Wow. A home away from home.
What an absolutely lovely place to stay! From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcome. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful, and there's something rather special about staying somewhere where people really do go out of their way to make you feel at home.
My room was spotlessly clean, warm and inviting, with all those thoughtful little touches that make such a difference...plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits, and a wonderfully comfortable bed that gave me some of the best nights' sleep I've had away from home in years.
The bathroom was equally immaculate, with some very nice toiletries and everything I could possibly need. It really felt as though the proprietors had taken the time to think about what makes a stay comfortable, rather than just simply ticking boxes.
And then there was breakfast. Plenty of choice, so if you fancy something light with cereal, toast and a nice cuppa to set you up for the day, it's all there. Everything I had was delicious!
But perhaps the nicest thing about this little Devon gem is the atmosphere. It's relaxed, welcoming and genuinely homely. In fact, I enjoyed myself so much that I ended up staying an extra night, simply because I wasn't quite ready to leave!
If you're looking for somewhere comfortable, friendly and full of character, I really can't recommend this place highly enough. It's a wonderful home away from home, a lovely little find, and one I'll certainly be returning to.
