Fantastic!
From the initial contact we have had a great experience. The measuring kit was easy and kind of fun to do. Directions were easy, even for someone who usually has to measure everything multiple times. They were so patient when we had to delay our order, kept our info and never pressured. Everything came clearly labeled and fit correctly. And the results!!! We live on a really busy road and they cut out so much noise. They literally have saved our sanity! Love.
Absolute scam of a company
Absolute scam of a company. I paid a large premium for the "accoustic" grade windows which the companies website says is 1/4 inch thick. When they arrived, I knew right away it was wrong, it was not even half of the thickness promised. I have just never been taken advantage of like that in my life by a company. Upsetting, so beware
Zero noise reduction!
I purchased inserts for my bedroom to help reduce road noise. I'm utterly disappointed as I ordered the acoustic grade and there is ZERO reduction in noise. These inserts are about as useless as a piece of plastic wrap on my windows! I have read numerous other reviews that had the exact same issue and their solution was always to adjust the fit. Well...they are fit as snug as possible and I have had other people look at the windows to ensure this and there are no gaps and the seal is secure. These inserts that I waited months for are totally useless and they are 100% fit as snugly as possible. Moreover, I was told by my sales representative that they were easy to take in and out and that some clients do so everyday to open their windows. This was a huge selling point for me. But, what was not disclosed is that these windows are heavy and given how much I need to manipulate the sealing to ensure a tight fit, I can't imagine ever taking the inserts out to open these windows on a regular basis. I feel like this was also falsely represented or I never would have purchased them. Incredibly disappointed. Save your money!

First of all…thanks Indow!!!
First of all, I am an architect and I needed Indow inserts for 3 old casement windows which had warped and are now stewed closed on an enclosed mahogany framed porch. Working with Indow was very organized and really quite straightforward. Pricing was reasonable and their checking and confirming my measurements was extremely helpful!!! Indow inserts arrived on a timely schedule, beautifully packaged, and safely delivered. The inserts fit perfectly and have markedly reduced the incoming sounds (from the above ground Subway)!!! All good!!! Hope to do additional fixed windows on this enclosed porch in the future!!! Thanks Indow!!!
Cut bedroom decibel level in HALF. Impressed.
5 stars for a great product.
I live next to a busy highway and it's been incredibly disruptive to my sleep. Indow has cut the decibel level in my bedroom by HALF. Impressed.
My only gripe:
Shipping took about a month, and instead of just saying "shipping takes a month" (which I would have been completely fine with) the company auto-sends an email after purchase saying "We have worked hard to absorb the supply chain issues that have affected the entire world".
This is unprofessional and annoying and as dated as listing your pager number on a business card or fax number on your website.
Companies need to stop blaming acts of God for your poor customer service department or slow response/delivery times. Deal with things out of your control, and stop making excuses because of them. (Especially THREE YEARS later)
Great inserts, but lots of labor
Pros: The product itself is great and I'm stoked to have them done. They honestly look fantastic- like the windows look better and more buttoned up with the inserts. The service was also stellar.
Cons: every step of the process from measuring to installation is way more difficult and time consuming than expected. Measuring 10 windows took 4 hours for two people. Unboxing/installation/cleanup took one person 5 hours. That's unskilled hours, but at $400 each plus labor you start to wonder about relacement costs.
The videos make it look like you can easily pop them in and out any time, but that would be a lot of trouble and risk damage. I got this for renters and would not trust them to handle them, so I must store them for summer or have windows that don't open.
Finally, some elements felt "snuck in." E.g. laser measuring sounds very automated until you learn that checking bows requires a string, a ruler, and 4 hands, plus a separate tool for diagonal measuring. Similarly, I thought I'd pop in the inserts like the video, only to find that they all required additional hardware installated on the frames for the previously undisclosed safety chains. Great! more measuring, drilling, adjusting, readjusting, cleaning, micro adjusting, recleaning, etc
Summary: I recommend this product if you know what you are getting into. If you only need a couple of windows, go for it. If you have 10 historic double hung windows, be ready to bust your butt and hire a helper.
It's working
Indows Work!
I had used different similar products in two previous homes, with some satisfaction... I bought Indows for all 21 of my windows in 2021, after dithering for years. I live in a high-rise condominium, so the windows cannot be changed, despite some being >40 years old. I'm very happy with the way the Indows perform. Most of them (on the fixed windows) remain in place year-round and have moderated summer heat and UV gain and winter heat extremely well. The firetrucks and ambulances on the nearby main road are quieter as well! I remove the Indows from the five opening windows needed for summer ventilation (no A/C) and reinstalled them at the end of October, the onset of winter. Measuring was tricky but precise; if done carefully, it produces the required result. There is no local contractor; I did all the measuring. Ordering was complex but efficient, delivery was delayed by supply chain issues and Covid, unboxing in the street and installation was simple (helped with 'Task Rabbits', at Indow's suggestion).
They work!
They actually do work surprisingly well! Don't expect 100% noise reduction, or you will be disappointed. But there has been a significant drop in the road noise in the rooms where I bought the windows, such that it does not bother me anymore and I tune it out. The installation and measuring process were a lot harder than advertised, recommend getting a handyman to help.
Success
Pricey but they really work! I ordered these to make the front bedroom in my old home on a main road livable. They were easy to install although measuring scared me a bit! While I still hear traffic (mostly trucks and motorcycles) normal car traffic is virtually silenced. While I'm not able to sleep in here because we get so many trucks in the morning I am able to use this room as an office space now, which was my goal. This room was once the noisiest room in my house and now I enjoy coming up here to watch tv. Thank you!
Not impressed and costly
The inserts came solid and well made. But not really effective for plane and train noise. Sales person Reed was not not very responsive, especially after sale.

I recently bought an older home (built 1930) that had all original windows. I did not want to get rid of the windows, but needed to find some energy efficiency. I learned about Indows from the New York Times. The whole process was super easy and everyone was very helpful! I'm pleased with the inserts I got! Thank you!
Great value, great product, great experience.
What can I say. It works and looks better than I thought it would. It ended up costing less than I thought it would, and it was really really simple to measure and order.
This is a really good product.
Pricing comparable to custom exterior storms
Pricing is comparable to custom exterior, 3 channel vinyl/aluminum storm windows. In my area, that priced to about $700 per window.
Because my window was oversized and I only bought one, I had to pay surcharges that brought my insert up to $1000. Had I bought more than one, I would have paid closer to what I was quoted for exterior--I think my other windows would have been classified as oversized as well, but if not, they would fall under the $700 per. I will not be removing my insert for summer, but if you plan to open your window, you will need to remove and store it. Indow recommends storing them flat (like on the floor, or a large table). The shipping crate is large, wide and heavy. Since I was alone, I ended up having to unbox mine at the foot of my driveway and carry the insert into the house. It is packaged extremely well with cardboard and wood, so there should be no problem with damage. It was easy to measure and easy to install.
Stupidly Expensive - Out of Reach for the Masses
The representative was very nice, but the cost is just beyond ridiculous and outrageous. For one bedroom, meaning one window consisting of two panes, I kid you not that they literally wanted $1,000. How stupid.

Great product, does the job.
We were desperate to reduce the noise in our bedroom. These guys delivered a quality product that does the job and is affordable. They look great, in fact you wouldn’t know they were there. And now we actually get a good nights sleep. Highly recommended.
Costly But Effective
Our Indows have significantly reduced the noise levels in our bedroom. At night, background noise is essentially zero despite living next to active train tracks.
The process of measuring our windows was easy with the kit provided and installation was also very simple.
The inserts did require us to remove our blinds and get window treatments which we had hoped to avoid. Also, they were pricey, but we got what we paid for and are happy with the improvement of our sleep.
Worth it
Circa 1860s house with circa 1980/1990s windows. We ordered 14 inserts for entire home, and they made major impact on drafts and overall temperature control. Had fit issue due to one quirky window frame, and company sent replacement TWICE until it was right. Fantastic customer service, seriously.
Got the standard inserts, not the noise-dampening ones, and while not the primary goal, have certainly noticed significant difference in outside sound reduction, as well.
Not cheap, but waaaaaay cheaper than 14 new windows in an inflated market with some questionable workmanship right now, too.
