Best decision we made
Best decision we made. Received a 40ft shipping container into the yard at the Wolli Creek Warehouse, and the process of unloading and storing was seamless. The warehouse staff in particular were super helpful, especially John and Emmanuel, and the team are always cheery and helpful with any little challenge that pops up. We found the simple ease of access to support equipment, pallets jacks, trolleys, dollies and forklift were the game changer. Will definitely deliver our next shipment to Holloways for our storage needs.

Moving with Holloway Removals was…
Moving with Holloway Removals was stressful and expensive. They charged $189/hour, and it took 7.5 hours to move our two-bedroom apartment just three blocks away.
The movers themselves were polite, punctual, and careful, but the pace was painfully slow. When I raised this with the operations manager, he blamed “walking from the loading dock to the apartment” for the long time to load the truck and said he even had a video of the walk—which he said was around 1.5 minutes. He insisted the job was done “right and within standard time” and implied the building conditions were not standard—what?? This is practically the norm for every fairly new building in Sydney with a loading dock.
At the final property, my husband had to help with unloading, which took 2.5 hours of the total 7.5 hours. Without his help, the bill would have been even higher.
If you are considering Holloway Removals, be aware that the hourly charging model can make the move quite expensive if the pace is slow. Larger companies like Allied usually provide clear upfront estimates of time and cost, which can help avoid surprises.
Breaks your things, then blames you
Very disappointing. Don't be me, don't hire Holloway.
Whilst the move was relatively painless and professional, they failed to safely move my washing machine, causing damage. Upon reporting this to them, they have insisted the damage was not caused by them (yet the machine worked before they moved it), and I'm out of pocket an additional $1269. They also plugged in my fridge immediately (which you're not meant to do) and it's started groaning (but I can live with that).
You hire a moving company for whitegoods and furniture that you can't fit in your car. If they can't move them without damaging them, then why are you paying them? If they won't make amends when they cause that damage, why bother hiring a bigger company that has insurance?
Be smart and don't hire Holloway. If there's a problem with their service you will be left having to replace the precious items you are paying for them to safely transport.
Appalling Experience
We had an absolutely appalling experience with Holloway Removals & Storage and I would strongly warn against anyone considering using them. Based on the other reviews on this platform, our experience does not appear to be unique.
During our move from the eastern beaches in Sydney to Queensland, the Holloway team’s negligence resulted in significant damage and loss to our belongings.
For example: The back of our three-month-old electric nursing chair (worth over $1,100) was left on the street in Sydney. This was not discovered until our belongings were being unpacked in Queensland.
A wool rug worth over $1,200 was completely destroyed due to improper packing.
A lamp set costing more than $900 was dropped and shattered.
In addition, our fridge was damaged, along with other items from our home.
This damage was the direct result of astonishingly poor handling and a complete lack of professional care.
Holloway has taken zero responsibility or accountability for what occurred. Throughout our dealings with them, the customer service representative has been dismissive and, at times, borderline aggressive in their handling of our claim. There has been no genuine contrition, no meaningful apology, and no indication that they accept the seriousness of the damage caused. The standard of customer service we have received has been absolutely appalling.
After weeks of emails, Holloway finally allowed us to submit a claim for the damage caused to our belongings. However, after submitting a claim for losses exceeding $5,000 (which was supported by photographs and purchase receipts), they responded with a total offer of just $656.81, relying on a so-called “depreciation” calculation.
They have attempted to characterise the destruction of multiple high-value items as “minor damage” (even though some of our belongings were left in Sydney or destroyed).
What is particularly concerning is that their response also included a request suggesting we consider revisiting or removing any negative reviews if we felt they had treated us fairly. To suggest that this offer represents “fair treatment” is actually offensive.
In good faith, we had deliberately held off posting any review while this claim was being assessed, expecting that we would be reasonably compensated for our loss. That expectation has clearly not been met. The combination of negligent handling of our belongings and an equally dismissive, unaccountable response afterward speaks volumes about this company’s standards.
We have rejected their offer and are now proceeding with formal complaints through the appropriate channels.
If you value your possessions — or even basic professionalism — I would strongly caution against trusting Holloway with your move. The risk is simply not worth it.
Holloway Packing and Removal
Holloway packers were superb. The two ladies were very pleasant, efficient, thorough and careful in their work.
Holloway removalists were excellent. The two men handled the collection of the boxes faultlessly. They were cheerful and courteous.
I thoroughly recommend Holloway, having had an excellent experience this time as I did seven years ago.

Overall it was good to use them
Overall it was good to use them. Initially materials delivery and packing team were a bit late from the agreed time, but after I alerted the team they came through during the actual move.
The material (boxes, wrapping paper etc) is great quality, the packers were very careful with our things and labelled well, and the removalists we had Leo and Luis were very professional and planned the load and unload very carefully and well.
They worked 11 hours on the day and were never frustrated or bothered - and managed to finish the job very well.
Highly recommend, their price is a bit high but for what you’re getting (peace of mind) it was worth it.
