Decided to sign up to hello fresh due to just moving house. The ease of not having to fit a supermarket trip in around the move and still receiving tasty healthy meals straight to my door really appealed to me. Ordering was quick and easy and I was looking forward to my delivery next day.
The delivery day came and I received a tracking email to state that the parcel was now at the courier depot and I will be emailed again with a delivery time slot - great stuff! I waited all day and was still yet to receive a time slot so at around 1800 I rang the hello fresh team, they answered swiftly but were unable to give me anymore information regarding the tracking and I was told just to wait as it could come up until 2100. I went to the supermarket to get a quick tea for tonight hoping the box would still arrive for the remainder of the week. At 2000 I finally received tracking information to say it would be delivered within the next hour - hooray!…20 minutes later an email to say the courier was unable to deliver the parcel - there was a diversion in place near my house which the driver clearly decided not to follow nor was I contacted by the driver as I could’ve very easily been able to collect from the driver or direct them on foot to my property. Having been informed by evri that my parcel would now be returned to sender I contacted hello fresh again. The team were unable to help and said I would have to wait until tomorrow when the tracking on their side had been updated.
I was contacted the next day via email apologising that the box couldn’t be delivered so rang the helpline again. I was informed that I would be refunded and credited £10 by way of apology, I asked if the box could be dispatched asap (wasn’t fussed if the meals I’d chosen were unavailable but just wanted a box so I didn’t have to go to the supermarket) was told I would now have to wait 5 days until the next delivery - completely spoiling my whole experience as a new customer wanting to make the most of the easy process as advertised during my stressful house move.
I resorted to using a competitor company who offered next day delivery and delivered swiftly using a reputable courier service.
I will await my next box to use up my credits but so far my experience with hello fresh has left a lot to be desired.

Delivery was cancelled on the day of the delivery with no other day offered for that week. Due to commitments that day, left me with no time to organise food for dinner that day. Very disappointing.

First week, our delivery was missing the key ingredient of the dish, complained and got £5 credit! To buy the missing meat for a family of 4 cost more than this! Second week our box didn't turn up at all. Supposed to turn up Fri evening but didn't, then got a message Saturday saying it would be late, but still no delivery, and just got a message saying it's not getting delivered at all and we'll get a refund for it. This is not good enough! Very poor service. Really disappointed.

There is always plenty to choose from, and auto selections help when I forget. Choices are easy to navigate through on the app. Recipes are easy to follow and I get paper versions so quick reference for family to choose from. No problems with delivery, box is well packaged and quality great.
The portion size of rice / grains is more than we would eat, so I’ve learnt only to cook half. Would prefer to get double veg instead - swap by choice would be good. Also the calorie smart could be even better if less than 5% fat mince was used.

The convenience of this service is great. However, the vegetables in the boxes are often old and there simply aren’t enough of them in some meals. Additionally the range of vegetables is poor with green beans being in most meals. Additionally the fish portions are woeful. There is often only enough fish for 3or4 mouthfuls and that’s it.

But this missing ingredients is why I cancelled my subscription last time .

Meals delivered well packaged and within stated timescales. Preparation is easy and introduces a whole different world of tastes and flavours without the hassle of shopping for all the different ingredients.

I had to go away unexpectedly for a family emergency. Requested a change of delivery day and was ignored. Then when the order came there were missing items. Very poor service hello fresh!

I enjoy all the different meals.
It's expanded my palate.
It's quick and easy.
However, occasionally I have had ingredients missing or the recipe card hasn't been included.
I can go online for the recipe, but missing ingredients can be a problem.

I find the meals great. Occasionally their is an issue with used by dates. The delivery service that is used in our local area is poor. The customer service team are however excellent.

Out of my trial of 4 orders, only 1 was put in my home, 2 were soiled and soggy and warm, one order I had not made, only one out of them all managed to remember to contain a pudding, one box forgot to contain the basa which was a main menu recipe. I did call twice and received £10 off next order when box was soiled and reimbursed when last box was not my order but overall I was not satisfied as every week something was wrong or missing. I have decided this is not for me at this time.

I found the meals easy to prepare and we really enjoyed all the variety of meals to choose from. The recipes which came with food was most helpful, too.

Menu choices and portion sizes are really good. The only thing I don’t like is it selects your menu if you forget but doesn’t look at past choices. I had 4 noodle dishes in a week before

It’s great that food appears to have a greater shelf life than previously, I sometimes get a bit bored with some of the meals as the quick meals tend to be the same.
