I order BTE hearing aides. Within 10 days of my final fitting by an excellent audiologist, I wanted to return the hearing aids for refund because they did not work in a noise situation ie noisy restaurant. I paid full amount $3,975 with credit card. I asked to return them but received no communication on where to and how to. They refused to refund money because I was over 45 days since first online visit with audiologist not the last fitting. I initiated a credit card challenge. Hear.com finally responded to the credit card company with a 33 page agreement of fine print which I signed on line on their 16-inch laptop computer from their Finance & Account Auditor. He stated in his letter that I could "contest the return period term and have a Code Red Case opened for review of this account." I agreed to that but did not hear anything. I am currently working with the credit card company (who have been excellent). My friend who has the same hearing aids paid by installment versus full price. I wish I had done that. I still have not heard from anyone re "Code Red Case". I paid USPS $78 to return the hearing aides to the Finance and Account Auditor with insurance and signature. Overall they have a good base support with AI generated response and support personnel but once you need interaction above them it does not seem to be there.
Right now they have the hearing aids and my $3975.

I just filed a complaint with the Florida BBB. It is interesting that a number of others have experienced refund problems with hear.com.

Would suggest that you visit BBB Florida website to read complaints regarding hear.com. It is interesting that a number of people had issues with customer support after buying hearing aids.
121 complaints in last 3 years. 64 complaints closed.
Some were just about texts but look at some of the 2025 complaints, you see a repetitive complaint and reply.

Hear.com: As stated in the Purchase and Delivery Receipt you signed at the time of purchase:
“I, the buyer, may request a full refund within 45 calendar days of delivery of the original hearing aids. Refund requests should be made by contacting hear.com and returning the hearing aids to the service office within the specified time.”
TK Reply-I cannot find the above words in the contract I received through Capital One from Mr. Eldridge at hear.com. What I do find in the printed contract is the following:
3) This assistive device is warranted to be specifically fit for the particular needs of you, the buyer. If the device is not specifically fit for your particular needs, it may be returned to the seller(hear.com) within 45 days of the date of the actual receipt by our or completion of fitting by the seller, whichever occurs later. This warranty does not affect the protections and remedies you may have under other laws.
I tried to return the hearing aids through email communication on day 28 from my final fitting with hear.com’s audiologist.
Hear.com:
A statement expressing potential intent to return at a later date does not constitute a formal return request under this policy. In addition, authorized returns are issued with specific instructions and a UPS return label to ensure proper tracking and intake. These steps were not completed within the trial period.
TK Reply -Why didn’t hear.com communicate with me regarding a return? No where in my documents from Mr. Eldridge does it say how or where to send hearing aids back. In fact when you do the fitting with audiologist you use equipment sent with hearing aids. The package included a mailing label to return this equipment.
Final Note:
I am not the only person who has had a money refund situation with hear.com. As mentioned before review Better Business Bureau complaints section. Also the 1-2 star reviews on Trust Pilot and other review sites.
It is a $3,975 purchase. Beware!

Very competent and classy service. I was impressed with quality of the Kit that was sent to help with the initial exam. The audiologist that worked with me was kind and patient with me. I never felt pressured to buy. Finally, it was so nice to able to easily contact and talk to a live person. Now that I have purchased hearing aids the online help is provided by alive individuals without going through endless seeming phone trees and incompetent ai.

I was skeptical at first. Usually, online promotions never live up to their hype. Not in this case. These hearing aids work better than any I have tried. I haven't heard this well in decades. In addition, each member of the staff was terrific to deal with. I have already recommended them to my brother-in-law.

I took notes during my hearing aid setup with Dr. Brex and he recommended a patient adjustment after a month or two. Instead, they sent an incomplete kit and refused to make a settings adjustment, telling me the 'adjustment' was only for repairs. I was mislead, emails, phone complaints and texts went unanswered. And judging from comments from others, I won't be surprised when they claim that they 'can't find' any record of my complaints.

When I first received my aids, I was amazed at how clear the sound was. I understood the people around me and was able to hear the TV without having to have volume turned up 15 more clips. My other aids were the kind that has a wire from the device behind my ear, so it has taken me some time to get used to having my entire ear plugged. You do get used to it though.
