Written by the company

Habari Adventures is a 100% local and fair company. We have the best camping logistics, the best guides and porters as well as a big variety of tours. We take care of your individual needs and wishes and provide the best quality to create an amazing time in Tanzania. The most important thing that differentiates us from other companies is - we pay the taxes in Tanzania and all the money we get from clients we use in our local community. We always participate in environmental conservation program by planting trees and coffee plants around the slopes of Kilimanjaro to control global warming. We clean the Kilimanjaro mountain and other parks in Tanzania by taking out the trashes and educate more on how to keep our natural heritage clean and safe. Secondly, we have our organization to support education and community, known as Habari foundation (https://habarifoundation.org/). The organization supports our local community and until now we are supporting 45 kids in both private and public schools with accommodation, school fees, building new classes and school materials. Actually the 5% of the profit from our clients goes to this organization. We always invite donors to support our community if they are willing to. We accept volunteers and donations, like clothes, money and school materials. As a local registered company our prices are fair and reasonable because we operate things local.

Xmas 2024 Summit with Habari

Don’t hesitate to choose Habari Adventures, a local Tanzanian company that expertly guided my husband and me to summit Mount Kilimanjaro on Christmas morning 2024. We undertook the 8-Day Lemosho Trail, and Habari delivered an exceptional experience, exceeding our expectations in every way.
A standout aspect of our journey was my husband’s unique challenge—he’s 59 years old and had sustained a knee injury three years ago, leaving him without an ACL in his right knee. From the start, the company owner, Stan, reassured us that this wouldn’t be a problem, and his team’s extensive experience would accommodate our needs. After meeting with our lead guides, Michael and Samson, during our first orientation, we felt confident, safe and ready to tackle the mountain.
The team’s camaraderie was evident, as the guides shared a wonderful rapport with the porters and worked tirelessly every day to ensure we were comfortable on the mountain. They took excellent care of us with daily health checkups, nutritious meals, and attentive service at camp. One of the highlights was Chef Remi, who baked us a special cake for our anniversary. The team even celebrated with us, singing and dancing—a truly unforgettable moment!
We are deeply grateful for everyone who made this journey so memorable. From Stan and Caroline in the office to our incredible guides, Michael and Samson, as well as our talented cook Remi and the entire crew—Lama, Emmanuel, Kenny, Mishak, Selvius, Lodison, Aloise, and AbdulJamal—thank you for making this adventure of a lifetime possible. “One team, one dream”.

9 Day Northern Circuit Route, 5 day Safari, 5 day Zanzíbar

On this past September a group of nine Costa Ricans embarked in a most amazing experience made possible by the Habari team. For the trek, we chose the nine days Northern Route for better acclimatization and for the beautiful landscapes that we could enjoyed all the way to the top of the mountain. I can’t express enough my gratitude for each and every one who accompanied us in this adventure; from Stan and his office staff who throughout a year help us accommodate our interests and organized the trip, to Leon, Jackson and Ray our supporting guides, as well as our excellent cook Thomas and his assistants, and the rest of the crew who made sure we were comfortable at the camps and throughout the trek. After the trekking, we went for a five day safari trip and continued our adventure visiting Zanzibar for five more days. Thanks to our guides Michael, Octavian and Gabriel who made sure we could see the Big 5 and experience the Maasai culture. All the organization was of our complete satisfaction, nice hotels, good and culturally diverse tours and excellent food. I recommend Habari Adventures one hundred percent! Thank you, Stan for making our dream come true!

Excellent service

I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro with Habari Adventure in June 2024 and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The service on the mountain was exceptional, including the food, equipment and organisation. Our guides were knowledgeable and kept us safe and healthy. The crew were thoughtful and attentive. I had a brilliant time.

In organising the trip, all my questions were answered promptly via email. I had been nervous about paying for the trek and safari via international bank transfer, but it was smooth and Habari acknowledged receipt of the funds really quickly.

A dream come true

My Kilimanjaro climb with Habari Adventure was nothing short of perfect from start to finish.

Communication prior/post booking was excellent. I had a lot of questions before and after booking but Stan and his office team were always quick to come back with a helpful response.

On arrival, a driver was waiting to take me to my hotel. The hotel booked was the Bru Bru Lodge which was wonderful! It's a small property in a quiet/upmarket part of Moshi. Rooms were clean and comfortable, the pool area was a great place to chill prior to your climb and the food was excellent and very reasonably priced. If you do want to head into town for shopping, a supermarket is just a short walk from the hotel for any last minute essentials/snacks.

A day before the climb, our guides Emmanual and Benson came to the hotel for a pre-climb briefing and gear check. They ensured we had everything we needed to climb safely and comfortably, as well as answer any questions we might have about the days ahead.

We ended up having a small group of just 5 guests, but a crew of 19! The crew are what make this trip possible. Everyone was friendly and filled with energy from start to finish. The porters are superhuman! You would leave them packing up camp each day for them to overtake you on the trail and have the next camp set up before you arrive. It was amazing!

As for the camps, we had everything we needed. The tents were good quality, sleeping bags were warm and sleeping mats supplied were very comfortable. The mess tent was big enough for us to stand up in and the dining chairs were comfortable with back supports. It was a great place to unwind at the end of each day with a hot drink and some snacks. The toilet tent (which is a must have, make sure you book it) was kept squeaky clean and we were supplied with hot water for washing every morning and evening (except Barafu camp due to the extremely long walk for the porters to collect water).

The food each day was delicious (thank you Jimmy and Pio). There is zero chance of you going hungry with these guys. We were woken up each morning and given a hot cup of tea or coffee (which at the colder camps was very welcome indeed). Breakfast was normally porridge, pancakes, eggs, sausages, beans, toast etc. Lunch and dinner would normally start with a soup, followed by a hearty main (one day we even had pizza!!) and then finish up with fresh fruits. Staying fueled is so important to ensure you have the energy for summit night. The delicious food made this very easy to do.

Drinking water is also provided daily and tasted excellent. On some days you are given snacks to enjoy on the trail (normally biscuits, cake, juice and nuts). They even carried hot ginger tea for us on summit night! The service provided was 5 star!

My 8 days with Habari Adventure is one I will remember forever. I’ll never forget the positivity and energy of the team, the strength and encouragement of our guides, the incredible scenery and the unbeatable feeling of standing on the roof of Africa. Thank you to all of the Habari team for making this dream of mine come true. I really hope I can trek with you all again, one day.
