Van issues left us frustrated

Unfortunately we had issues with the van that significantly impacted the first three days of our trip. We spent hours trying to resolve the issue, which we eventually did. One employee told us we would be given some type of compensation and then we were told by someone else we would not. The mixed messages were very frustrating and unprofessional.

Would love to provide a great review BUT…

Would love to provide a great review but unfortunately my issues have yet to be resolved after a month of messaging with the company.
This company does NOT do proper checks prior to turning over the campers leaving one as the customer to deal with the issues on our time that we spent a lot of money for.
We rented the camper for 5 days and planned our trip up the coast with various booked stops along the way. We encountered several issues on day one that only got more inconvenient as the day and days went on.
The fridge smelled TERRIBLE!!! We hadn't noticed until after we drove the camper home, loaded it, and were on the road. As a mother who is still breastfeeding, it was terrible to have to put my pump parts and my infants milk bottles in there until we could get to a store to purchase cleaning supplies.
The camper itself was extremely loud inside and one window rattled due to not having a proper closing hinge. As we drove the window would slide open.
Upon arriving at our first campsite we realized that the camper did not have a screen door. So we had to keep the door open despite mosquitoes and bugs to be able to keep an eye on our kids outside of the camper while we were cooking or grabbing things. It was difficult to try to then kill the mosquitoes at night and deal with bug bites on our 2 year old and our 6mo old.
We also realized during our drive that the reverse camera did not work, which made it unsafe to reverse and one of us had to get out to direct the other which was unsafe. Also the Android Auto did not connect which meant we had to purchase a phone holder to help us navigate us on our roadtrip.
Our first night, we realized that there was no privacy curtains for the front windshield. I could see the velcro where they should attach but we searched the entire camper and did not find them. This meant that we had no privacy in our camper and felt really unsafe at night. We had to use the cushions and our towels to block as much as the windshield as we could. Thank goodness we did not need to utilize the table as a bed because then we really wouldn't have had much to use to block the big windshield.
This is when I contacted the company. The company provided sone basic reset instructions for the reverse camera and android auto that did nothing and could not indicate where the curtain covers should be (although by that time we searched every nook and cranny and knew they werent in the camper). Their solution was to have us drive the camper to an auto shop who knows where. This was completely unacceptable as it would mean we would lose access to the camper as it was our only mode of transportation and with 2 small children this was just not an option. Additionally we would be losing access for who knows how long on our vacation time and our rental time that we paid for. Not to mention that we had plans scheduled for our days including driving times which would mean we could miss our camp bookings. The other solution option they gave was for us to drive to their San Francisco Depot which was almost 2 hours away from our camp location. Again on our vacation and rental time and also using the gas we put in. Again this was just as bad as the first option. Lastly they gave the option of compensating us for the issues we were having. Due to being on a schedule with 2 young children, not having another mode of transportation and the sheer enormity of inconvenience it would cause to our family vacation, we decided that we would go with the compensation route. Well that has been a nightmare to deal with. There is no number to call it is done through messaging via WhatsApp and most of the time you are dealing with automated AI. I was told that compensation could not be done until the camper was returned. It has been a month and I've gotten nowhere with this process. They claim that the depot is still taking stalk of the camper but I genuinely believe that is a lie. There is no way the camper we rented is just sitting in their lot, I'm sure it has already been turned around to another unsuspecting customer.
Additionally, the bathroom door jammed every time which meant that if you were inside you had to throw your body weight into opening the door. And if you were trying to use the bathroom you had to heave and haul trying to twist the knob and yank it open. This meant that we often tried to use the bathroom with the door open to prevent from getting stuck inside and since there was no privacy curtains for the front windshield it was a constant problem.
Also there was no covers for the overhead vents. And the vents were all strategically in all the sleeping areas which meant that as sun as the sun rose, there was light in your face. You can imagine that with 2 small kids this made naps almost impossible which affected our trip. There was also an outlet that did not work.
I would never recommend and still await a response to my comp request.

The RV's poor condition caused the tire to explode.

On the second day of our trip, the inner tire on the rear axle went flat. It turned out the inflator hose had come loose, something we couldn't see during a visual inspection. The employee at the campervan pick-up point claimed we were the only customers that day, but he didn't check the RV's condition.

On the last day of our trip, the same tire blew out on the highway. We tried calling the rental company for help for an hour, but no one answered the phone or responded to our messages. There was an employee waiting for us at the drop-off point, but we couldn't reach them.

Overall, the campervan's condition - 4 stars (the drawer jammed, the door to the living area wouldn't open from the outside, and the toilet door kept swinging open while driving).
Technical condition was - 3 stars .
Customer service and support - 1 star.

Ultimately, after two months of waiting, we were charged another $300 deposit for abandoning the damaged RV on the side of the road. What we should have done when technical support didn't respond remains a mystery.

Awful experience and service

Awful experience and service! After breaking down we were told to connect with someone via WhatsApp only. We then took it upon ourselves to get the van to a mechanic where we disconnected the handbrake so we can continue driving. Despite this being extremely ILLEGAL and dangerous on mountainous roads. Indie campers offered no other alternative and told us to drive it back. We're still waiting for compensation a month later. Despite multiple back and forth conversations via email, call and WhatsApp! Where's our refund!
