I've heard a lot about headspace and it sponsoring certain youtubers etc, so when my work offered a free membership, I signed up. The meditations were all very strange, not particularly relaxing or me... See more

Auto-renewal trap
Automatically sign you up for auto-renewal and refuse to refund fees even if you cancel on the day of renewal.
Headspace Stealth Fees
BE CAREFUL. Once your trial period is over they will continue taking the subscription out of your account by stealth, i.e. without any prior warning or communication, until further notice, even if you are not using the service. I have been quietly charged £150 over the last three years despite not using them since 2021. I would NOT RECOMMEND HEADSPACE for this reason. Although legally acceptable, in my opinion they should at least send you an email to remind you that they will be taking a subscription fee from your bank account.
Atrocious cancellation policies.
Signed up for Headspace with a yearly subscription, took note of the terms of use being "cancel anytime". After finding the app too attention-grabby and their colab with Disney and other less than noble francises, I wanted to cancel. Contacted helpesk, was told to do this on the Headspace platform, (PC) but it wasn't possible under subscription. Contacted again and they left me without responing for 3 months. "Sorry to keep you waiting" was the automated message in November 2023. Only after uploading screenshots of the page they directed me to, the platform - so they could SEE cancelling isn't possible, - also attatched my emails to their help center - did they cancel on the day. Oh like it was no problem. Some of the responses from the team were downright rude with resposes like "looking into your mess", misspelling my name and so on. And then: they tried to blame me, my email-adress,my bank- anything except taking responsibility, kind, and making less stress - ah - for users who came to them for mindfulness, and ended up with the stress of not being able to get away from this company.
When I first used this back years ago…
When I first used this back years ago the app was organised and easy to navigate. Furthermore, Andy's voice was so calming. Now, it's hard to navigate and very disorganised. Has Headspace been bought out? Most videos are now narrated by Americans now and there isn't the option to switch back to British. Might seem minor but it makes a lot of difference
They steal your money
Don’t use free trials - it’s impossible to get out without being charged for an annual subscription. They also charge you before your free trial is over. The app is not good with your mental health - ironic right?
Company is complete scam
Company is complete scam. Sign up for a free two weeks then are charged a year without offer of refund from anywhere or anyone. They are just scammers that have half an idea what they're doing. 0* do not spend your money here.
The App Is Very Disorganized
The app is very disorganized. All my readings, videos, etc that I had worked on the previous day, would disappear the next. I only wanted to concentrate on sleeping, however they would bombard me with all kinds of other things I was not interested in. I requested my money back however they ignored me. They lack of customer service also, how frustrating.
BEWARE THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY!
Beware of this fraudster company that says they will give you a 14 days free trial before charging you for a whole year subscription!! I made the mistake of clicking thinking I could try the app before they charge me but NO THEY CHARGED ~$100 ME RIGHT AWAY and they/Apple won’t give me my money back!!! WHAT A SCAM!!!
Shocking customer service, avoid
If I could give 0 stars, I would. Similarly to others, I had issues with billing and cancelling my membership and was met with incredibly unhelpful customer support. I initially received a quick response from someone who had obviously not read my query as the response was completely irrelevant. Since then, I have been waiting for a month for another response. They were contacted on January 6th, well before my renewal date, and I have since been charged £50 for a membership I don’t want. Almost 7 weeks and multiple unresponded to emails later, I am shocked at how appalling the customer service is for a wellness app.
Avoid!! They only care about money not you!…
Set to not renew my annual membership as I couldn't afford it this year. Every year since 2019 I have received a renewal notice in November but nothing in 2023 as expected! Then they charged me anyway and refuse to refund the £49.99!! Nothing fluffy and fuzzy about Headspace! As money grabbing as others! Would have gone back but will not do so now as I don't trust them.
Leider kann man nicht null Sterne…
Unfortunately you can't give zero stars. I am super disappointed with this company. I downloaded the APP from the Google Play Store because I received a recommendation. The 14-day test period was only possible if you provided your credit card number. I should have woken up by then. I looked at the app once and immediately decided it was nonsense. Unfortunately, I didn't know that a subscription was taken out straight away and that it automatically converts into an annual subscription after 14 days. Without warning.
After 14 days on time, the credit card was charged almost 60 euros. USURY. Just stay away from companies like this.
Far to americanised now
Have used Headspace for a long time but since its takeover it has become very americanised. A general sense that those now in control have no commitment to its original principles,
Dreadful customer service
They took the money for a subscription but I haven't received the link to start using it. I have sent 2 enquiries chasing up the problem but haven't received a reply. Dreadful customer service.
Sneaky little bast.. they just want your money.
You have to go online to cancel your subscription.. can`t do it in the app. Peoblem, my online account has my normal e-mail, so I did cancel that... but in the app my e-mail is. gks4xpjvwz(at)privaterelay(dot)appleid(dot) com - I do not even know where that could have come from. Got charged in Novebmer and didn`t see it. Can`t use that mess of an e-mail to sign in and cancel. Their billing practices are a total scam. Run the other way from these thieves.
Don't bother. Trying to upgrade from standard plan to…
Trying to upgrade from standard plan to a more expensive family plan seems to be impossible. Good app but like so many other reviews, the Headspace team let themselves down badly by having a customer service team that is completely ineffective.
Tried free trial and they billed me me…
Tried free trial and they billed me me and now only say they have backlog for a month now! Avoid they are scammers with appalling customer service. Many others here have same story. PayPal no help with them either!
Scam and runs away with your money!
DO NOT enter your credit card details. They will charge you regardless if you cancelled trial or not and ignores your attempts to contact them.
Don’t need to try, just use the bigger and better alternative and save yourself from sour taste especially during holidays.
BEWARE
BEWARE. After subscribing to the free trail, they ended up charging me for the annual subscription unknowingly AFTER I had canceled the free one. I ended up having to cancel twice. I was charged $89.99. They have not responded to ANY of my emails.
I have never signed up with this…
I have never signed up with this company. Some how my Visa card has been billed. I try to call them only an answering machine left message many times no call back. What kind of good business would not call you back. If I accidentally signed up it doesn’t explain the no call back and not even a email back because I have left them messages that way as well.Do not believe any good reviews! I will take this down if the company calls me or email me back
Money Illegally Taken.
I cancelled my account Dec last year and spoke it through with them. After a year of not using the app and no contact they have proceeded to take £50.00 out of my bank account. They are now not answering my emails.
Really good for mental health having £50.00 taken from no where, in a cost of living crisis and this close to Christmas.
