This site is for people who have nothing better to do than waste your time!! They ask a million questions, make ridiculous offers or they don't show up after saying they would and having asked for your address!! But you put it on the Freebies section, and all of a sudden it fits in everyone's car and everyone's wants it!! Would rather give it to Charity!!!

Blocked my account with 5-star reviews for the reason of my ad breaking the rules. Sorry, but could you please make an effort and explain what’s the reason and what rule I have broken??? This can happen with everyone I would not trust them and continue advertising, they do not value their costumers, well, that’s how the business works - 1 star for you and +1 loyal customer of your competitors, bye bye!

Gumtree are dishonest. I paid my money to post an advert (motorbike sale) with all details correct, but the advert is non-searchable by any means even when all the right criteria (model, location, price, mileage, etc) are entered. Liars. Thieves. Really I can't believe this can happen!

Gumtree allows scamming companies to use its site and it's obviously they don't give a crap about it. I know of 2 companies who's scammed me are using Gumtree

Worst website ever was scammed gave over personal details for job offer had to report to hmrc and bank and had threatening messages after contacting advertiser

Posted an ad on here.Had an interested party asking if it was still available. There was literally not a single option to post a response. Impossible to contact a real person at Gumtree or email them. Probably lost my sale now. I'm fuming!

I tried to log in but the site said wrong password or email even though they are correct, no matter what I did it locked me out so I gave up and a seller lost a sale, bottom line is Gumtree is a CRAP sales site.

I am going to pull my ads and delete my account. Fed up of the 'Is this still available' messages and people who can leave bad ratings for me after I refuse their ludicrous offers.
More trouble than it's worth and no longer the useful site it was. Gumtree does not listen to constructive feedback.

Very bad customer service come collecting money without service thief I couldn’t see my advertise on their website but they already take the payment

Customer service non existent yet they have no shame taking money for posting ads they're removing straight away when you post them. No explanation, no breaking rules. You try to contact them with what seems to be available live chat that is actually not available ever.
The sad thing is I posted two different ads and both same situation. Thought I'd give them another chance but they don't deserve it. There's plenty other ad sides you can use with much better customer service out there.

Useless site. Pointless putting in any choices. 75 miles distance includes Mars and Jupiter.

Terrible customer service. They treat you so badly and rudely and just end the chat without saying bye. Managers should be looking at the staff they hire. Carmen A and Candice was extremely rude not trying to be sympathetic towards my situation. I paid £9.99 for 3 ads that didn’t breach the guidelines but still got removed for a reason which wasn’t true. They then don’t refund you, for their own fault. They are fraudsters and customer service is appalling hope the people I spoke to will get fired but I’m sure they wouldn’t care as their attitude shows what kind of people they are. Extreme bullies!

Gumtree listings allow potential buyers to send a message "Is this still available?" - how infuriating, if my item is listed of course it's still available, I'm sick of receiving these messages when I have items listed for sale, sick. This stupid functionality must be removed!

Also - beware of scammers and fraudsters!

Purchased some beautiful old records from a seller called magpie , he was extremely quick at replying back to me very helpful & friendly highly satisfied would certainly purchase agin from magpie 5 stars

Spent three weeks trying to get into my ad to renew. Emailed them numerous times. Like a game of table tennis.

Taking me around in circles. Can't renew ad as a result
.Just spoken to an independent tech.
He says its GUMTREE ISSUE not me.

I asked if I had been blocked.
They said ad on system.

Do they tell you if they do block you?

Shocking service. Have spent thousands over the years.

I just added my car for sale,pay for,receive email with thanks for my post but in the same second another email saying “Your account has been restricted “
After I was in contact with a kind of support customer I received an email of banning me for any kind of post on Gumtree without let me know what was wrong from the moment they accepted my add and payment
Absolutely hilarious,never again Gumtree.

Terrible app. Gumtree is known for time wasters, but there's something more serious. When you block someone for whatever reason, it should mean they are permanently blocked from everything forever. However on gumtree, this is not the case, and people who are blocked, can still view your account and potentially stalk you. If someone gets blocked because of poor behaviour, something very common in modern society these days, they shouldn't be aloud to see anything ever again, which is a major security issue.

often images just don't load. If you google it you'll find it's an ongoing issue with gumtree for years. Impossible to buy / sell something if you can't see it.

gumtree used to be a good place to look for secound hand cars.now its full of brand new cars.witch im not looking to spend 10000.s
i wont be using gumtree anymore
