Purchased a Vauxhall Insignia from this Garage. Went to pick it up and they had put the wrong day in their calendar. It was therefore not prepped, the seat handle had not been replaced like I had requested and upon getting it home it was clear it did not have the rear washer jet. A small omission I perhaps should have spotted before but was certainly not made known to me by the garage. The more major problem is that I then had an engine light come on the dashboard less than a week in to my ownership. Phoned them up and they did to be fair to them agree to take a look and potentially repair it. I brought it back to them and was told it was an emissions issue perhaps down to a sensor being dirty and this can often be the case when cars have sat around on a forecourt for a while and it will most likely clear up. They cleared the engine codes and off I went. At the time I made the manager/owner aware that we were moving 200 miles away in the next few days and would not be able to return without significant inconvenience. Fast forward a couple of weeks later the warning light reappears. I am now 200 miles away so do the sensible thing and take it to a different garage closer to home who try and provide a fix. Alas this does not work so we phone Haverhill again, they insist that the warranty has now been voided which it may have been either way its irrelevant as they have supplied me a car that is not of satisfactory quality and yet they offer no option but for me to drive all the way back down 200 miles and they'll take a look insisting that "they have nothing against me but it is our fault for buying a car and then moving home". Having sought advice, I am currently in the formal complaints process with them and waiting for a reply, I am hoping this is dealt with by the manager/owner I spoke to when I revisited with the engine light problem initially as he was reasonable and seemed to genuinely care about his business/customers. Should they offer to repair/replace or refund me I will overall be left quite happy with their service and will adjust this review as such. Bad cars happen and I am no stranger to that so I don't think these are bad people perhaps just bad luck and a bit of poor communication. I know they reply to reviews so will be interested to see what they reply to this. Either way once this is resolved I will edit the review to reflect their actions.

UPDATE:

This situation developed quite nicely after this review. The man I spoke to before called John phoned me and after some discussion about the specifics they agreed to pay for it to be taken to a garage located locally to me. They paid for it to be diagnosed again by this garage who determined it was a problem with the cat and that the cat and the sensors previously mentioned would need replacing. Haverhill agreed to pay for this and the work was carried out. Since then we have had 0 problems with the car and the engine warning light has not reappeared.

Whilst it is disappointing that the car was ever sold in the state it was these things do happen and thanks to John it is now fixed. I couldn't be happier with the conversations I have had with him and the solutions he offered. I'd recommend talking to him if you do consider Haverhill. Overall they have good prices on cars and their sale process is quick and easy they let you test drive it how you like and rest assured they will take care of any issues if and when they arise.

The service from Haverill car xchange was excellent from the time we see the car until delivery. The guys there were very friendly and helpful.
Josh the salesman was informative and told us everything we needed to know about the car and there was no pressure to buy.
We took the car for a test drive and decided to purchase it, everything went very smoothly, and my beautiful car was delivered to me by Gary at the beginning of March it was in immaculate condition with all its paperwork and a new MOT.
I would highly recommend Haverhill car xchange and would certainly use them again...

A great range of cars. No hard sell on finance or warranty. All the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Had a slight hiccup when collecting my new car, but this was rectified within 24 hours at my convenience. All round good experience. Highly recommended if looking for a new used car.

They where very helpful and clear in the whole process, the car is second hand but looks great so the images on the AA sales site matched exactly with the car bought. I dealt with Josh and also talked to Paul (hope I got that right) both where friendly and helpful. The engineers I believe delivered the car I was told as I was not in at the time where polite and informative.

Initially a good experience, test drive was good. Car is lovely. Found out later that the car had failed its MOT. Arranged to collect car six days later. Told the day before we had arranged to collect it, it had failed again and I arranged to collect it two days later. Upon collection, everything was good, sales person was polite, explained everything and it went very smoothly.
