I received a cold call from this…

I received a cold call from this company from the number 03301242031. The individual on the other end refused to answer how they obtained my number, and were generally evasive on what company they worked for and why they were contacting me. When I asked to make a complaint and register a GDPR data access request to establish how they obtained my information, they immediately hung up. I called back, their AI service immediately hung up as soon as I uttered the word "complaint".

Looking at the website, the testimonials are fake (a reverse image search of any of the listed "customers" brings up an identical series of stock images), they state they have hundreds of reviews on Yelp and Google but are not listed at all on those sites, and the site has only been up since Nov 2024. The postal address is that of Icon Offices, a company that provides virtual offices for hire. A quick search of the address under the .gov company site indicates 155,269 companies operate from there.

So we've got an eight month old company that makes dodgy calls and unlawful data protection policies, fake reviews, and a non-existant office. Avoid like the plague.
