I am a long-running HostGator client. They're reps have always been professional, prompt and polite. I don't ever recall having an issue that they could not resolve within the first conversation.

Don't risk your business and waste your time. Hostgator can by their own choosing shut your website down, reject your tech support emails and drag their feet to respond to tech support phone or chat. Your business will be shut because of them.
P.S. You see how they responded that they want us to contact them. It's a pretense. No one is available at their customer support lines. Only people who ask us to respond to an email they sent. We responded multiple times. We get an error back that the email addresses does not exist. Can you imagine running a hosting company and not knowing how to set up your own emails correctly (the customer support email) so that you can receive responses from your customers. Ha ha. The comedy writes itself. We reported the email error in their chats. No result. They still ask us to respond to the emails, ignoring our reported rejected emails. Our solution was to quickly open an account with another hosting company and use archives to restore our website.
See the response from them here is someone signing as a Customer Advocate. There is no such person on the lines when you call them. It's just a person that responds to reviews.
To the person signing as a Customer Advocate:
- what way can people contact you?
- we asked for the manager on the support chats and the managers had worse English than the first level guy; no assistance kept saying we need to respond to the email after we showed them we responded and we got email error back saying such email addresses doesn't exist (I know you may not be a technical person - ask a person who knows computers what that means - a hosting company not knowing how to set their most important email - customer service emails. To help you understand that's like let's say Verizon offering a phone service but you always have to walk to their offices for customer service because they don't know how to turn their phones on so you can never call them.).
- we asked about the most senior person available in the company. Those guys clearly not located in the US and not speaking good English were the only ones available. So you left the company to be run by two guys in the Philippines for $3.5 an hour? Is this the strategy?
- tell your managers that having people with the title Customer Advocate but not really allowing technical channels for customers to get technical support makes the whole company look not very serious. It's all a show. Luckily there are plenty of US based hosting companies with real support.

Best CS service from a Hosting Company
This is the best customer service experience I have had in years. The rep was pleasant to deal with and took care of my problem in real time. I have never had this experience with any hosting company before.

We paid for Business Plan, super slow hosting, server crashes and when it is not, super poor performance. I can see the performance difference when I had no choice to migrate my client's website from SiteGround to HostGator.
