Gorgeous solid pieces
Bought our sideboard, TV unit and side tables from Heartland Interiors back in 2014. They are all beautifully made and are really solid pieces of furniture. They still look like new. I was about to buy something else from them in 2021 but think they’ve folded :(
Poor Service
Hardly surprised they went into administration. My order was so late, I had to cancel it after a 2 month wait, They then said it was next in line for construction and offered me a delivery date which I could not meet. They offered a delivery date a month later, making it over 3 months for my cabinet to be made and delivered - they claimed a 4-6 week delivery.
Sad times???
Sad times???? Seriously some of you need to get a life the furniture was poorly designed the bookcase I purchased has collapsed the pins which hold up the shelves are insufficient and Buckle under the weight I cannot get hold of them because they've scammed me out of money for an incompetent piece of furniture that is substandard. so those of you who are mourning the loss of such a wonder you seriously need to get a life
Talented Company No More...
Unfortunately, I am a late learner of this saddest news, as only found out today this company is no more in business and has now gone under...I purchased a wonderful oak/wood white bookcase earlier this year and although it did take some time to get delivered, I was so pleased with the craftsmanship of the bookcase and price, I decided to order a bespoke version of bookcase similar to that already ordered and received to place on my landing, however, as all on this site now know this will not happen as on chasing up company today to follow-up on delivery date, I couldn't access my online account with company, get access to their website and more importantly all calls were going straight to voice-mail. Should have realized when I had to chase-up non-receipt of purchase receipt copy that was a red flag but as the previous service was ok I didn't feel the need for any real concern just a talented company on great demand of their product and needing support from their customers in giving them the time & space to deliver well-made furniture at a competitive price. Another good company bites the dust such a shame but unfortunately, I fear there are more to come or shall I say go within the forthcoming years! Goodbye Heartland Interiors it is was nice knowing you and having had experience of appreciating one of your well-made pieces of furniture and hope I can get my monies already paid back from CC company which I logged a dispute with today...
Another example of not only best in class but set the precedence for everyone else to follow. Gone! Truly sad times we live in
Tremendously saddened they have gone in to administration. I have placed several orders in the past. Delivery talk almost 2 months but David, the director made it clear in the e-mail exchanges I had before placing the order. I even bought an antique wardrobe and living room dresser well over a hundred years old that are incredible and bought a couple more units besides. I was prepared to pay 7k more having already spent closed to 4K already in 6 months.
Their work and craftsmanship was like fine art. Unmatched by any other company. The solid oak was expensive as solid oak is everywhere though other competitors vary wildly but they were a price worth paying and sometimes cheaper than the competition but were far better quality, craftsmanship as well as support, always . The price wasn’t as though they charged 5k for a dresser but more than a few hundred for many things with solid oak costing a fair bit more but truly worth it. They were just not MDF crap or Ikea that people strangely love. This company truly delivered the goods. Another great demise in the 21st century world. You have been ripped off if nothing delivered since administration. I do struggle to understand that part but credit card companies are legally required to reemburse you. As with fraud in general. Somehow, banks get away with denying claims.
Beforehand. They offered the sort of service John Lewis or Harrods can’t compete with. All of whom have seen me send many thousands in (and still do).
Truly saddened to lose this company. David worked hard and he was honest. I can’t tell you how much it saddens me as a twice-customer in the last year to learn of their demise. A grossly unfair world just as DFS bought out MultiYork. Like everything these last 30 years. These companies defined quality to only be bought out by trash or in some cases are sent out of business. It is horrific.
Another bad story
Another bad story. Ordered a piece of furniture in April, rang June to be told delivery would be Mon 16th July. Found out via this site company has gone into liquidation. Rang company but no answer. Luckily paid by credit card and have already rang the bank. Fairly simple process with the bank (gave details of order and situation) and will get money back in full.
Another disappointed customer
Another disappointed customer
I was looking forward to getting my 2 bookcases and was quite happy to wait (aka be strung along) for weeks on end promising a delivery sometime in July... So pleased I didn't use my debit card; let's hope Sainsbury's credit card do the right thing and refund the money asap.
Always pay by Credit Card!
We have been contacted by the liquidators by Email yesterday that Heartland had gone into administration. We visited the company in early May and didn't see anything to concern us, so proceeded with an order.
Fortunately paid by CC so hopefully will get our £1100 deposit on two oak dressers back eventually.
Suggest Heartland customers who are owned money and paid by card look at Money Saving Expert website about Section 75 refunds
It's a great pity that they have gone as they did seem to provide a bespoke joinery products at reasonable prices. Shame for the staff involved.
Having previously bought furniture from…
Having previously bought furniture from them and been happy with the quality, I placed an order back in April for a bespoke desk & filling cabinet which has not arrived. At the time my card was declined due to the automated fraud detection (should have taken the hint!) so payed by bank transfer instead.
Spoken to the bank this morning, they are unable to help with getting the money back so looks like I'm over £1000 out of pocket.
Very disappointed, was looking forward to a bookcase that would fit perfectly in a space
I have too only found out today placed my order at the start of May for a bookcase, which I having received I paid by direct debit, I had no real responses from them previously when asking for an update. Until email saying there in liquidation. I have contacted the bank and waiting fora response. I hope I get the moneyback
Ceased trading but still contacting customers to pretend....
Hopefully it is now impossible to order anything from these people. They emailed me on 11th June to say they were fast tracking my order. Today, 25th June I received the email to say they were beginning liquidation proceedings and that they ceased trading on the 14th. So was that a lie on the 11th?
I am so glad I insisted my elderly mother pay by credit card. Santander are on the case.
oh my goodness i was horrified to see…
oh my goodness i was horrified to see that their website had gone and then these reviews. We had a huge bookcase and shelving on order which should have been delivered two weeks ago. We are £2700 out of pocket. I contacted the administrators as suggested and are waiting to see if our product was in any way built, in that we ordered it in mid April. Judging by other comments, i suspect we wont be lucky. I should have heeded other responses before ordering this, but the price was right. Basically, if something looks too good to be true for the money, it probably is. Lesson learned.
Absolutely devastated
Absolutely devastated to learn heartlands have gone under. Thought I had done my homework checked them out in person drove to Driffield saw the place and people who worked there ordered a bespoke wall unit dresser handed over 1/2 the money and waited still waiting 😟only to find all these people also in same predicament. They tried to get me to pay the other half a few weeks later alarm bells should have gone off then. Don’t know how they sleep at night taking orders and hard earned money from people when they know they are going under should be done for fraud. Just hope I can get my money returned by credit card co. I let all my other furniture go so in a right mess thanks heartlands so sorry for the good staff you had shame on you.
Absolute shocking company
Absolute shocking company, placed order 25th March had no correspondence for 8 weeks and emailed them numerous times before I finally got a reply, was told I would receive my furniture week commencing 25th June! Then today (25th June!) I read the company has been liquidated, the company controlling their assets told me the staff were told on 15th they were finished. Now like many others am trying to get money back, paid by PayPal so hoping I will get my money back! Awaiting an email from the solicitors as proof of the liquidation to show bank and PayPal. At one time they were probably a good company but it seems a lot of people didn’t get their orders when I placed mine, the solicitor said they were running 12 weeks behind, funny they never told me that! Disgusted!
I'm another unlucky customer
I'm another unlucky customer, ordered 2 bespoke radiator covers with bookshelves above costing almost £1500. Placed order beginning of March, told delivery w/c 18th June, then nothing.
I did as much investigating as I could and emailed Bridgestones, this was passed on to Peter Davies and Sons who are the company dealing with assets, etc. I requested a collection of my order, but was told that unfortunately it was not completed and I should take the matter up with my card company, I had paid by debit card.
This has been such a stressful time I'm sure for all of us victims of Heartland Interiors, who have shown no thought to it's customers.
In receivership
Thanks for the info of the insolvency practitioners (Bridgestones, Oldham). Have left a message on their answering service - they say they are receiving a high volume of calls. Awaiting a call back.
Frankly I’m not surprised given their atrocious customer service over the past few decades that I’ve been waiting for my furniture. Think they were waiting for the trees to grow.
Even more livid now having read others'…
Hope everyone who is without their orders paid by credit card and gets reimbursed that way.
Even more angry now having read others' experiences which match mine. An order of over £1000 placed at the beginning of March and heard nothing once the 40 working days were up. I rang and was told my wardrobe and bookcases were due to be delivered week beginning mid June. The girl said she'd look into seeing if they might arrive earlier and would ring back. Stayed in all afternoon waiting. No call. Then found an email stating 8th June. Received a call on 8th June from driver to say delivery would be Saturday morning instead. Received my furniture from two lovely drivers who apologised for the long delay. Feel sorry for them -they'll be out of work now.
Reading below, feel lucky I didn't lose £1000 having also been given that18th June delivery nonsense originally. What angered me most of all was all the self congratulatory ************ on their website about never receiving visits from Trading standards, disputes sorted out amicably etc.. Reading responses to other customers' complaints on here tells a different story. At least I've got my bookcases and wardrobe.

Thanks so much for taking the trouble your info.xx
How disgusting that it seems we can only share via this site.
Good luck to everybody with their claims.
I ordered via Amazon and was relieved that that they have taken over responsibility under their A-Z Guarantee policy. Wasn't sure that they would play ball as it was a Marketplace seller but full marks to them .
Contacted them when delivery 16/6/18 didn,t happen (see review 17/6) just to check what would be open to me if fears were realised but I had an immediate personalised and sympathetic response that this is being investigated followed by as rapid confirmations of them taking up claim/refund procedures ( Mind you don't know the outcome yet!!! They've said by 1st.July ) .
Feel very sad and empathise with those of you that ,like me , ummed an aahed about the price but then thought you only live once .You want it - go for it.
Update 21/6/18 - Amazon have rejected claim. No reason given. Am trying to get one.
We ordered bookcases in January 2018…
We ordered bookcases in January 2018 which were delivered twice in unacceptable condition and taken back. They were due to be delivered again to us on Friday 15th the day after they went into receivership.
They weren't answering the phone or email and we took a chance and visited yesterday with our proof of payment and a van and managed to collect them. The receivers were there (from Oldham mentioned in an earlier comment) and some Heartland staff who located our order They admitted they weren't answering the phone. It was a long journey for us but worth it as we knew our goods were paid for and ready.
