Hemingsways 4x4 carhire Zambia

Hemingsways 4x4 carhire, Livingstone

We hired in May 2024 (low season) a Toyota Hilux, mechanical a good car. High clearance and 6 good all terrain tires.

It was a 2013 Toyota Hilux 2.4 (full of dents). With a camping equipment from 2013.

Kitchenware is not suitable and not properly matched.
Double gas burner, nonsense!
Dishwashing rack and draining rack, nonsense!
Chairs are old and worn
Saggy mattrass
Refrigerator broke down after 2 days (no solution was offered).
Seatcovers dirty and old
Seatbelts worn out
Glovebox broken
Windshield washer broken

Rates are $195pd (low season) and $234pd (high season).
Transferrates $400 (Lusaka airport, because they are based in Livingstone.

They claim a fully comprehensive insurance, but they need a creditcard for a $2500 for damagecover. So not a fully comprehensive insurance.

Conclusion: Expensive for what they offer and what they deliver. Rent a car in SA and drive it into Zambia via Kazungula.
