Most beautiful village in Crete

The house is very pretty, clean, the swimming poll its gorgeous. Very quiet, enjoyed the silence and local people and amazing food. The host was very friendly and helpful. They leave you a nice hamper for the first day, with honey, milk, coffee and home made chocolate cake. Will be back again.

service decline for hots

I have been using this service to manage my apartment in the Algarve and, for a long time, it worked well. Unfortunately, the level of support has declined significantly. All communication now goes through an automated assistant on the website, which is polite but entirely ineffective. Tickets are confirmed as created, only for a follow-up the next day to reveal no record of them exists. The same issue occurs via email and WhatsApp — every channel redirects to the same automated flow with no real resolution.

This feels careless and falls well short of the professional standard I was previously accustomed to. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as the service has real potential and the change in quality is noticeable. Do not recommend for hosts!

A badly flawed payment system

I’m really happy with the property I’ve booked however, the payment process is fundamentally flawed. At the time of booking, I used a card to guarantee the reservation but wanted to change that card before payment date was due - that’s impossible, according to their chat-bot!

It’s quite insane that when guests make bookings months ahead of their travel that you can’t update payment details prior to payment due date. The only way I was able to do this was to freeze the card I’d originally intended to pay with (so that it was declined when Holidu tried the payment) then look out for their email saying the payment was unsuccessful and follow the link to make the payment with a new card (by the end of the day otherwise my booking would be cancelled!).

What a clumsy and ridiculous system. In Airbnb I can go in and pay whenever and however I want prior to the payment date, or update the card details for when payment is eventually due. This one shortfall in Holidu’s system would prevent me from using them again I’m afraid.

Misleading Payment System and Lack of Accountability

A booking was marked as failed on the platform, giving the clear impression that no payment had been processed. Despite this, the amount was later withdrawn from the user's account without proper confirmation or notification.

When the issue was reported, Holidu distanced itself from responsibility, stating that the booking and payment were handled by the provider. However, the problem originated from a technical failure or misleading behavior on Holidu’s platform, not a cancellation or user error. This falls outside the scope of a standard cancellation policy and raises serious concerns regarding transparency and user protection.

Attempts to escalate the issue were met with a refusal to engage further, despite valid legal grounds under consumer protection laws requiring clear consent and confirmation for online transactions.

To make matters worse, there was no clear path offered for the user to communicate directly with the provider while keeping Holidu involved for accountability. Overall, a very disappointing experience that suggests a lack of proper support when things go wrong.

Impossible to get in contact with the company. Horrible costumer service. Would not recommend anyone to stay at their properties.

Don't use Holidu

I booked a property in France through Holidu, the pictures of the property looked great, but when we arrived it was totally different, to get to the property we had to walk up an alleyway that was never mentioned in the property description. The property had a terrible odor, it really wasn't nice. We went into the shower room and you would not believe the mess, the toilet was BROWN it hadn't been cleaned in months, OMG it was awful, the shower area was horrible, the grouting was black, the silicone was black, I wouldn't have showered in it. I contacted the point of contact and told her, she came to the property and agreed with the condition. She turned out to be the housemaid, she said she could clean it again if I wanted. I told her that I couldn't stay in a house like this. She then called her manager and explained the situation and sent him pictures. He spoke to me and said I should contact Hoildu direct and inform them that the property was not as advertised and totally unacceptable, we booked into a hotel that afternoon at our cost. Holidu asked for a copy of the hotel invoice, nothing else was offered to help. I sent several emails explaining everything but I didn't have any pictures of proof of how bad it was, so they couldn't do anything, they told me they will contact the owner and he wouldn't give us a refund or an offer of any kind. Holidu then offered me 10% refund as an act of good will. Which was totally unacceptable. I informed them that I was considering taking legal action against Holidu and the owner and that I required the owners full contact details so my solicitor can communicate with him. Holidu would only give me a concierge email and phone number. This would not be acceptable. I requested this several times, but that was all they would give me. Holidu kept informing me that they are just a booking service, I have a contract with Holidu. I will be taking legal action against Holidu. Please, please don't use Holidu, I won't.

I am the owner of a some properties …

I am the owner of a some properties advertised with Holidu and would like to express my concern regarding the handling of reviews.
I submitted a response to a review that I wanted to be published, but after a month, I have not yet received any feedback. Despite having sent the text for correction and publication, it has still not appeared online. I make it a point to respond to all reviews, whether positive or negative, to demonstrate my commitment to my guests. However, it is worrying that my response is not yet visible. Additionally, I am still waiting for a reply regarding the topic of 'reviews,' which has not been received. To be fair, I must acknowledge that their payments have always been regular. However, I am concerned about the delay in handling such minor issues. The prolonged wait for responses is becoming increasingly frustrating. I hope you can resolve this situation promptly and provide a more efficient service

Zero Response - Don't use them

We've booked a holiday home in Versailles through Holidu to watch the olympic games. We couldn't stay during our whole booking period because the house was not livable and we had to book another hotel to stay for the remaining days which was very stressful. We wrote to Holidu a few times asking for a refund but never got any replies from them. Their after sales and customer service is bad.

Insanely complicated.

I made a reservation from Booking.com,
Portugal, Algarve, property is operated by Holidu.

Communication is terrible.
They keep on sending "walls of text" about totally useless and absurd things like:
"For travels to German destinations, your host can issue guest cards that provide discounts for local shops and services." - Yes, that is what I need in Portugal.

After 8 messages (and I mean, they each answer is insanely long filled with nonsense) I still do not know where I get keys.

They recommended that I contact owner, outside of Booking by email. Owner told me to contact his sister in law. Then I got some French phone number that is not working. And no need to mention that here we go again with additional messages.

Let´s see if I get information where I get keys before or after 20 messages.
