Horrible Customer Support. Game lacks depth or content. Avoid at all cost.
I purchased the game (standard edition) on January 30, 2026 from the retailer Driffle. I was able to log in and play. It worked at first. Now, a week later, I want to play again, but the launcher says:
"This account hasn't purchased Hytale. The account you are signed in with does not have a valid Hytale license. You can purchase Hytale at store.hytale.com to continue."
On accounts.hytale.com / Game Profiles, Game Edition says “none.”
One month ago I asked support for help, but there is no reaction. This is a very poor service.
I'm extremely disappointed in Hytale. I run a hosting company, and the method Hytale requires people to register as a hosting provider, has completely left us in the dark in terms of gaining Hytale customers.
Hytale explicitly went out of their way to ensure people they know got access to their special hosting provider authentication, yet hosting companies like mine are completely blocked from providing Hytale hosting.
By doing this, Hytale is actively promoting monopolies within the Hytale hosting market. They want a certain amount of companies to reign by offering Hytale hosting, while letting others suffer from not being allowed to enter.
They openly propose a solution on their website, which is genuinely comical, they propose that companies buy the Hytale game and use the key from that account to authenticate all servers. This is the worst method you could use to approach this situation, because one abuse report could turn off all Hytale servers hosted by you!
I've tried getting in contact with Hytale staff, to no avail, it seems they love to stay on their high horse, while leaving us in the dark!
Keep loosing world after playing for the session.
It’s not a good sign when a developer raises so many red flags right from the start. I can’t find a demo for the game anywhere - if you’re confident in your product and have nothing to hide, you let customers try it before they buy it. If there in fact IS a demo available, then it is well hidden.
And then, on the purchase page, the monetization hand is already outstretched. Sure, you can buy the cheapest version, but apparently you’re supposed to feel like you’re missing out on their "amazing" cosmetic items. I couldn’t care less about cosmetics, and the idea that they justify an extra 60 dollars is laughable. Charging over 80 dollars for an indie game (the "Cursebreaker Edition") is just bold.
On top of that, everyone insists on using that annoying Discord. What’s wrong with a proper forum?
All in all, the whole thing feels very suspicious.
Everything about this project screams that it’ll be abandoned the moment the developer has milked it dry.
Gotta love how large the map generation is, even though it's still in early access, it has so much content and lots of unique places that I get to go to. Worth every penny!
