We loved the location. The harbor views are beautiful. A great selections of restaurants are available, although most are closed in February. The apartment itself is tired. It needs renovation. T... See more

Be careful when you are booking through HousingAnywhere. I found a room in Paris through HosuingAnywhere (HA) and the room seemed decent at first. I was charged HA service fee (of course), tennant protection fee (we'll get to this) and HA ren guarantee (depends on the length of your stay, optional.) I started conversing with the "landlord" who, as soon as I paid the inital fees on HA, directed me to "his colleagues". Turns out, it is a rental agency called Joivy, (visit their trustpilot site, it is a fun visit). I have never interacted with worse customer service in my life. You might say, "Hey, this is a Joivy issue, not a HousingAnyhwere issue" Well, I had communication and mold problems after two months in the flat and decided to move out (initally booked for 4 months). I had paid for hte HA rent guarantee based on the total duration of the rental. Also I paid the tennants protection. So when I asked for protection, they replied with "The protection is only valid for 48 hours after move in" Fine.
My point is this: If you are booking through HA, be careful about Joivy. It is not at all clear if you are interacting with an indiviual landlord or a scammy real estate agency. Double check before you book. To be honest, until they delist listings like this, I can't believe I'm saying this but you are better off booking through AirBnB
My request for HA: Take Joivy related things taken off your platform, or regulate them better. They are borderline scammy. You get two stars because your customer communication is decent, compared to Joviy.

I felt super preshured to reserve a place I was just looking at. Also I think that there should me a filter for just female roomates because it was really hard for me to find accomodation like that.

Since they seemed to have ripped of thousands of people, I decided to start a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT against them.
We will not only get the refund for rents and their fraudulent "customer protection fee".
We will also get compensation for the stress and damage to our health, caused by forcing us in such scandalous situations.
We should get at least €10.000,-- per victim.
Please put "CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT" in the title of your review.
As soon as I see a good response, I will start a website to organize the law suit.
I will post the website here.
Together we can bring them down.
This way we also can protect future potential victims.

Thank you so much! You were a tremendous help in finding accommodation in Barcelona, such a vibrant city where finding a place to live can sometimes be difficult. Connecting the landlord and tenant was easy, especially thanks to your secure payment system.
Thanks again!

I found a property I was interested in, but needed to ask a question. To do so I need to open account. Could not open account - error 104 and told me to contact customer care/support. Support is very primitive AI, which after a few loops told me to contact support on exactly the same address that I was talking to it on. I pointed that out and it asked if I would like to be put in contact with a human. That was 24 hours ago and counting.

I liked the whole process of renting an apartment, very easy and secure.

The company is ok and offer everything you need.
The problem is that you have to pay 400€ for an insurance that it won’t help you have problems after the first day of rent. For example, the landlord did not return the deposit back.
He said he sent the deposit back and when I asked for a proof since I did not receive anything he started to find some excuses and then he disappeared

i was able to find good housing, looking through multiple different options. The service fee was a bit extreme, but I believe what it stands for is good, and feels like a good insurance.

Easy to use platform, providing target tenant type match too. Management of financials is easy, and owner has the opportunity to accept or decline rental offers - the closest online version of a real handshake.

You get absolutely zero support from housinganyewehere regarding anything! I moved into an apartment on a Saturday. On Monday started a house renovation wall to wall to the apartment I wan in. They said since more than 48 h had passed they can’t help me. I moved out after 1 Week instead of 2 Months, still waiting for my deposit and they won’t help me there either. They said if the landlord won’t give me the deposit back, I should hire a local lawyer. I experienced new levels of disappointment with this “group”. Not sure why they charged me 350€ for their great support. Never again.

Rachid is a very responsive and friendly landlord who will go out of his way to help his tenants. The apartment is exactly as described too, close to Rotterdam Centraal with easy access to transportation.

The booking got cancelled after confirmation with less than 3 days to move. I already made my payment too. Not sure when I'll get back. And what will happen to the service fee?

I had a perfect experience at this rental! The hosts were incredibly nice and went above and beyond to be helpful. Even when some unexpected circumstances arose, they were extremely understanding and did everything they could to support me throughout my stay. I didn't face a single issue the entire time. They are truly wonderful people, and if I’m ever back in the area, I will definitely book with them again without hesitation!

Please RUN from the website for your own safetey and sanity. This website is scam website for collecting additional fees. They don't answer inquiries, they don't protect (or even respond to) the tenant even though they charge hundreds of dollars on top of each listing for "tenant protection."
To respond to the business: I was referring to Housing Anywhere's lack of response, not just the landlord. But I need to add that they really do not care about tenants at all; I found out they removed my unfavorable review of the landlord. I have screenshots and photographs that show that every word was accurate. But they don't care about that--all they care about is making sure that as many rentals happen through their website and that their sketchy fees keep rolling in. My review included issues that were dangerous for female tenants, but they clearly did not care to allow others to be warned. These people disgust me. I have been an entrepreneur myself and understand having allegiance to the bottom line, but not at the expense of safety or of the truth. Now seeing all the other one star reviews I know my experience is not an isolated one and I really wish I had checked trust pilot before doing business with them. To one of the owners or executives, I know your name is Alexandra: As a fellow woman you should be ashamed of yourself.

Selina was very active and available. Some technical issues could have been slightly improved, but the apartment is still a great option with a fantastic location. It was a good experience.

Carlota is completely unprofessional and disrespectful. She ignored messages, and responded with a rude, dismissive tone. The apartment was dirty, furniture and amenities in terrible condition. A total nightmare, never renting from her again.
