the back of the plane with the queue for the toilet leaning on my seat throughout ( I know IST can't control this but it's all part of the tale).

Next we arrive in marsaile where 1 person tells us the coaches are over there turn left. Not quite as simple as that, a tour of the rental cars later and some help from another tour company we found the coach. Then we made our way to the Norwegian Cruise Lines Epic. Where we were checked in. Again no signs of anyone from IST. Then made our way on board.
We went to IST guests services to see about upgrading our match tickets which we have been asking since booking the tour package way back in June. They took our number and said they'd call us. Still waiting for that call!

The most disappointing thing is seeing IST and their hoard of family and friends getting busses and taxis and hospitality tickets to games. No waiting for an hour for a bus to the metro station for them! Then on the Sunday there were no metro tickets available despite being what we had booked and paid for, so we made our own way, paying for a taxi but at least we got to see the old port and practice our French!

On Sunday night we returned to our cabin to find a note that said we had to be off the boat by 9am, no prior warning for this. Then a nice wake up call at 7am as the tannoy went off informing us we had to be off by 9am and airport transfer was at 11am. The flight was at 7.15pm!!! So we get off the boat by 9am, and watched as IST staff, family and friends boarded a bus and disappeared into the morning. Then 2hrs later our buses arrived and took us to the airport for a 7hr wait!

By 5pm a queue was snaking across the airport as we all waited to board the chartered plane, the airline staff couldn't begin check in as they didn't have a passenger list, by about 5.45 so IST staff had turned up and marched straight to the front of the queue, where the anger from fed up passengers was at boiling point. Then eventually they started to try and check people in with a piece of paper they pulled from who knows where. Despite the fact we had confirmation for the 7.15 flight IST tried to put us on a later flight. Eventually they found us seats and together. To make matters worse an IST lady was walking down the queue asking passenger to find themselves on a list, this screams GDPR breach to me as that piece of paper contains names and passport numbers!

Then the airport seems to be having work done and a very helpful man from a another tour company told us where we needed to go for security.

Due to the shambolic efforts from IST the 7.15 flight became an 8.15 flight! But then we were delayed again, due to passagers not being there, but we're they even checked in at that point. Who knows. The remaining passengers having spent 40 mins on a bus arrived. By this point I just wasted to go home.

We were lucky enough to be selected to go to the meet and greet with the GBR team, and the legends dinner both were good, however no one was told that the blue dot on your cabin key meant you went into the dinner first, and there was a scrum at the door way ad people tried to get in!

There was never anyone present to help and make sure you were OK! At the airport on the way back we commented on how other tour parties staff were obvious and present in uniform so they could be seen and spotted easily by people and thankfully they were helpful enough to support us and others through the airport!

Would I book with IST travel again! No never, never again!

Hi GP, thank you for taking the time to review your experience in detail and we're sorry to hear you didn't have an enjoyable experience.

Firstly, I'd like to assure that the majority of IST staff did not travel via the charter flights on the way out to Marseille (having arrived in the city the day before), and that we also used the designated bus transfers to ensure guests went to the game. Similarly, the majority of IST staff did not use the transfer you mentioned on Monday morning. Checkout time was in an email sent to all guests in advance of the trip. We do apologise for the issues with the charter flight on the return leg.

We're glad to hear you enjoyed the events we worked on to provide to customers. NCL assured us that they were handling seating in the restaurant and any queues that entailed, but eventually we had to step in to sort this. Hopefully you still enjoyed the evening.

Once again, I apologise for your experience. If you would like to discuss this further, please email guestservicesrwc23@infinitysportstravel.com.

Very angry fans. I fully duplicate the last 10 reviews…

I fully duplicate the words in the last 10 reviews given on this site without listing them.
NO WORDS other than, Unacceptable,Total Shambles, Unprofessional, Total Letdown and the list goes on....
Our drinks upgrade contract was not given to us even though it was granted.
Due to this discrepancy it costs us twice the money!!! We were sent from pillar to post, passing the buck with no response or results!!!
It's not even worth trying for rembercement, it's promises that they can't keep.
For sure we won't be using this company again.
First and last indefinite.
Definitely NOT recommended!!

1 star is too many

1 star is too many . Any reviews on here saying the trip was organised really well are false or made up ,Saturday waited over an hour for a bus and nearly missed the game.
Monday getting off the ship was a shambles, told on Sunday by infinity staff we could get off at 1100 only to be told at 0700 am Monday over the speaker we must be off by 0900 ,transfer was at 1100 to the airport for a 1915
flight! Then got to the airport only to find infinity mucked up the manifest and people were getting booked to the wrong flight planes over 2 hrs checking in and the flight was over 2 hrs late , at no point did any staff from infinity let people in the queue know what was going on!
I recommend you never book with this company

Amazing weekend

This was a genuinely unique experince - staying on a cruise ship, with transfers and tickets to both of the quarter finals. Having rugby players on board who were accessible was an added bonus. My favourite was the gala dinner. Both our children had a fabulous weekend awat at the Rugby, with great seats and very convenient transfers. I would definitely recommend infinity sports to anyone looking for a fun packed sports event.

The Infinity Dream

I must say, it was a remarkable experience with the team at Infinity Sports Travel.

My journey first started at the terminal check in area, I was spoken to by a chap called Krish who was able to guide me through the process and usher me along to the check in desks in which the process was smooth, Krish was great.

Onboard I had the cabin in which I had requested and beforehand I had received the tickets which I ordered.

I had a situation with the Drinks package but that was resolved swiftly, again by Krish who was at the desk later that evening... he seemed to be everywhere and thank god for that! (Super Krish!!)

It was a great quarter final weekend, the events on board were fantastic Andy Nichol and other guest were on fire! so big congratulations for that.

The NCL facilities while nothing was functioning apart from the bars and restaurants along with events overall it was still a great experience.

thank you to everyone involved!

Brilliant trip with infinity sports travel. The rugby events they put on were fantastic, Andy Nicol was brilliant - you don’t get this sort of thing at a hotel.

Not quite perfect but still excellent

Throughly enjoyed my Rugby experience booked with Infinity.
Everything onboard the ship was well organised and the range of activities and events whilst onboard was impressive. Coach transfers and tickets for the matches were smooth, but the metro was super busy. This is to be expected at such an event though.

The only blip was the flight home. Not sure exactly what the issue was at check-in but there were large queues and not much communication. However, in the end everyone caught one of the two flights available albeit an hour or so later than planned. Not ideal, but not the end of the world either and not really in Infinity Tours control.

I would definitely recommend Infinity Tours to my friends for any future sporting events.
