One out of three was worth it
I treated myself to three nightdresses in the sale - two Pandoras and one in a sleeveless, thicker cotton that seems to no longer be produced. I think there was a Cabbages and Roses one in the same style.
The sleeveless one is still lovely - super flattering and beautiful and it's washed really well. The Pandoras on the other hand...I accepted they were very sheer so perfect for warm nights but not something you could wander around in without robe over. But after a few washes they started to fall apart. These were washed according to instructions and using delicate washing products as we have a very sensitive septic tank and can only put "good" products through it. Buttons came off both first, then the ruffle collar started to come away and then the fabric began to disintegrate on one side - I have pictures of this. This is the blue one, which held out longer than the pink. I had no other option than to throw out the pink as it was coming apart in numerous places. Quite shocking considering the price tag! Now the blue one is going the same way. Meanwhile the other nightie is still lovely. So a very mixed experience but I'm afraid for £100+ for a nightie I expect it to stay in excellent condition for many years...and not just one out of three.
