HPP CARES CDE is a California nonprofit HUD Approved consumer credit, debt, and housing counseling agency. Our organization understands the challenges the average consumer faces when it comes to being overextended with financial constraints such as debt. Knowing this, we are committed to educating consumers with an emphasis on financial literacy. Our certified HUD Approved housing counselors provide personal assistance through budget counseling, housing counseling, and debt management strategies to lower interest rates and monthly payments. We can address the issues at hand by improving access to credit for low-to-moderate income and historically underserved communities (BIPOC) households through qualified programs that identify and support them. These include but are not limited to affordable housing, homeownership, small business technical assistance, financial literacy, and economic development, ultimately establishing the framework needed for sustaining communities, neighborhoods, and households. It is unfortunate that in 2022 essential skills regarding the management of household finances are lacking in K-12 education. A lack of financial literacy leads many consumers to learn these lessons the hard way, putting them in difficult positions that can be tough to recover from. To further address existing issues, our agency implements the latest multilingual technology bridging the divide to ensure consumers from any background have access to the resources and knowledge they need to make sound decisions and better their financial situations.

Katherine initially informed that I have been awarded the grant. Jhon set up the meeting with Omar. Omar followed it up today explaining which type of work can be funded with the grant and which ones will not qualify. All have been very cordial in their conversations with me. I am excited to work with them for the duration of the project.

I can't write enough about the experience I had working with HPP Cares, but what I will say is that they really do care. I spoke with Jasmin Catbagan and no matter how confused I was and asked her to repeat herself she took her time and explained the process until I understood it completely. She was kind and patient no matter how many times I asked her to repeat it or how many times I clarified it. I also spoke with Katherine People's last year and she was exceptional as well. Overall, my experience has been great and I'm sure it will continue throughout the ADU build. Thanks HPP Cares.

Super responsive and incredibly caring with regard to helping me understand all of options and talking it through. It has been difficult at times to get definitive answers from HHPCARES. I know they are trying to help many people. From my perspective, the lack of timely payment of invoices to my ADU contractor was negatively impacting our project. Then came Gabriela, who in one or two calls explained all of my issues, then proceeded to fast track my invoices so that I now feel confident that my contractor will be paid on time.

I have called several times to request àn update on my file. Today I was transferred to Gabriela. I spoke with Gabriela briefly because I was driving. She assured me that I could call her back. (I was nervous about ending the call) Gabriela stood by her word. l called her back, (after five) AND SHE ANSWERED) with a very pleasant, patient voice willing to help. I appricated the kindess.
