Appalling
Appalling - it was really easier to apply for a passport. Valid documents for photo ID and proof of address were rejected. Its "Liveness" "Proof" required a live photo via a mobile, or Webcam. Using a phone it needed a selfie from very close so that the image was distorted! This apparently was then matched to posed pictures on photo ID material. No, really, getting a passport is far easier!
Terrible
Terrible. Another online organisation which rejects valid documents. There must be a bunch of monkeys trying to read the documents, but more than likely just poorly coded AI which cannot verify valid documents.
Waste of time and highly frustrating.
I would give 0 stars if I could.
SHICKING!
SHICKING!! Oh my goodness. Utterly useless service. Rejected valid documents, asked me to wait for one document to be approved, never happened and then told me after 24 hours that because I hadn't followed up. So tried again, got 99% there and then it froze. For ever. Companies - ditch this company. Customers - insist on another way to get ID'd
Totally agree with other reviews
Totally agree with other reviews. Platform insists on you taking photos, and does not allow you to upload documents that you have online. I’ve now tried two legitimate documents to prove my address and had to wait hours each time, only to be told that they were rejected. Each met the required criteria. I’m trying to be guarantor for my nephews rental and he might lose the flat as a result of this delay.
Won’t let you upload proof of address…
Won’t let you upload proof of address docs, have to take a picture instead, even though most documents are sent online nowadays.
We've put a payment on hold
Tried to pay a bill. Bank suggested suspicious activity. I rang them and they wanted to do a Hooyu identity check. Tried on android phone, android tablet, chrome, brave, laptop, chrome, brave and Firefox. No luck. Passport uploaded and 'liveness check' wouldn't. I cannot believe the banks are happy to inconvenience their customers in this way. 1hr 13 mins wasted so far and no further and I have a degree in Computer Science!
Shocking facility

Terrible facility

This is the worst identity program I have used. Useless
No stars if I could
No stars if I could. Trapped in a Kafka-esque nightmare of repeatedly submitting valid ID documents which are summarily rejected. It appears that thanks to this software I am permanently unable to open a bank account with Ulster Bank. No business seeking legitimate customers should pay to use this service.
Useless company
Useless company, Equifax use to confirm ID. All photos despite being clear were rejected and I can see I am not alone with this.
They obstruct access to statutory credit report
Firstly, I answered all of Equifax's credit questions from my file correctly; notwithstanding I was then forced to use their "agent" Hooyu for purported "further verification". They wanted a live picture of me, photograph of my passport and proof of address (I uploaded recent bank statement). That was rejected so uploaded recent gas bill - also rejected.
Then they contacted me again saying my passport was rejected as it wasn't signed (it clearly was), and anyway, as if the UK Passport Agency would issue without signature!
I replied to their "Do Not Reply" email and demanded to know why they stated Equifax was rejecting my documents. Within minutes Hooyu capitulated and confirmed all three of my documents were accepted.
Both Hooyu and Equifax miss the point - this was a statutory request. I have complained to the Financial Conduct Authority to look into the licencing terms of these agencies for statutory reports. The person answering at the FCA didn't know what statutory reports were and said they can't get involved in individual cases. I have just complained about the FCA as well - so let's see.
Initially dubious but ultimately a great experience
I was very dubious when I got an email directing me to this site - it definitely felt like a scam, however, it was genuine and my experience was very positive! The upload process was very clear and efficient - all done within 4-5 minutes!
I have, however, advised O’Neil Patient - my conveyancer that they need to warn customers that this is their legitimate third party for collecting client information!
Terrible platform
Terrible platform. Rejects photos and evidence without an explanation why even though photos are clear and everything can be seen. Spent hours trying to get it to accept a driving licence. More like pot luck as the photo that actually got accepted was no better than the first dozen submitted.
Another automated process which has done nothing but waste peoples time
Automated checks of documents which fail without giving any reason or suggested remedy. Incredibly frustrating.
Even when granted access to bank account information they are unable to indentify payments even if it's in plain sight on bank statements.
Quite frankly the ammount of information given to this company "to verify your identity" is a fraudsters dream. I would suggest this has (or certainly will) cause more problems than it solves.
Scam
Scam. copyright identity and account theft. they show you the last page youve seen on a link and use the profile youve created. they need to be banned
The website kept feeezing and I am also…
The website kept feeezing and I am also not sure why they asked me to share my location? Why do I need to share my location to complete an AML check? No other AML check I have completed has asked me for that and it seems very intrusive and not needed?
Only took me about 3 minutes
Only took me about 3 minutes, I'd read reviews first and expected a nightmare, make sure flash on your phone is turned off. ID check was for Equifax credit agency
Crap, Scam, waste of time and money.
Bluffbet uses Hooyu as a step before you can make withdrawals. Hooyu then asks for documents and IDs that they will in the end reject for some reasons like "not clear, has missing information". Well, I have used a high end camera to capture photo of my legal ID and international passport, back to back with no missing information. But was rejected. It is a scam.
Who do they think THEY are
My son has tried all day to prove he's who he says he is. This was for fashionworld.co.uk.
Quite honestly, the way he's been made to feel today is disgraceful and he's still not managed to get this daft ID thing to work. Not worth the time and effort..
Shockingly bad company.
The worst experience ever
The worst experience ever - they just say " document rejected" without any explanation - have to guess what to try next. Will never use any company who use this rubbish service.
