The master cut is ideal for multiple same size cuts on thin material, model decking or balustrades for example. The master cut itself would be easier to use with some modifications. A packing washer to tighten the blade pivot arm see p1. Also a adjustable stop as in p2 and p3. With these modifications I have successfully cut over 500 decking boards for the Amati Robert. E. LEE. and I still have a lot more to do. For me the tool has been a useful purchase, it has saved a lot of time and effort.

Good little tool that I purchased at the time at a discounted price from the RRP which even with postage added worked out giving a slight saving on RRP. All plastic construction with brass attachments that hold both the blade in place and allow for the cutting action. Slightly smaller than I first thought it was albeit that said it’s fine and certainly does the job. Five double edged blades supplied in the box so that is a good addition in my opinion. Once set up it cuts great. I’ve used it on both wood planking and styrene and in both cases it cuts absolutely fine. Overall really pleased and good value considering its ease of use and flexibility - the angle of the cut can also be adjusted. Would just offer a word of warning….the blades as you’d expect are razor sharpe and as such you need to be careful when the cutter is in the raised position that you keep fingers clear.

Great for thin strips of timber eg deck planking. Thicker pieces of timber not so good as blade bends.

I would wish to have a single chamfered edged blade. I think it would have given a really square cut, after all the big brother guillotine has a single chamfered blade, both left and right hand. Tell me when this becomes available. I bought two of them so I could have a left and right hand device available to work with.
