It was a wonderful experience, saves time and very efficient. Thank you housinganywhere. Such a great app

I booked a room that turned out to be a third of the listed size in a mouldy flat with issues in the room, the kitchen and the bathroom.
HousingAnywhere took on average 4 days to respond to my attempts to get into contact, the phone "hotline" was overrun and kicked me out.
They then pushed me out of the cancellation timeframe and allowed the listing company to just relist my room without fixing the issues I told them about.

I had a very good experience. The service was professional, clear, and helpful. Everything was explained properly and the process went smoothly. I really appreciate the support and responsiveness. I would definitely recommend this service to others

It is a good option to find where to live for longer periods and cheaper than Rbnb.
The problems start when you have to connect with the real landowner, beyond HousingAnywhere. I suggest you never delegate the contact. We, the customers are yours and you own us permanent connection . Do everything through your page

I was robbed, the website did not help me, and I was scammed.

This has been an absolutely terrible experience and I strongly advise everyone: never book here. I rented an apartment through HousingAnywhere managed by Joivy and what I found upon arrival was completely unacceptable and honestly shocking.
From the very first moment things went wrong. We were initially given the wrong key and only later received the correct one. When we finally entered the apartment, it was filthy beyond belief. The kitchen and bathroom were extremely dirty, clearly not cleaned before move-in. But the problem was not just dirt — the apartment was simply uninhabitable. There was no hot water in the shower and the shower itself was broken, with the shower rod detached and unusable. The washing machine looked damaged and in very poor condition. The oven and microwave did not work at all and need replacement. The stovetop was unsafe to use because the extractor hood above it was in such terrible condition that you would not dare to cook underneath it. The mattress was also unacceptable and unhygienic.
This means you cannot shower, you cannot cook, and you cannot properly live there. These are basic human needs. An apartment in this state should never, ever be rented out.
Trying to get help made everything even worse. The Joivy app, which you are required to use for payments and maintenance requests, did not work from the beginning. Because of this, I could not properly submit maintenance requests. I contacted them via WhatsApp, via the platform, and repeatedly sent photos as proof. Instead of taking responsibility and offering a real solution, I was constantly redirected to other “channels” and told to contact someone else. No one took ownership. No one provided immediate action. Just endless back-and-forth messages while I was standing in an unlivable apartment in a foreign country.
On top of that, there are high admin fees, a mandatory final cleaning fee, deposit payments, and strict cancellation conditions. You are expected to pay everything perfectly and on time, yet they do not deliver even the most basic living standards in return.
Moving to another country is already stressful enough. Arriving and discovering that your apartment is dirty, broken, and uninhabitable — with no real support — is devastating. This experience caused enormous stress and disappointment.
If you are an Erasmus student, an international student, or anyone relocating, please be extremely careful. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend booking with Joivy via HousingAnywhere under any circumstances. This was a horrible experience and I would never book here again.

I was happy in this home. Mrs. Daniela is very kind and friendly. The location is very perfect. Close the metro station, market, and city center. The neighborhood and neighbors are very quiet. In my opinion the best place to stay.

Very disappointing experience with HousingAnywhere in Vienna.
The accommodation I booked was significantly different from what was advertised. Upon arrival, the property was in poor and unacceptable condition, with serious hygiene and maintenance issues. It did not correspond to the description or photographs on the platform.
I contacted HousingAnywhere on the day of arrival, and again the following day, through multiple channels, providing evidence and requesting assistance. Despite timely communication, no satisfactory solution was offered.

My experience with HousingAnywhere has been very negative and concerning as a consumer.
A payment was made through the platform for an accommodation booking in Riga. Shortly afterward, the landlord acknowledged in writing that the property had already been rented before the payment was accepted, due to a system error. In other words, payment was taken for a booking that could not be fulfilled.
A full refund was requested immediately. More than two weeks have passed, and no reimbursement has been issued, despite the fact that the service was never provided and the error was clearly acknowledged.
The platform allowed:
Payment to be taken for an unavailable property
The refund not to be processed promptly
A situation where the consumer remains unprotected, despite a “tenant protection fee” being charged
As the payer, I have been forced to initiate a bank chargeback procedure and prepare a complaint with European consumer protection authorities in order to attempt recovery of the funds.
I would not recommend this platform unless you are prepared to face delays and formal disputes to recover your money in the event of a problem.
Issue still unresolved at the time of posting this review.
UPDATE:
Thank you for your response.
However, there is an important clarification that your reply does not reflect accurately. This was not a cancellation initiated by me. The booking was terminated by your side because the property was not available, as the landlord acknowledged in writing.
The refund was requested immediately after we were notified that the accommodation was unavailable, through your own platform’s chat system. This occurred on January 28, before the move-in date of February 1, and therefore well before any 48-hour post–move-in window could apply.
As the service was impossible from the outset, and the refund was requested prior to the start of the rental period, this situation cannot reasonably be treated as a late cancellation. Any internal payout timing between the platform and the advertiser should not affect the consumer’s right to a refund for a service that was never available.
The issue therefore remains unresolved.

In addition to the dormitory-related issues, the intermediary booking platform charges a fee of 172 euros simply for using its application, without providing any meaningful assistance, added value, or direct support throughout the process. The platform functions merely as a middleman, yet the fee is disproportionately high considering the lack of active service, problem-solving, or follow-up. This additional cost places an unnecessary financial burden on students and is not justified by the level of service provided.

I lived in this apartment for an extended period, and after my stay, I have nothing but great things to say. If you are looking for a high quality of life in a beautiful setting, this is the place.
The Neighborhood & Location
The location is absolutely perfect. Within a 2-minute walk, you have incredible spots at your disposal, such as the Horticulture Garden and the Stibbert Museum and Park, along with several other charming small parks that are simply beautiful.
For daily essentials, Penny Market and Esselunga are close by and always convenient. Commuting is also a breeze; the tram stop is just an 8-minute walk from the front door. The area feels incredibly safe and scenic—perfect for anyone who enjoys a peaceful, walkable lifestyle.
Hospitality
The experience with Giuseppe and Giovanni was excellent. They were always available to help with our needs and stayed on top of any minor issues that arose in the apartment. I have nothing but praise for them as hosts.
Final Verdict
I highly recommend living here. I am certain that anyone moving in will feel safe, happy, and right at home from day one!

vIf you are willing to pay a high fee for the services of a preposterously indolent customer support, who will not assist you in case of scams and you don´t mind them indulging sketchy administrators to charge unexpected fees or fines, willing to o absolutely nothing for you, Housinganywhere is a guarantee of a very top-notch unilateral and potentially abusive experience... Please avoid for the sake of your wallet and mental peace.

UPDATE 10.02.2026
Standard courtesy replies cannot hide the reality: I reported the uninhabitable conditions within minutes of check-in, perfectly respecting your 48-hour policy. The agency itself has already officially registered the 'Move-Out' because the property was unlivable. You are withholding my money for a service that was never provided, effectively protecting a defaulting landlord instead of the tenant. This isn't a 'misunderstanding'—it's a refusal to honor your own guarantees. See you at the European Consumer Centre (ECC)."
"MOVE-IN WITH CONFIDENCE" IS A FRAUD | Verified Scam & The 48-Hour Trap
Review: HousingAnywhere’s slogan "Move-in with confidence" is a total lie. They claim: "We keep your payment safe... If the place doesn’t match the description, you’ll get a refund." This is bait for a trap.
I have spent over €2,000 for an apartment from a "VERIFIED LANDLORD" (Bem Coliving) that turned out to be a rotting hovel.
The Reality: The photos were fake. The place smelled of rot, furniture was falling apart, and the shower didn't even have a door.
The Fraud: Wi-Fi and TV were advertised as amenities. In reality, there was NO Wi-Fi and the TV had no power outlets to plug it into.
The 48-Hour Scam: I reported these "Material Differences" IMMEDIATELY. HousingAnywhere is currently holding €917 of my money (first month's rent + Tenant Protection Fee) and refuses to refund it. They stalled and gave vague replies until the 48-hour window closed, then cynically claimed it was "too late" for a refund.
They verify scammers, pocket your "protection fee," and then hide behind bureaucratic deadlines to keep your money while you are left in a filthy, unlivable room. They protect their commissions and their dishonest partners, not the tenants. SHAMEFUL AND COMPLICIT. DO NOT USE THIS PLATFORM.

Housing anywhere it’s not a good ideia since you pay the first month of rent without reading the landlord contract before. I won’t use housing anywhere again. Bad experience and I lost money.

Even though this app offers an accomodation only in bigger european cities, it is better than booking or aitbnb, because it offers long term accom and 15% less prices. You must pay some fee (approx 50% of a month wage) to HousingAnywhere (HoAn) but that is OK, because the landlord receives an insurance from HoAn that covers him expenses in case of the tenant does not pay a wage. Wages can be set for a month, two weeks, week or daily, depends on landlord.

⚠️ Warning – serious and misleading experience with HousingAnywhere!
Although the website claims that it verifies and checks landlords and rental companies, my personal experience shows that this does not reflect reality, and their customer service is severely lacking.
I conducted negotiations for about a month with a landlord/rental company in Milan (a person named Giovanni). Throughout this period, the conduct was inconsistent: sudden disappearances, delayed responses, and frequent changes in position. Eventually, we reached an agreement, and I completed the booking and paid the first month’s rent through the site.
Only after the payment, the landlord demanded that I pay the security deposit and management fees directly to his bank account, outside the platform, and without an official receipt, without any company documents or an Italian tax number (Partita IVA), and without a formal contract, despite he having promised one.
All of this before I arrived in Milan and before seeing the apartment in person and none of these conditions appeared in the original listing or were agreed upon in advance.
Later on, I discovered that the landlord had modified the listing and added these requirements afterward, in order to claim that I had agreed to them from the beginning. Fortunately, I had screenshots of the original listing as well as full documentation of all our correspondence.
I contacted HousingAnywhere’s support team and provided all the evidence.
The response took long time, and in the meantime, I was forced to stay in a hotel in Milan for approximately two weeks at my own expense, until I managed to find another apartment.
Eventually, after many interactions with the site they refunded me the money.
However they refused to allow me to publish a review about the landlord on their website, and no sanctions were taken against him, despite explicit promises before.
The same landlord continues to advertise on the platform and scam other people, publishing multiple listings with different details, even though they all refer to the same apartment and the same room...
so my clear recommendation-
Do not use HousingAnywhere. Do not rely on its promises of verification and protection, and do not risk your money through this platform!

I regret ever using HousingAnywhere to book a room. I paid a deposit over a year ago, and I have yet to receive a single penny back. Despite numerous attempts to contact customer service, I've been met with silence and excuses. It’s clear that once they have your money, they do not care about keeping their promise.
This experience has not only been financially stressful but also emotionally draining as I am left feeling cheated. I urge potential customers to think twice before using this service. You deserve better than to be treated this way.
Steer clear of HousingAnywhere if you value your money and peace of mind!
