Hygge Pergola Reviews 

The pergola itself is amazing, the customer care good but processes are rubbish and we were hit by 2 stressful delays unneccessarily.
Pergola first- it's brilliant and so worth the money. We got a wall mounted 3 x3 in front of our patio doors. It's like it has given us another room. When closed over it does reduce light a bit into the room but when louvres are open the light in our room is normal. The mechanics work well with open and closing easy.
We've used it in sunny and rainy weather and it been brilliant.
However, the instructions are all made for the freestanding version, they could really do with making a video on wall mounted pergola build or better instructions at a minimum. Luckily we had a contractor doing it so he was capable of adapting as he went.
We had 1 major frustration with delivery. We were told we had our delivery date booked in and we needed to pay before delivery date and they would contact us. No contact happened and when I phoned them 3 days before delivery they said they changed their procedures after I placed the order and payment needed to be 10 days before delivery, despite me telling them it had to be delivered on time as a contractor was booked they strung me along and the pergola was delivered 3 days late. I lost money to the contractor I had paid and had to wait a month until he was available again. Hygge did nothing about it.
The 2nd problem was that they advised before ordering that I could have 3 side blinds based on conversations and photos I sent, but actually I couldn't as one of the ends was slightly over my window and the side blind needs a bar running down the wall the guide the blind. I dont know how the customer team didnt suss that one out from the pictures I sent them but it meant I had to send it back and I'm still waiting on a refund 4 weeks later- again they advise they had a change in process and this is the reason for the delay....
The customer care was professional and polite but ultimately they didnt manage to rectify their mistakes when they changed their process and caused alot of problems and stress.
The pergola was to allow outdoor socialisation while my partner was severely immunocompromised and unwell and the added stress of hygge poor processes were the last thing I needed.

In summary, great product, well meaning but rubbish customer care and organisation. Dont seem to plan changes to their processes well.

Having said that, I woukd do it again as the finished product is great.

Booked a date with Hygge to have Pergola erected at a later date and they promptly turned up and completed installation

The team were very helpful in helping me with the design on an attached pergola on my cottage which wasnt a straigth forward design due to the external finish of the building
Delivery was 2 weeks after ordering and a straight forward easy build and fix by Hygge team on the date arranged
I have had a lot of comments from visitor who have similar pergolas and they all comment on the sturdiness of mine against their aluminium pergolas

Purchased few months ago and finally got the pergola up and installed in time for the fantastic weather we have been having. Installation was very straight forward and only required two people. We also purchased blinds for three of the sides and a patterned end for the remaining side which were also easy to install. At the time of ordering we had to wait a while due to a shortage of stock but were kept very much informed by the team at Hygge and understood that this was not there fault. It’s a shame can’t post pictures here or would have posted pictures of how amazing the Pergola looks. Great product and thank you

The pergola arrived when stated and in good condition, it has been up a year now and is as good as the day we assembled it.

We’ve been really impressed by this company and the pergola we’ve received. We went for a 4x3m pergola attached to the back of our house with a blind on the front and included lights and heater. We were given a lead time for delivery which allowed for manufacture etc and it arrived on time.
Instructions were easy to follow and the pergola was up at the end of day 1. The electrician fitted the lights and heater the following day. We ordered a further blind for one of our sides and again received excellent service.
Several months on and we’ve had no issues in day to day use.

What’s stands out for me is the quality of the product and ease of construction. The delivery was at the outside edge of expected timescales however all communication was prompt and honest. We are still waiting for the pull down blind but this was made clear from the outset. That apart the pergola itself was well packaged, straightforward to install with 2 people and impressive in quality. I would use the company again and look forward to receiving the remainder of the order in due course.

We had our 3x4m pergola with two sliding screens installed nearly a year ago, and leaving a review after experiencing it across all four seasons feels much more accurate!

​Ordering & Installation:
Because these are made to order, there was a couple of months' lead time, but we were informed from the start and kept updated. On installation day, the team was delayed, but kept us in the loop throughout. The three installers worked incredibly hard, staying late into the night (finishing around 10pm using their phone torches!) to make sure the job was completed properly. Their work ethic was incredible.

​All-Weather Performance & Year-Round Use:
Having used it for a full year now, it has completely transformed how we use our garden:
​Autumn/Winter: The built-in heater is an absolute must-have add-on! In the colder months, my husband loves pulling the sliding screens down to block the wind and relaxes under the heater.

​Spring/Summer: It’s been a cool oasis in our sunburnt garden. Whether it’s my morning coffee, drinks with friends, or a full family BBQ with our outdoor kitchen setup, it provides fantastic shade.

​Rain: It keeps us completely dry during sudden downpours. Best of all, when you open the roof slats after it rains, the water drains away through the internal structural beams rather than dripping onto you or your outdoor furniture!

​Lighting & Ambiance:
The integrated lights give a lovely ambient glow and colour feature (we’ve also added a few solar and task lights for extra reading light).

​Almost a year on, I can confidently say this was a fantastic purchase that has done everything we wanted and more. We’ve had endless compliments from friends and family, and we’re thoroughly enjoying it!

We purchased our pergola a few months ago now and absolutely love it! We also ordered a blind for the front, which my wife particularly loves as it does a great job of keeping the sun out.

We went for the model that connects directly to the house, and we’re really impressed with how watertight it is when it rains. It has made the space so much more usable, whatever the weather.

Delivery was quick and everything arrived as expected. The instructions were clear and straightforward, so it was fairly easy to put together myself, although I definitely needed a spare pair of hands for a few parts of the installation!

Overall, we’re really happy with the pergola and would definitely recommend it. It looks great, feels well made and has been a fantastic addition to our garden.

Excellent pergola, we have had our pergola for almost a year now, excellent quality, price and no issues with delivery. One of our blind was damaged in storm last year and we needed an extra part, With prompt customer service - it was delivered to us. It was the best price for the 6 by 3 meter pergola with four sides … Lights and one heater. Highly recommend.

We have had the Pergola for around a year now and are very pleased with the look, Quality and functionality of the Pergola. I have not seen anything of the same quality in stores.
It took longer than expected for it to be delivered, but that has been forgotten and was worth the wait.

After spending a lot of time looking in to getting an aluminium pergola I found it difficult to get one that met the height we needed to get over out back doors. Whilst this is free standing it is positioned directly outside the house to give us that extra space.
I had worry about Hygge being an online company and very nearly ended up paying a premium just to get one from a physical showroom for that "piece of mind" but in the end went with Hygge and saved a fortune.
Everything was delivered when expected.... Note we got the 4 x 3 and so some parted are VERY long which I hadn't thought about when it comes to getting through my house.
We also got the sliding sides and there are also very heavy to move.
I built it over 2/3 evenings with my wife and single bolted it to the ground in each corner... I doubt it would move with the overall weight... But was best to be safe.
During the building process I managed to break the ends to the sliding frame... Read the instructions carefully and have 2 step ladders at hand... But Hygge just sent me out a replacement part for free.
We have had it up now for nearly a year (built in October) and it has been a game changer for using the outside.

The pergola itself is GREAT! Dealing with Hygge was a nightmare from beginning to end. Communications, promised delivery dates and answering questions was awful. It’s a shame as the pergola is fantastic, we’re really enjoying using it through this wonderful summer but the headache dealing with Hygge was unacceptable.

We purchased a 4 x 3 pergola last year with a set of 3 blinds, heater and led lights. The main pergola came as promised with the main side blind. Installation was a doddle and we are really pleased with the quality and look of the pergola. We did have a delay with the heater (which was a freebie in effect as part of the bundle) and the side blinds which was marginally annoying but nothing to get too stressed about. Everyone comments on how good it looks when they visit so we’re really pleased we purchased.
