How this company uses Trustpilot
See how their reviews and ratings are sourced, scored, and moderated.
They are misleading with unlimted plan , right after we buy their package we can generate a video of only 8 minutes in a month which is terrible. I would not recommend anyone to buy from heygen.
On other side they will reply to this review with such below wording "Hey dear user, sorry to hear about how this experience was for you. If you can respond to the information request here we can reach out and dig deeper into this issue and see how we can help here."
But believe me they are again trying to scam new users so they will understand heygen is willing to help whereas customer quit without letting them to figure out the problem. So don't go on their such replies and save your hard earned money.
I regret, I should have read negative reviews earlier

They have ZERO CUSTOMER SUPPORT. I can't with these companies who wont assist the customers that make them a company. Their Ai pisses away months worth of tokens in minutes and there's no recourse. I have 11 versions of the same video.
This is a real review. I've had 3 different accounts with HeyGen starting in October 2025. It's never been great, but with the updated AI it's honestly worse. And sending an email to customer service is like saying you don't care.
Your suggestion was for me to spend more money. This isn't customer support - Also, maybe label your packages correctly as this seems to be a theme with your company. People purchase with the assumption they are getting something that they are not receiving.
Here's a real update from your team: Hello - I'm having an issue with my account. I upgraded to an unlimited account yesterday and within the first 30-minutes it said I hit my limit. I'm also frustrated as I have 7+ versions of the same video. Making revisions with your AI just burns tokens. Like an inferno. I'm expecting you to do the right thing as I'm sure your powers are limited, but I'm hoping you will. Speak soon - NC

Your Creator plan includes unlimited videos up to 30 minutes, but it also comes with 200 Generative Credits per month. These credits are used for premium features like Avatar IV (Photo 4.0).
Avatar IV uses 20 credits per minute, so with 200 credits you can create about 10 minutes of Avatar IV content per month. Making multiple versions of the same video would consume these credits quickly.
The good news: You can create truly unlimited videos by switching to Avatar III (Photo 3.0) instead. Here's how:
1. In the Studio, click on your avatar
2. Select the avatar engine dropdown
3. Choose Avatar III instead of Avatar IV
Avatar III is covered under your unlimited plan and won't consume any credits.
If you need more Avatar IV usage, you can purchase Generative Credit Packs ($15 for 300 credits = 15 minutes) or upgrade to the Pro plan which includes 2000 credits per month (100 minutes of Avatar IV).
Let me know if there's anything else I can help with!

Editing my reply.
Account was cancelled twice in a week! There used to be a message window but now it's gone so the only method of communication is by email and of course they are on a completely different time zone. So, it's not cheap, but it works reasonably well,. This evening, for the second time in a week, they have deactivated my account. They don't know why, I don't know why....so I'm now without something that I've paid £164 for a month.....if you are thinking of signing up, I'd double check there isn't something better elsewhere.
I have been refunded the money I paid but still no explanation as to why the account was cancelled.
I’ve been asked to add evidence of my account which I will now provide.

Clunky and slow. Signed up for a paid version, only to learn I needed more paid subscriptions to achieve what I wanted. Slimy as business model

CAN'T REACH CUSTOMER SUPPORT HUMANS EVEN WITH PAID PLAN! WHAT IS THE BS!

Misleading “Unlimited” Translation – Bait and Switch
HeyGen advertises “unlimited video translation” during the purchase process.
Based on this claim, I purchased a paid Creator subscription.
Immediately after payment, I discovered that my account was limited to only 200 credits.
This limitation was not clearly disclosed before purchase and directly contradicts the “unlimited” claim.
I have not translated a single video and have not used the service at all.
Despite this, my refund request has not been properly resolved.
This is misleading advertising and a classic bait-and-switch tactic.
I would not recommend this service unless their marketing becomes transparent and honest.

I think HeyGen is Run by AI totally. I maay be the last of the Mohicans but this business does not respond to customer complaints, customer inquiries, etc. I signed up for HeyGen for the 29.00/month program and quickly realized the software was created by Ai entireley and the little nuances you need to perfect your video costs more money. My first invoice was for $59.95 with no explanation of the additional charges. I have been gong back and forth with their AI bots for over 3 months trying to cancel the program and get my money back.
So, I tried to go in and cancel my account. My email has been deactivated. AI has already taken over and it is not customer friendly.

I had issues with the software since the day I subscribed. The customer service is terrible. They do not take time to understand the issue you have - they just respond with off target automated or canned suggestions. They were only too happy to get rid of me by refunding 1 month - HEY GEN - what about the other 6 months you did nothing but jerk me around and never seriously tried to resolve my issue?

After a platform update, a custom avatar that previously worked started rendering incorrectly. Support refused to acknowledge a platform issue, repeatedly pushed troubleshooting onto me, and had me regenerate and recreate assets until my credits were consumed. When I requested a refund, it was denied due to “excessive usage” — usage caused by following their own support instructions. The product looks polished, but when something breaks, accountability disappears and the cost is pushed onto the user. I would not rely on this platform for critical work.

The avatar creator is really bad in 2026 compared to what is in the market today. The voice, even when using elevenlabs sounds like a robot and does not sync. AI is moving fast, there is no reason to waste your time with a company that does not provide results today that have people saying "is that AI?"

fraud unlimited marketing is a big lie do not trust them at all they are Fraud stay away of these liars. the translation which is the most valuable and only thing that they have and people are buying it for, is not supporting unlimited videos. they even didn't mention it obviously in their page and this is the thing that can cost them a lot of money. we will sue them legally soon.
Instead of responding me qnd try to find me change your pricing plan page with full detail. You have mentioned nothing. And people are saying it.
You fix the pricing plan page more honest, I will change my review to 5 star

Update: Hygen reached out and made an honest, good‑faith attempt to fix my issues—points for effort. Turns out their LIMITED "Video Agent" is actually perfect for my needs. However, the UNLIMITED version sent me straight into a maze of buttons, menus, and mild existential confusion. The main hiccup? Their training videos appear to be from an earlier geological era. That said, I’m optimistic they’ll update them any minute now. Bottom line: I survived, I learned things, and I now confidently recommend Heygen.

Somehow my credit card was used by someone I do not know to subscribe to HeyGen. This was fraud. HeyGen refuses to give me all of the details regarding this person's identity, their email, phone number, address, and such so I can file a complaint with the authorities. HEYGEN would rather protect this fraudster than give up a membership.

My experience with Heygen has been underwhelming, particularly given the cost. I am spending roughly $1200 per annum and use the platform to create content for an eduTech environment, where quality and reliability matter.
The overall video quality is just OK. It may be sufficient for light or experimental use, but it falls short for professional or commercial grade content. We have not been able to generate any usable videos where the subject appears below shoulder length, as body movement looks unnatural and breaks immersion.
There is also a persistent technical issue that I have repeatedly reported. Edited videos often cannot be downloaded, with the system only allowing download of the previous version. This is frustrating and disruptive when working to deadlines.
Unfortunately, the wider AI video market still tends to underperform, and this product is no exception. At its current stage, Heygen does not feel ready for serious commercial use. I hope it improves, but for now, the value does not align with the price.

At first I had doubts about this platform’s reputation after reading some negative reviews. I subscribed and after a day I decided to cancel my subscription not because HeyGen was at fault, but because I am just not acquainted with Ai technology as a 73 years old retired pastor. Honestly, I was not expecting a response from this company. But just the following day after I sent them an email, I saw a reply from HeyGen’s Customer Support Team! It was from Sam of the customer support and her response was very cordial and accommodating contrary to what I expected! She was very kind to help me cancel my subscription to avoid any further charges to my card. They also processed refund due to my honest explanation regarding issues that I owned up.
Now, I will resubscribe to HeyGen and do my very best to get a grip of their awesome platform. What changed my mind? Excellent customer care and support plus of course the best platform ever in the market!

Clunky software.
They advertise one thing, but once you subscribe, nothing works as promised.
It took me days to generate a usable avatar video without lag.
The video either starts fast, glitches in the middle, and slows down at the end (same with voice) — or does the opposite — while burning through your credits.
Honestly, it’s crazy how bad the experience is.
