The website Hatstore Canada has nice…

The website Hatstore Canada has nice products and the ordering process went smoothly.

However, ⚠️ important to know: despite the name, the company is not actually based in Canada.

👉 As a result, I was charged unexpected customs and import fees upon delivery, which was disappointing.

More transparency about where items are shipped from would avoid this confusion

Ordered a hat and there was some…

Ordered a hat and there was some complications with me receiving it. Due to this I had a good amount of contact with customer service and in specific Aziz K. The customer service was fantastic and a model that other corporations should follow. Aziz K you know what you are doing!

hatstorecanada is not canadian, you will get huge import fees and have to fight for a refund, so sad!

If a delivery is refused due to customs charges, we will of course issue a refund according to our policy as soon as the parcel is returned to us.

Refund has not happened one month later

Like most commenting, thought this was a Canadian company, and after ordering was sent an email indicating duty fees of $48. The returns section of their website said you can refuse package as in "Under the Distance Contracts Act, you have 14 days to withdraw from your purchase.", which I did immediately, so the delivery driver took the package back. So I have contacted them 3 times since to inquire about my refund starting Dec 1 , as they would have likely recieved the hat now after a month. I can't get my refund for my duty charges until this is cleared up either. So basically out $150

It won't let me watch or track my…

It won't let me watch or track my package, it says it can't location my tracking number. It's been more then 48 hours, I am in Canada also

Terribly slow shipping speed from…

Terribly slow shipping speed from Sweden. Companies name is Hatstorecanada so anyone would assume it's a Canadian company.

I ordered 2 winter hats and had to pay an additional $40 in import fees.

This is considered a scam company

This is considered a scam company. Their website domain has the word “Canada” in it to make you think it’s a Canadian site and that the items are shipped from Canada. They make it intentionally very hard to find the actual shipping information on their website. As such, I will be charged a massive import fee and the shipping will prevent my receiving in time for an event.

I will be asking for a refund and if I don’t receive one, I will be submitting this as a fraudulent charge on my credit card and getting a refund that route. Do not buy from this European company. Dishonest.

I ordered from HatstoreCanada.com…

I ordered from HatstoreCanada.com assuming it was a Canadian store because of the name and prices in CAD. After paying $17 for shipping, UPS wanted another $38 in import fees on a $70 item — all because the order actually ships from Sweden.

Hatstore often replies saying this is “clearly listed on their site,” but that’s not accurate. The only mention is a small line about shipping from Sweden, which doesn’t say anything about customs duties, brokerage charges, or extra taxes that customers will owe at delivery. That’s not clear disclosure — it’s fine print.

Support offered a 10% refund “as goodwill,” but took no responsibility for how misleading the site looks to Canadian shoppers. If you order here, know that it’s not Canadian and you’ll likely pay unexpected UPS fees on top of your purchase.

EDIT: Thanks for the generic response. Unfortunately, it doesn’t reflect what actually happened. The import fees were nowhere near clearly stated, and pretending otherwise just confirms the issue: your checkout process isn’t transparent. Customers deserve clarity, not excuses. And to be honest, both the customer service I received and this public reply come off as condescending rather than helpful.

BEWARE FEES MASSIVE IMPORT AND RETURN…

BEWARE MASSIVE IMPORT AND RETURN FEES.NOT CANADIAN. If you look on their website; it does state that items are shipped from Sweden, so it’s my fault for assuming that a company with “Canada” in the name would at the very least have a Canadian warehouse. Nope. I had to pay an additional, insane $38 dollar customs fee on top of what was already paid. To make matters worse, the hat was the wrong size (it’s a medium and according to their chart it was supposed to large or one size fits all). It doesn’t fit at all. Now get this, to return the product you have to pay them another $20 shipping fee. Insane. So I ended up having to pay these guys $58 (38+20) in extra non-refundable fees for a hat that doesn’t even fit, just to try to get some of my money back. What a racket! I’m sure the rep will comment and respond about how their website clearly states they are in Sweden, which it does, but if they aren’t trying to scam people then why isn’t their company called hatstoredweden? Because they are trying to trick people! I looked and they have many websites like this for many different countries to try to trick people into thinking they are buying locally. Watch out!

The website is called…hatstorecanada.com

The website is called hatstorecanada.com and yet the hats come from a company in Sweden, which resulted in a $50 shipping/customs fee, that i did not find out about til after the order was processed. The representative claimed that they are transparent about being a Swedish-based business, and yet, they are selling products under a banner with canada in its domain title. This is quite simply an overtly deceptive method of advertising. If they were in fact transparent, they would change the name to hatstoresweden.

Zero Customer Service... Crickets

I took a chance on ordering from a hat store that wasn't American for my two year old son for our vacation together and regret my decision. I have been emailing and calling with zero reply and the same automated message. I have asked to cancel my order and refund my credit card and still crickets. I buy a lot of hats and will not be giving this company anymore of my hard earned money.

Not Canadian

Not a Canadian company. I thought I was ordering from a Canadian company that shipped locally and would be quick. Everything on their website on the surface makes it look like they are a Canadian company, but it turns out this company ships their product out of Sweden and it takes forever to get here.
