2 month old cattery,rusty and collapsed,management viewed Wednesday,nz has severe weather warnings,no response since Wednesday,disgusting service workman ship,any damage to property will be taken to court on hireahubby would love to put a pic 📸 up.

Absolutely terrible the franchisee in the Mornington Peninsula. Came out to fix plasterwork and paint. He cut a hole in my ceiling and then left as he had a family emergency and hasn't returned now I have a hole in my ceiling and will engage a different company - DO NOT USE THESE GUYS. Just terrible

Hire a hubby Kilmore - I have been trying to contact Craig for long time and he ignores calls and messages . I have to constantly chase to get a response. He has done 3 jobs at my place and is good .but since then have been trying to contact him to come to do some more work , he has been very negligent and no communication.

Darren was a great communicator, he rang to let me know when he was coming. The quality of his work was excellent and overall a great experience!
I cannot wait for him to come back to do the list of jobs I have lined up for him

HaH tradesman who attended my home in Mt Gravatt can only be described as a scammer. Quote provided quickly and tradesman “talked the talk”. Subsequent issues with communication. Work completed was not to acceptable standard and he could not complete work in required time. Fitted a number of new doors but none are properly painted and two were improperly fitted.
Exterior door fitted so poorly it would not lock and tradesman took 7 weeks to return. Tried to scam again by claiming new lock he fitted was faulty and not covered by warranty.

Would not take responsibility for poor workmanship. Untidy and lazy worker who did not clean up when working and left paint on my floors and carpet. HaH management refuse to investigate complaint and defer to the franchisee.
Note this tradesman is qualified and has a clean record with QBCC.

Asked for a quote for repairs on our pergola following tornado damage in Werribee Melbourne. Dean came to take a look but was in and out very quickly. Promised a quote within 2 days - this was on 8th Dec 2025. Still waiting more than 3 weeks later. Would not use this company again.

Made a booking,the guy came out and had a look.Told me he would be sending a quote.Then totally ignored my messages and never heard from him again.Tried to message the original lady who made the booking only to receive automated messages that the message was unable to be received.She clearly had my phone number blocked as my other phone worked ok.Shady at best.

I hesitate to say how good this guy is because I want to keep using him without being delayed by huge demand - But Kurt was FANTASTIC - I very rarely in my life have hired guys to do things (except to build houses that I kept and rented out)as I did them all myself automotive, brick laying, electrical,concreting, gyprock etc - I used to own 9 rental houses which I worked on with the subbies in building - However I am now 86 with sever arthritis in my knees feet and hands bursitis in one shoulder - I regret that I cannot include photos to shoe how my garage was totally FULL with unidentified "stuff" piled 4 foot high - Kurt took 2 and 3/4 hours to clear it all (Iheld things up as I photoed the loading of each cart 4 times to later identify what was in each cart had it) loading it into 8 trolleys up to 3 foot height to ensure water run off and then covering each with 3 plastic tarps I preorded clamping each corner and moving them out - He also cut down and cut up a tree ,cleared a blocked drain and a few other jobs - I have never met a better subby and I have worked with quite a few

At first, Hire-a-Hubby looked promising, but the experience quickly turned disappointing. Requiring 25% upfront felt a little steep, but what really annoyed me was being asked for a progress payment on the very first day of work.

The bigger issue, though, was reliability—or rather, the lack of it. There were more cancellations than actual workdays, and not once did they complete a full day on site. Cancellations were often communicated with flimsy excuses hours after the fact, and sometimes with no notice at all. I lost count of the excuses—they seemed endless.

What’s worse, they wanted to move on to new jobs before even finishing mine. That lack of follow-through and accountability left me feeling like my project was never a priority. Now I have to find someone else to finish the job.

Overall, I would not recommend based on my experience. If reliability, consistency, and professionalism matter to you, run, run, run!

This is a review for the New Farm / Kelving Grove operator. Dear Lisa, when interacting with your customers - especially those whom you are letting down by cancelling their job 30 minutes before its Scheduled arrival time - have the decency to be more humble and do not necessarily "expect compliance and understanding" (to use your own words). At 2:30pm you call to tell me the handyman is stuck on his 2nd job because the 1st job has taken so long... And you can't understand why I am not thrilled, knowing you could have called earlier to avoid this disruption to my work day. Your manners were incredibly rude and clearly you have no customer service training. I feel sorry for that, but obviously that is your problem, not mine.

Review for Hire a Hubby – Leonard Herschel # Ferny Hills / Everton Park

Engaged hire a hubby Ferny/ Everton Park (Leonard Herschel) in November 2024 to fit custom hardwood batwing veranda doors ($3,300 value). Unfortunately, the job was mishandled in the following ways:
• Doors were fitted incorrectly – handle holes drilled in the wrong positions due to failure to use the provided templates.
• Initially blamed the supplied hardware, despite confirmation from the door manufacturer that all equipment was correct.
• Repeated promises to fix the issue were made over several months, but no action was ever taken.
• After many weeks and calls Leonard Herschel eventually agreed to replace the doors at his own cost, but has since become unresponsive and disengaged.
• Attempts to escalate the issue through Hire a Hubby National were met with unhelpful, dismissive responses – they have refused to intervene and the doors remain unusable
. It has also come to my attention that Leonard Herschel has his hire a hubby business up for sale.
• A formal complaint has been lodged with the QBCC, though resolution appears unlikely at this stage.

Disappointing experience both with Leonard Herschel and the broader Hire a Hubby network. Lack of accountability and professionalism throughout. I would not recommend hire a hubby to anyone.

Oamaru. After a few weeks he decided to turn up and said he would quote for the work and then never bothered to send a quote and when contacted blamed the timber supplier, the next builder had his price from the timber company and quoted the following week. From what i've heard we dodged a bullet, his work is terrible.

This organisation was used by Avio as part of MyAgedCare for my mother.
They problem is the outsource or subcontract everything and communication can be shambolic.
For gutter cleaning it was fine, but then when she tried to have carpet and windows cleaned it was so unprofessional and confusing, ending up wasting lots of time.

The job was ok but but not a lot of care taken and had to get the back. Runner not level. Main concern was the price. It was severely over quoted for the time and resources it took to do.

Nothing but scammers; even when they don't fix anything or they show up outside agreed time -they lie and try to charge you! when you catch them on camera they switch it to trying to charge you a call out fee!! When you report them and complain they make excuses then actively ignore your calls and email.

I had the pleasure of meeting Greg at my home in Hunters Hill NSW. He came to repair a bunk bed that had collapsed. Greg was professional, a master at his job, he fixed the bed with the correct materials ensuring the bed was extremely sturdy as new. Greg cleaned up after the work was completed & was ever so kind to place the mattresses back. I would highly recommend Greg, he is so polite & easy to talk to, explaining my options & providing me with a reasonable quote. Highly recommend.

Task not completed as per quote possibly due to substandard products being used

I am a property manager in New Zealand, and one of my tenants had an entranceway door that wouldn't close as it had buckled, and she was unable to secure the property. I phoned the nationwide 0800 Hire a Hubby number and stated it was urgent, however, I found out later that day, that they sent the franchisee in Invercargill the job instead of my city. I do understand that mistakes can happen. I phoned the 0800 number again to book another job and spoke to a man who was quite rude, and as it wasn't a clear line, I sought clarification, so I asked if they were doing the job later that day, and he said "no, that's not what I said" in a very firm and terse voice - I was quite taken aback by this. I phoned them again the next day and spoke to a lady called Nicky who was also rude to me, even though I was polite throughout our call, and she didn't want to take accountability for their company's error or send another person out to complete the urgent job, as she said that no one was available to do the job that day, and that "that's just the way it is"
Not very professional in my opinion and I won't be using them again.

I have used Arjun Singh's services a few times now for the odd job around the house. He is always respectful, very prompt and gets the job done very quickly and to a high standard. Nothing is the bother. Thanks very much, Arjun 🙏 see you next time

Awful experience - while the tradie who turned up -late - was nice enough and did an ok job - when I rang his boss to find out why he wasn't doing the 3 hours I had paid for I got an abusive aggressive shouting bloke who thought it was ok to yell at a woman who had employed them - "hire a 1950s hubby who thinks women should know their place "more like
