I had a very disappointing experience with Hosting Power and would strongly advise others to be cautious.
I booked a three-month stay based on the photos and description provided on their platform. However, upon arrival, the property was significantly different from what was advertised. It did not reflect the condition shown in the listing, and I felt misled.
Because of this, I checked out immediately and contacted Hosting Power to request that my booking be reinstated so I could secure alternative accommodation through their platform. This request was refused, leaving me without support despite the issue arising from a misleading listing.
It was only after I raised the possibility of legal action that they offered a free booking, but this came weeks later when I had already secured alternative accommodation, making the offer impractical. After further back and forth, they proposed a 50% refund, meaning I would lose €208.63 out of the €417.26 I paid. They made it clear that a full refund would not be issued.
This experience raises serious concerns about their claim that properties are vetted. In my case, the accommodation clearly did not match what was advertised.
I believe this situation amounts to misrepresentation and a failure to provide the service as described. I will now be pursuing this matter through the Small Claims Court to recover my money.
I would strongly recommend that anyone considering using Hosting Power proceed with caution and ensure they fully verify listings before making payment.

The room I rented is really good, and I’m very happy with it. It looks exactly like the photos, and the family is friendly and welcoming. It’s great to have a place where you can enjoy your privacy and personal space while also being around kind, open-minded people. I recommend Hosting Power because it’s easy to rent, and the support is very helpful. One important tip is to apply for the room you really want first and wait for feedback, because once a host accepts your request, your other applications are automatically cancelled.

I am very happy with this service. The clients are very nice, with all the background work done for you it makes it a very easy process.

I have been hosting on this site for quite a number of years now and found them fantastic for finding my guests. You get a summary of your guest who have been security checked by hosting power and then you can accept or decline the booking request. Although sometimes I feel that some requests are looking for a cheap holiday accommodation. Having all bills included isn't ideal either. Hence the reduction in the star. But overall they have been wonderful for finding guests
