Great experience overall. The apartment is in a prime location, making daily life easy. I really appreciated the monthly cleaning service included. Also, I was lucky to have such nice flatmates and polite neighbors, making it a very comfortable place to live.

★★★★★ I had an absolutely outstanding experience with HousingAnywhere. I was especially impressed with my landlord – incredibly friendly, reliable, and genuinely supportive. Communication was always quick, clear, and respectful, and from the very beginning I felt I was in truly good hands. The apartment matched the description 100%, was clean, well-maintained, and perfectly prepared. Throughout the entire rental period, any questions or concerns were addressed immediately. Such a professional yet warm and human approach is rare to find. I can wholeheartedly recommend HousingAnywhere – and especially my wonderful landlord. Thank you for this entirely positive experience

Great experience overall! From Housing Anywhere through talking to the landlord!

Totally delusional.
I am completely disappointed with Zappyrent.
Imagine coming from far away only to face such a situation… a dirty house with no evidence of proper hygiene. Broken beds, filthy mattresses, a floor covered in dirt, and three bathrooms with no ventilation! The atmosphere was suffocating.
I let know Zappyrent before my CHECK IN that there are COACKROACHES at the apartment. And they charged me for the disinfestation!
During my short stay, Zappyrent was unable to fix any of these problems. And after my stay, the company arbitrarily decided to keep my security deposit! When I asked for the reason, Zappyrent claimed “cleaning services” and “disinfestation”. I cleaned the place myself both during check-in and check-out, without seeing any cleaner at any point—although Zappyrent claimed otherwise.
Living with cockroaches? Seriously?
And then you kept money from my security deposit for disinfestation?
Your company is truly unacceptable… thankfully the houses at least exist.
You know who I am, you have my phone numbers. This is yet another major scam you are committing.

Booked two apartments through HousingAnywhere in Vienna — both were misrepresented, uninhabitable, and had to be abandoned within 24 hours. In the first case (October) the flat was filthy and the previous tenant had keys; HA eventually processed a refund only after the landlord cancelled, not because they upheld their “Tenant Protection” guarantee. In the second case (November), the listing showed the flat in a different district, but the landlord disclosed the real address after payment. The apartment was unbearably noisy, smelly, poorly insulated and sleepless — I reported the issues within 24 hours and vacated the same day. HousingAnywhere blocked the payout but refused a refund. Their communications were contradictory: at times they promised deposit and fee reimbursement, then later slashed the refund amount, demanded extra explanation, and eventually told me to file a chargeback if I wanted the first month’s rent back. Almost a month later, I’m still waiting for €5000 for less than 24 hours in the flat. HousingAnywhere’s “Tenant Protection” is a sham. Their support is slow, evasive, inconsistent and irresponsible. Emails take days to get responses. And their phone support is literally never available.

I want to warn others about a serious issue I experienced with a HousingAnywhere listing and the agency behind it.
Some time ago I paid €1,000 to book an apartment in the Netherlands through HousingAnywhere. The listing was marked as a “trusted agency.” I uploaded all required documents on the platform , including proof of enrollment and occupation and landlord confirmed everything was accepted and send me the request to book and I did pay .
After that, the agency began asking for additional documents off the platform that were never listed as required on HousingAnywhere. I provided everything they asked for, but they kept coming back with new demands (grantor papers, tax codes, contracts, etc.) and repeatedly claimed the documents were “not enough.” Eventually, they refused to give me the apartment and did not cancel the booking or refund my money (although these happened three months before check in).
Contacting HousingAnywhere took four days. When they finally replied, they simply said they “trust the agency” and claimed I had agreed to provide any documents they asked for which contradicts what is said on their website and the original confirmation they sent. HousingAnywhere offered no refund, said it was “my responsibility,” and left me with nothing in return for the €1,000 I paid.
I also contacted a student organization, and they confirmed that several others had the same experience with HousingAnywhere and different agencies. They are collecting evidence for potential legal action. And to be clear, I am sure that if this message becomes visible, HousingAnywhere will respond with something like “we didn’t know” or “contact support” , But based on what I’ve seen and what student organizations have told me, this is not isolated case, it has already happened to many people, and it continues happening.
In my opinion, this is a coordinated scam ,agencies use HousingAnywhere to take deposits, demand unlimited off-platform documents, then refuse the booking, while HousingAnywhere does nothing and keeps the money flowing. If you experience similar behavior, repeated off-platform document demands, refusal to cancel, you are likely being scammed. I am staying in contact with the student organization that is collecting evidence from multiple affected people. If HousingAnywhere continues to ignore these cases and I hear about more victims, I will begin sharing my full story publicly including all documentation, screenshots, and proof from the affected parties to raise awareness and prevent others from being scammed in the same way.

No call back on user issue , the landlord is asking me to submit the contract which isn’t right , moreover , first landlord I contacted Linda asked me to get the PayPal account transfer which also shows excellent and verified landlord , your platform shows she is excellent host same as mr Yaning who is likely to be a scam one ..

The building is filthy and smells horrible, especially in the walkways and elevator. The common areas are either nonexistent or completely unusable, even though they look fine in the pictures. Most things in the apartment don’t work, and several kitchen appliances were missing—with staff blaming previous tenants. I wasn’t informed where to pick up my key, met the staff by chance, and would have ended up in a hotel otherwise. Overall, these were the worst four months of my life

I had a great experience renting from Rudi. He is a very reliable and responsive landlord who always replies quickly whenever something comes up. Any issues were resolved fast and professionally, which made my stay stress-free. The property was well maintained and looked exactly like the pictures on the listing, so there were no surprises on arrival. Overall, Rudi is trustworthy and easy to communicate with — I would happily rent from him again and recommend him to future tenants.

Irresponsible Company with Irrational Practices
I tried to rent a place using this platform, found a listing, picked the dates and paid the first month's rent and comission rate to housinganywhere in advance.
Then a couple minutes later I received a message from the agency on the platform, that I need to pay a deposit to the bank account of the real estate agency that is worth twice amount of the rent in 72 hours, or I will lose my chance to secure the apartment, and the listing will not be removed until I pay this amount. Keep in mind that apartment viewing is not possible when someone rents from this platform as well.
So let's get things straight, I'm using housinganywhere to get an escrow service, in another words using housinganywhere as a third party to secure my payment and prevent myself getting scammed until I see the apartment and I am paying an extra for this service, which I normally am not supposed to pay if I rent the apartment directly from the agency,
Then the agency on the housinganywhere has the audacity to ask deposit payment weeks before move in by their own platform, despite having received the down payment already, and housinganywhere doesn't see any problems with this.
If that's considered a normal practice, then what is the purpose of using a platform like housinganywhere?
