Company ruined my Job Application

This is one of the most unprofessional companies I have encountered.

I applied for a Customer Support position with 5CA and, as part of the recruitment process, I was required to complete an assessment hosted by Hallo AI. Unfortunately, I was ultimately rejected based on the results of that assessment, despite experiencing a significant technical issue on their platform.

During the assessment, I was required to complete a "Multi-Chat Support" simulation in which I had to assist two customers simultaneously through live chat. According to the instructions, I needed to search for each customer's name in the system to retrieve their account information before I could assist them. However, every time I entered either customer's name into the search bar, the platform displayed the error message: "No customer exists."

Without access to the customers' information, it was impossible to complete the task as instructed. A customer support representative cannot reasonably be expected to resolve a customer's issue without being able to access their account details.

Despite this clear technical malfunction, 5CA informed me that I had failed the Multi-Chat Support assessment. As a result, my application was rejected due to an issue with the assessment platform rather than my abilities or performance.

I contacted 5CA to explain the situation and made it clear that the assessment could not be completed because the platform failed to provide the required customer information. I also raised the issue with Hallo AI. Unfortunately, neither company addressed my concerns, and my emails were ignored.

It is extremely disappointing that a technical fault in the assessment platform directly affected my job application, yet neither company took responsibility or offered a fair opportunity to retake the assessment.

My response to the company :-
I DID write the name EXACTLY as it appeared, I AM NOT DUMB OR A LITTLE KID THAT I WOULD MAKE A SILLY MISTAKE IN WRITING A BASIC NAME. I verified the spelling, spacing, and the use of uppercase and lowercase letters when entering the customers' names. Those are the only relevant factors when searching for a customer's record, and I ensured they were entered correctly.

The entire assessment session was recorded, including my screen activity. The company can clearly review the recording and verify that I entered the customers' names correctly, yet the system still returned the error message stating that no customer existed. Despite having access to this evidence, they continue to deny that the issue originated from their assessment platform.

Based on the available evidence, it appears that the company is unwilling to acknowledge that a technical fault in its assessment system adversely affected my application, despite having a complete recording that could objectively verify what occurred.

I have an overall IELTS score of Band 8, along with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and a Master's degree in Information Systems from the United States. It is unreasonable to suggest that I was unable to enter a customer's name correctly.

Despite this, the company has continued to provide responses that fail to address the actual issue. Rather than investigating the technical problem, they have repeatedly dismissed my concerns without providing any meaningful explanation.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're sorry to hear that you found the assessment frustrating.

We investigated the assessment and did not identify a technical issue with the platform. For this particular simulation, the customer search requires the name to be entered exactly as provided, including any accents or special characters where applicable. This is intentional, as the exercise is designed to evaluate attention to detail in addition to customer support skills.

We understand that this may not have been clear during the assessment, and we'll review whether we can make the instructions more explicit to help prevent similar confusion in the future.

While hiring decisions are made by our client, we appreciate your feedback and will continue working to improve the candidate experience. We wish you the very best in your job search.
