My attempt to log in this AM resulted in a blizzard of inoperable & conflicting online selections.
No advisory provided by email or when opening site - just let the member flail away on the keyboard.
ICCU has an almost total reliance on automated electonic communications. This would be acceptable if systems were reliable, safe, and simple. Instead customers are required to conform to systems that are inadequate, unreliable, and distracting. Sort of like the tail wagging the dog - a burden to customers vs. a benefit.
I fear and distrust ICCU to protect & manage my mortgage & savings accounts.
Unable to log in. Telephone call made and I was advised that system would be up & running this PM, like 4-5 hours. No advisory provided, like bad surprise.
ICCU IT group unable to run vendor supplied online banking or vendor unable to supply ICCU with reliable online banking system. Either way member is slammed.

supervisor no help at all and condescending

set up a car loan....I set up first payment and auto pay. they did it all wrong, never sent me any statements like I requested. then the second month I get a weird payment amount taken out. I had set up to pay extra each month to principal and they did not do it... I call and a rep I talk to is confused and tells me it was not set up right and offers no solution. I ask for a supervisor, at this point I am 30 mins on the phone....I wait.....then super gets on phone....tries to tell me again same story, and I explain that the person who took my first payment was very detailed and took my payment first and said they had to wait a couple days to process the auto pay so the sequesncing would be right....which this process did happen... and then they did not debit the March payment, and now they told me they misapplied the payment to two payments and I proved her wrong, because they put it to principle and then there was no interest charge for march....then in april I got charged more interest after paying the balance down than I did in FEB which means they screwed up and forgot to do a march statment and then tacked it onto april...the supervisor was no help at all and condecending and kept telling my she was sorry it was so confusing for me...IT IS NOT CONFUSING FOR ME! I PAID THE FIRST PAYMENT AND THEN THEY WERE TO DO THE EZ PAY EVERY MONTH GOING FORWARD AND THEY DID NOT AND THIS MONTH THEY TOOK OUT THE WRONG AMOUNT...BECAUSE THE MISAPPLIED THE FIRST PAYMENT AND STILL HAVE NOT SENT ME ANY STATEMENTS AND SHE RIED TO TELL ME THEY ONLY DO ANNUAL STATMENTS ON AUTO LOANS BULLSHIT!!!

Terrible credit union practices

Wrote a check for on an account at ICCU to be deposited in Chase bank. Because it was a check I realized it would take several business days to be processed. Here's the thing. ICCU deducted the amount within 4 days but my bank has still not received those funds 4 days after they were removed from the ICCU account.
Chase band contacted ICCU to verify the transfer but ICCU would not give my Chase bank representative that information. $100,000 that I don't get to earn interest on but ICCU is still in control of. TERRIBLE

I spoke to a representative

I spoke to a representative, having her change from removing mortgage payments from another institution to removing it from ICCU as the mortgage is held in ICCU. I set it up online myself, but the ICCU representative was to turn off the payment from Chase. She did not do it and today, I noticed that the mortgage payment had been deducted twice. I called ICCU and was told that the Chase pull had not been terminated. They also stated that even though they had pulled from Chase, they could not put the incorrect deduction (on their part) back into Chase. So, per the ICCU representative, I am left with an overdraft of my Chase account until it goes through the necessary "processes" at ICCU to get the money back to me, at which time, I will need to place the money back into Chase. In the meantime, regularly scheduled payments from Chase would not have sufficient funds. This is not acceptable.

So the problem here is ongoing....it as if English is their third language the way they communicate. The are not consistent! the website needs work! the policies are super goofy! They claim they need tax returns to approve me for a credit card. Then after I didnt supply them; they sent me a written correspondence in the mail with lies on it! Luckily I moved and found a real bank! kick this place to the curb! I cannot take the poor service and lies anymore sorry! I wish I would have checked their bad reviews before I opened accounts with them!

SHADY is not a descriptive enough term…

SHADY is not a descriptive enough term for this "financial institution." Here's what ICCU doesn't tell you up front....

You go and buy a car, the dealership will tell you about a great interest rate, you read the paperwork at the dealership, and it all seems great, right? WRONG! ICCU will make it very difficult to pay your loan off early. What isn't in the fine print, and what the Idaho Central Credit Union will not tell you up front is that they don't want you to pay your loan off early, and they will make it difficult for you to do so.

I'll elaborate further... When you go in person to the ICCU to get everything set after the dealership, they will encourage you to download and use their app for your banking needs with them. What they won't tell you is that their app WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO MAKE MORE THAN YOUR PRE-ESTABLISHED CAR/LOAN PAYMENT. If you try to pay more than that for your principal, the app will give you an error message. I've called and spoken to two different supervisors at ICCU, who spoke to their supervisors and then they informed me that the ICCU will only allow payments in excess of your monthly payment in person or over the phone. The app won't let you make more payments for the first two years. They cite that they want to make sure you aren't paying more in interest. This is a lie, and they know it, as financial institutions make their interest money up front on the loan, especially within the first two years. There's literally no other way to explain this....

SO, The Idaho Central Credit Union will make you jump through all sorts of hoops to make additional principal payments on your loan. This is literally the only financial institution that I have ever seen that takes this approach, and I'm 50 years old with an outstanding credit rating. It's a shady business practice, as they are not upfront about this clause that they hide from potential customers. Had I known this, I surely would have chosen a different financial institution who doesn't hide important information from their customers. Please see attached image for proof of what happens when I tried to pay more than my set monthly payment.

Don’t bother applying for a home loan.

Don’t bother applying for a home loan.

We went into the branch we were given a card with a loan officer to contact. We left a message no call back. Contacted another loan officer, we got a text message about what we were looking to apply for after filling out an application that took 45 minutes with all of our uploaded info all contact stopped we left several messages and sent several text messages and nothing.
Not impressed. What a waste of time!

Makes life impossible

Bank statements don't post on time; they are telling retailers that my card is being fraudulently used; I can't withdraw what I need from the atm; and generally they just get in the way of my life. I couldn't order groceries while recovering from a c-section due to their overzealous claims of fraud- I had to make an entirely new Walmart account to continue ordering. And now I might not be able to get into an apartment in my price range on time because of their delayed system statement postings, which could force me into a more expensive apartment at a cost of an additional $1,000+ a month! Nobody at ICCU was able to simply send me a statement verifying my account balance. It is unbelievable to me!

Plenty of other banks protect against fraud without ruining your life like this! INSANE. I am LIVID.

Don't try to open a bank account on Saturdays, they can be bothered to do it. They force you to do it via video chat while they have an actual person sitting there with you that is completely capable of opening the account in person, this is the laziest, rudest most unprofessional experience I have ever encountered with a bank. We are seriously considering canceling all our accts with iccu because of this.

Tired of waiting.

All the staff that help me are wonderful. That’s not the problem.
My issue is having to wait a full 10 minutes before anyone at the central dispatch even answers the phone.
There has to be a better way.
Just saying.

Absolutely Not.

Everyone raved about iccu a year ago when we moved to Idaho. All we’ve had are problems with them and lasted 6 months before happily moving to Mountain America. Doesn’t seem like we’re the only ones now as reviews tank all over the place. Iccu gave us the run around on credit cards, savings accounts, and we’re all around just rude to deal with. When we went in to sign up we had to sit on a tablet with someone who took an HOUR to even get to us. While a woman sat behind the tablet at the desk saying she wasn’t allowed to help us. I was about to walk out and we just should have. Having to go through two humans anytime you want to sign up for a credit card is ridiculous. Denied in full for a credit card with iccu after back and forth.. but approved for 8k at Mountain America? 750 credit score w perfect payments yet you want to say ‘job is too new’ as the reason? Then when told we’d be leaving they just shrugged ‘Ok’ was all they said. No attempt to make anything right, ask why, or even attempt to keep us. May I remind you that as a credit union you NEED us we don’t NEED you.

Had $5000 stolen through a stock market clone scam. They said they are a zero loss credit union. I’ve paid almost $2000 towards it and still they are sending me to collections, after making it impossible to have or get a checking account anywhere. No compassion at customer service. If you can call it that.

I was making payments on time through the portal. I over looked the payment when I was moving.

TransUnion noticed me the account was late. ICCU did not contact me.

When I called them I found out they changed my contact info internally to a different email.

All correspondence still comes to the email they were initially provided with.

So thier clerical error cost me 8 years worth of progress on my credit report. They were unwilling to help me in anyway with thier mistake.
